Wizard's Journey

Chapter 468 Dark Clouds Over the Abyss

call out!call out!

Two witch-hunting wizards flew over, one male and one female.

Behind the male wizard followed a three-meter-long, two-meter-tall, massive, muscular hound that constantly lolled out its bloody tongue. Around its neck was a collar with several gems emitting an eerie red light.

Besides her magic wand, the witch was carrying a longbow on her back, which made Green's eyes flicker as he looked at her a few more times, thinking of Raffi during his wizarding apprenticeship.

The vast majority of elemental wizards use magic wands.

A good magic wand can provide a significant boost to the spells a wizard can cast, such as Grimm's Ram Horned Skull Magic Wand.

"Two masters."

Although both wizards were first-level wizards, they looked shocked and took the initiative to bow to Green and Kredia.

No wonder...

The two had carried out six demon-hunting expeditions over the past thousand years, and this was the first time they had come so close to a legendary demon-hunting wizard with the First Class Medal of Honor.

In their understanding, the First-Class Honor Medal Demon Hunter Wizard should only be a legendary figure, a far rarer existence than the Saint Mark Wizard!

Because every Demon Hunter Expedition inevitably features a Saint Mark Wizard, but very few Level 1 Honor Medal Demon Hunter Wizards appear in Demon Hunter Expeditions.

"Um."

Green nodded in return, maintaining the silent demeanor of a dark wizard.

Kretia, however, surveyed the tens of thousands of Radiant Mantises in the vast mining area, who were mining Golden Crow ore in groups with their arm blades, and said in a condescending, arrogant, hoarse tone: "This is Wizard Grin, who has come to this Golden Crow mine to gather some information about the far northern ice plains of this world."

The two wizards felt a chill run down their spines.

Such great wizards typically guide the operational arrangements of millions of demon hunters in the entire demon-hunting expedition. In the eyes of ordinary demon-hunting wizards, their status is no different from that of a holy-stigma wizard.

Such a high-ranking figure during the Demon Hunting Expedition inspected the Arctic Ice Plains and came to this Black Gold Mountain. Could it be that the precious mineral resources in the eyes of this wizard are related to the entire Demon Hunting Expedition system of the Arctic Ice Plains?

The fact that wizards value precious mineral resources does not mean that the creatures of the Flame Soul World also value them.

Even the races here don't understand the properties of this metal at all; perhaps to them, the Golden Crow ore is no different from any ordinary stone that can be found everywhere.

At the very least, the extraction of black gold from black gold ore was a method invented by chance after generations of alchemists in the wizarding world worked tirelessly for it.

"Masters, is there anything we can help you with? Ni Yalu and I are in charge of managing four thousand slaves in the northwest part of this black gold mine."

The male wizard spoke sincerely.

The nearby slaves couldn't help but steal glances at Green, realizing that a great figure among the evil wizards had arrived at the mine, their eyes filled with hatred and fear.

Roar!

The hound-like beast behind the wizard roared, startling the nearby groups of slaves into continuing their work.

"I need to conduct a survey of the resources in the far north ice sheet. Take me to the rich ore location of this black gold mine."

Green said in a deep, unquestionable voice.

"Yes."

Without hesitation, the two wizards led Green and Kredia to a section of the Black Gold Mine, dispersed all the nearby Radiant Mantis slaves, and pointed to the dark ore on the ground, saying, "This is the richest Black Gold Mine in this Black Gold Mine."

One day later.

Both Green and Crétia carefully selected a batch of raw black gold ore.

Unlike the fire refining method used for ordinary ore refining, black gold is extremely resistant to high temperatures. Even if black gold slag is to be removed using the fire refining method, it is by no means something that an ordinary low-level wizard can do smoothly.

Thus, through the exploration of generations of alchemists, the Ice and Lightning Refining Method was invented.

Compared to the difficulty of refining black gold with fire, the ice and lightning refining method is much easier in removing the waste slag in addition to the black gold. Although this will result in some waste, it is the most common method of extracting black gold in the wizarding world.

Having collected enough raw ore, the two bid farewell to the guardian wizard and mysteriously flew off into the distance.

…………

"Young master, why don't you let Clementia cook dinner tonight?"

While flying through the air, Xiao Ba suddenly whispered a suggestion in Green's ear.

Green glared at the myna bird.

"What? Have your palates become too picky after all these years?"

"Hehe, how could that be? It's just that I've suddenly developed a liking for spicy food lately, hehehe..."

After flying for a full nine days over the far north ice sheet.

After a difficult search, Green finally found a place called Valley of the Wind in the far north ice plains. This was the area where the Locust People once cultivated the Soul Fusion Tree on a large scale in their native world.

But nowadays...

As the Wizard Hunter Expeditionary Legion invaded the Flame Soul Continent, the Spider Queen Clan of the Far North Ice Plains unified this harsh and cold land.

In order to collect the astonishing amount of wizard coins stipulated by the wizard's will, the Spider Mother clan plundered the Soul Fusion Tree here on a large scale, making it difficult to find Soul Fusion Trees of a certain size anymore.

Furthermore, with the rampant invasion of abyssal moss spreading from the Flame Soul Continent, it has become extremely difficult for Grimm to find the living specimen of the original Soul Fusion Tree he desires in this Valley of Wind for further research.

But Green still refused to give up.

If the Soul Fusion Tree can be developed by Grimm using his wizarding knowledge, it will inevitably drive the advancement of chimera knowledge, thus realizing Grimm's wizarding path plan at some point in the future.

"This is the wind gap where the air currents exchange between the Flame Soul Continent and the Arctic Ice Plains, and it is also the place where the abyssal moss of the Arctic Ice Plains first spread."

Cretia pointed to patches of dark moss under the snow and ice as she spoke.

The Arctic was originally a pure land where white ice and snow sprites danced, but now it resembles a severely ill patient with a skin disease, scarred and ravaged by abyssal moss that stubbornly ravages this once pristine and clear land.

"What are they doing?"

Green pointed to a group of alien creatures with black faces, six arms, and naked bodies and asked.

"This is the Spider Queen clan chosen by the will of the wizards of the far north ice plains. This is the most polluted place in the far north ice plains abyss. The wise men of the Spider Queen clan have sent all the Spider Queens with potential here to undergo abyssal tempering, attempting to transform them into abyssal creatures."

Kredia sneered, displaying the instinctive sinister nature befitting a dark sorcerer.

"In that case, they would have the opportunity to replace the Locust People as the rulers of this world by using the will of the wizards after the Abyss Cataclysm truly breaks out."

"Um."

Green nodded, no longer paying attention to the Spider Queens who were honing their skills in groups in the abyssal creature-ravaged regions.

Ahead, a vast expanse of dark abyssal clouds appeared, a sign of the abyssal moss's high level of contamination. Once these dark abyssal clouds spread throughout the world, it would mark the true beginning of the Great Cataclysm of the Abyss.
