Wizard's Journey

Chapter 586 Golden Scale Monster

The Tree of Life is lush and its branches reach straight into the clouds!

Even though Grimm had participated in several demon-hunting expeditions and witnessed some unique forms of alien life, he had never seen an incredibly large life form like the Tree of Life.

Riding the Shadow Starfall at breakneck speed through the towering peaks of the Tree of Life, Grimm arrived at his new demon hunter castle.

With a "click," the door to the Shadow Starfall hatch opened, revealing the Demon Hunter Castle, situated thousands of meters above the Tree of Life, before Green's eyes.

A strong wind was blowing.

Looking down at the vast expanse of demon-hunting castles separated by streams and stone paths, with low-flying mechanical aircraft, traveling wizards, and slave monsters constantly coming and going, Green suddenly felt a sense of power and control.

"Shadow Starfall! Medal of Honor, First Class! Are you the new master of this Demon Hunter's Castle?"

On the rooftop of another demon-hunting castle nearby, a giant golden serpent, tens of meters long, was coiled up. A purple-robed wizard was patiently using magic ink to outline magical restrictions on each of the serpent's scales.

This seems to be a fairly successful advanced synthetic beast; Green senses that it has barely acquired the aura of a level three creature!

"Hello, I'm Green."

Green's Demon Hunter Castle was built on a small, protruding branch of the Tree of Life, but that small branch was large enough to form the foundation for the Demon Hunter Castle.

Next to Green's Demon Hunter Castle are two neighboring castles, and the three Demon Hunter Castles are built together on the same branch of the Tree of Life.

Each Demon Hunter Castle has five floors, making its interior space much taller and more spacious than that of a Level 1 Demon Hunter Castle on the ground.

"Hehe, as expected of a newcomer assigned to this Demon Hunter Castle, he has already earned a Level 1 Honor Medal during his Level 1 Wizarding period. It seems that the Seven Rings Holy Tower Ranking will have another strong competitor in the future."

The purple-robed wizard flew to a spot not far from Green, and with a faint smile, his eyes were extremely solemn as he introduced, "Everyone calls me the Golden Scale Old Monster, and the reason is naturally because of my masterpiece, the chimera."

The creature the other party was referring to was, of course, the giant golden-scaled python that perched atop the Demon Hunter Castle.

Golden Scale Monster?

This nickname bears some resemblance to the Pale Mask during Grimm's apprenticeship. It seems that both were given a memorable public nickname by others after they gained some fame.

His withered white hair somehow had a graceful feel to it. The old monster with golden scales had a face full of wrinkles, and although he was smiling at Green, Green felt a chilling serpentine quality in the depths of his deep eyes.

at the same time……

On one hand, Green was observing the Golden Scale Monster, and on the other hand, the Golden Scale Monster was also observing Green.

However, after getting within fifteen meters of Green, the Golden Scale Monster instinctively stopped and dared not approach any closer!

An indescribable aura of intimidation, like a bottomless abyss of darkness, unconsciously emanated from Green. Wild violence mixed with a world-destroying restlessness was forcibly suppressed under that layer of extremely cold rationality. The mysterious semi-illusory fluctuations made the Golden Scale Old Monster feel a bit unreal.

This guy... is probably a monster even more terrifying than Blood Shadow!

The ram's horn skull magic wand had two black flames burning in its sunken eye sockets. Beneath the black aura swirling around its body was a semi-transparent wizard's robe that seemed to be actively distorting the surrounding light, creating a dreamlike and unreal feeling. Beneath the spiral-patterned gray-white mask were a pair of deep and calm elemental eyes, giving the wearer a feeling of being completely naked and pierced through.

Whether it was the magical fluctuations of the external artifacts, the essence of the elemental wizards, or the level of cellular life evolution, Grimm gave the Golden Scale Old Monster an impenetrable sense of oppression, as if the person standing in front of him was not Grimm, but a giant looking down at him.

This new wizard is absolutely terrifying...

This guy is destined to become a prominent figure on the Seven Rings Holy Tower Ranking!

"Master Jinlin, you flatter me. I've only ever heard of the Seven Rings Holy Tower Ranking, never actually seen it. It's said that the top three on this list every hundred years will have the chance to receive the Time-Resources reward from the Seven Rings Holy Tower, which will help them advance to the third-level Grand Wizard. While I crave the reward, I also know that the second-level wizards on the Tree of Life are hidden masters, and many brilliant wizards are vying for them, secretly watching. I am just one of them."

After a polite exchange of pleasantries, Green paused, then suddenly asked in a deep voice, "What makes the wizards assigned to this Demon Hunter's Castle different?"

The so-called "Demon Hunter Castle" refers to the Demon Hunter Castle that grows on the branches of the Tree of Life.

The top of the Tree of Life's canopy branches are not suitable for building demon hunter castles because the demon hunter expedition space fortresses frequently pass through it and the canopy opens and closes from time to time. Most demon hunter castles are built on cliffs in the gaps of the trunk, and very few are built on branches that grow from the trunk.

The Golden Scale Monster smiled, revealing a hint of arrogance.

"The Tree of Life has sprouted 137 branches, and there are no more than a thousand Demon Hunter Castles built on them. The second-level wizards who can be assigned to these Demon Hunter Castles must be Demon Hunter Wizards whom the Seventh Ring Holy Tower considers to have great potential!"

When the Golden Scale Old Monster praised Green, he was also praising himself. When he was assigned here, he must have been recognized by the Seven Rings Holy Tower as a highly promising demon hunter wizard.

"My title of Golden Scale Old Monster was given to me by those who failed in the battle for 77th place on the Seventh Ring Sacred Tower Ranking four hundred years ago. I believe that with your strength, if you were willing to fight for the Seventh Ring Sacred Tower Ranking with all your might in that hundred years, you would definitely cause a sensation and obtain a title that belongs to you."

Green did not respond.

Perhaps it was too difficult for him to advance from level one to level two wizard, or perhaps it was due to the Time Threads given to him by the Time Hourglass Saint Mark Wizard. However, the most likely explanation is that Green had already completed the qualitative energy control required for level four wizards to achieve the power of annihilation. Advancing to level three wizard seemed...

It seems to be just a thin layer of paper!

All Green needs to do is properly adapt to the accumulation of knowledge as a second-level wizard, and then naturally break through this barrier.

The Golden Scale Old Monster pointed to a demon-hunting castle on the other side of the Green Demon-Hunting Castle.

"That's Blood Shadow's Demon Hunter Castle. The wizard who advanced three hundred years ago is incredibly powerful. He's currently vying for a place on the Seventh Ring Holy Tower Ranking for the next hundred years, and he's already ranked eighteenth on the Seventh Ring Holy Tower Ranking."

Eighteen?

Being given the title of Blood Shadow inevitably reminded Green of the recently concluded Demon Hunter Expedition in the Magnetic World: Evil Blood Hate Demon King.

"Haha, alright. Level 2 wizards have many advantages over Level 1 wizards, and they are more focused on competing against each other. After all, once you advance to Level 2 wizard, it's not so easy to perish on demon-hunting expeditions, and the faces around you gradually become more fixed."

Green nodded in deep agreement; that was indeed the case.
