Wizard's Journey

Chapter 517 The Lord of Fear (Part 7)

"This feeling..."

As he fled, Green sensed that the Nightmare Mist, the Demon King of Fear, was approaching at an unimaginable speed from a distant, unknown place, getting closer and closer to him. The Nightmare Mist swirling around him was also gradually attracting large swaths of Nightmare Mist from the surrounding area, squeezing and imprisoning him, making his steps heavier and heavier.

Almost every step Green had to use all his strength to take.

A vast expanse of nightmare mist gathered around Grimm, seemingly marking his location to the pursuing Demon King's servants and breaking his invisibility.

"Hmph, you can't escape!"

The Heartless King at the forefront was naturally the first to find Green, and the thick nightmare fog around Green formed a vortex ring that was a kilometer long.

Suddenly, Green felt an unusual fluctuation behind him.

Suddenly, the black ring of Nightmare Mist split open, revealing a sinister smile resembling the crescent moon in a nightmare world. Its neat, white teeth parted, and a long, exquisite tongue stretched out towards the fleeing Green, drooling as if savoring a delicious meal.

"snort!"

The fear of having just been plunged into a nightmare world does not mean that Green is still powerless to resist.

After all, this was merely a wisp of the Nightmare Mist's will descending from afar.

Now, Grimm has tens of thousands of points of Fright Power. Although he does not have the Nightmare Domain ability of a Demon Lord's Servant, his basic combat ability is already comparable to some weak Demon Lord's Servant who have left their own Nightmare Domain.

The ram-horned skull magic staff swung behind him, slamming into the drooling, scarlet tongue.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The demon king's servant rushing towards them from afar was none other than the Dream King who had once chased after Grimm, and who had personally thwarted one of Grimm's attempts at rebirth.

Within its three blood-red giant eyes, one could see Grimm thrust one of his hairy hands backward, actually blasting back a scarlet head, hundreds of meters long, that had emerged from the depths of the Nightmare Mist vortex.

Upon seeing this, the King of Dreams couldn't help but gasp.

"This guy actually dared to attack the great Nightmare Mist Dreadlord... No wonder he's a wizard! Even if he's just a victim trapped in the Nightmare World."

From the mutterings of the King of Dreams, it now knew that Green was indeed the wizard trapped in the Nightmare Mist, the fear demon king seeking him out.

Behind Green, the scarlet tongue, after being attacked by Green, retracted back into the evil arc of the Nightmare Mist as if it had been electrocuted.

"Little wizard, you can't escape now, hehehehehe. I can almost see your trembling, helpless eyes looking up at me. A wizard dragged into a nightmare world by an ancient fear lord? How wonderful."

With a "whoosh," a large patch of red hair was spat out of the Nightmare Mist's mouth—the long red hair that every terrifying creature in the Nightmare World possesses.

These long hairs formed a red vortex in mid-air before shooting towards Green.

This is a mark from the nightmare world, which Green cannot stop or defend against. This vortex mark landed on Green's right shoulder.

"Wait for me, little wizard. Heh heh heh heh, don't be afraid, this is not the end of your life. Because we will soon become one. You will become my vessel, a part of me, a brand new Nightmare Wizard, embarking on your new life journey, heh heh heh heh heh ha ha..."

The arrogant, unrestrained laughter echoed and gradually faded away.

With a "whoosh".

As the red nightmare mist around Green grew heavier, the Heartless King landed in front of Green at an even faster speed. Looking at the Fallen One who was even taller than himself, a strange curve appeared on the right corner of his mouth—a tyrannical smile.

The way the Heartless King looked at Grimm was just like how the wizarding apprentices looked at the frogs that were about to become their mentor's test subjects during Grimm's wizarding apprenticeship.

"Hmph, even a wizard trapped in a nightmare world must abide by the nightmare rules of that world and hand over your secret to quickly collecting terror power."

The voice of the Heartless King was filled with greed.

Upon learning that the Nightmare Hunter was actually a wizard who had fallen into the Nightmare World more than forty years ago, and had now become a powerful Fallen One comparable to a Demon King's servant, both the Heartless King and the other Demon King's servants who were on their way were all captivated!

This wizard actually possesses the secret to rapid advancement?

Even if his Nightmare Power is a hidden talent, it cannot explain why he became so powerful at an extraordinary speed.

Green was marked by a red hair mark. Although his true form remained invisible, a layer of nightmare mist surrounded him because of the mark, making Green stand out.

Green looked at his powerful opponent, whose speed had been reduced due to the surrounding nightmare fog, and had given up on escaping.

I must at least withstand the attacks of the four demon king's servants until my power of terror dissipates tonight, otherwise...

Taking a deep breath, and due to the surrounding nightmare fog, Green simply abandoned the invisibility effect brought by the wizarding world's original will and the Awakening Lamp, and appeared directly in front of the Heartless King as an ugly, long-haired monkey over twenty meters tall, with deep and burning eyes.

"So, what will it do me if I tell you the secret to quickly gathering the power of fright?"

While making a low, mocking sound, Green began to silently gather his own magic power.

The Heartless King extended his hairy finger towards Green, like a high and mighty monarch bestowing charity upon a kneeling and groveling commoner, his arrogant posture unmistakable.

"What do you bring? A deal from the wizarding world? Interesting! At least, I will ensure that you retain the last vestige of dignity of a human wizard before becoming the vessel for the rebirth of the Great Nightmare Mist Dreadlord."

"Preserve the last vestige of dignity for human wizards? Hahahaha!"

The enormous, ugly monkey, Green, who was over twenty meters tall, laughed loudly, seemingly mocking the arrogance and ignorance of the Heartless King. With a "whoosh," Green's body, which was over twenty meters tall, suddenly grew even taller, reaching over thirty meters, and its massive body became even more ferocious.

This is the power enhancement effect of Green activating the first level of his wild instincts.

Of course, no matter what attack method Green uses, in the eyes of other nightmare world monsters, it is just an ordinary, clumsy punch and kick. These monsters use their own abilities, and in Green's eyes, it is the same.

but……

The way wizards evolved is completely different from these creatures!

Wizards excel at using their own weak power to manipulate stronger rules for attacks, which is why Green was threatened by a mere Nightmare Shadow when he first entered the Nightmare World.

But at this moment, when Green's mastery of the power of fright reached such an extent...

"you!"

The Heartless King took a step back, staring at Green in disbelief.

It already knew that Grimm's Nightmare Power had an invisibility effect, so it was no longer worried after Grimm's invisibility was broken by the Nightmare Mist Fear Demon King.

However, at this moment, the Nightmare Hunter's power suddenly increased dramatically. Although the increase was not yet as significant as the enhancement brought by the Nightmare Domain, the Nightmare Hunter went from being on par with him in terms of power to being far superior.

"This is... witchcraft!?"

The Heartless King seemed to have thought of something and asked.

Grimm, his fighting spirit blazing, chuckled softly.

"Hmph, maintaining the last vestige of a wizard's dignity?"

Green was not only getting taller and taller, but also stronger and stronger, with a pair of muscular arms under his solid shoulders.

"You arrogant wretch, how could you, who can only exist like a reptile within the nightmare world, possibly understand the dignity of a great wizard? Since the birth of wizards, they have waged wars of supremacy against the sea creatures, fought ancient wars of enlightenment against the alien nightmare world's civilization, and then fought wars of defense against the civilization of the abyss world. The dignity of a wizard has always been built upon countless craters formed by the successive sacrifices of wizards, upon the countless white bones of endless, brutal, vicious, arrogant, and overbearing alien creatures!"

With a roar, Green's second level of wild instinct transformation was completed. At this moment, Green's image as he roared to the sky was no longer that of a red-haired monkey, but a giant ape!

The forty-meter-tall giant ape roared to the sky, its fists pounding incessantly on its chest, its immense power spreading outwards.

The Heartless King stared in horror at Green, whose power had increased to this level once again!

With a stomp of his foot, there was a loud "bang".

In an instant, cracks spread outwards in all directions from the Nightmare World beneath Green's feet, creating a giant crater tens of meters wide. In a flash, it appeared hundreds of meters away, its massive, sky-covering body wielding a rough, giant hand and slamming down on the Heartless King.
