Wizard's Journey

Chapter 670 The World of Flies

Holding the mission scroll in his hand, Green became one of the more than four thousand second-level demon hunter wizards competing for the rankings of the Seventh Ring Holy Tower.

"Target: The Fly World, the Dark Night Red Veil Cult."

"Note: The Fly World joined the Wizarding Alliance 7,900 years ago, and its rulers are the Green Fly Royal Family. In recent decades, the Red Fly People of the Green Fly World have become dissatisfied with the rule of the Green Fly Royal Family and have established the Shadow Red Veil Cult. They secretly use Green Fly People for blood sacrifices to obtain power that does not belong to them. The Green Fly Royal Family has requested the Wizarding Alliance to assist in eradicating this Green Fly World Cult."

"Scoring criteria: Killing the cult leader Dark Night Red Veil earns 10,000 points, a Level 3 Red Fly Elder earns 1,000 points, a Level 2 Red Fly Cult Member earns 100 points, a Level 1 Red Fly Cult Member earns 10 points, and an ordinary Red Fly earns 1 point. Accidentally killing a Green Fly deducts 100 points."

Green stood on the Thousand-Eyed Crab, looking at the Seven Rings Holy Tower Ranking quests.

The other level-two demon hunters were all strange and varied in appearance. A portal that looked like a water curtain mirror shimmered and emitted a spatial energy source, constantly pulling in elemental light from all directions, faintly forming a vortex.

"Gah, what kind of spatial portal technology is this? Ancient wizards didn't develop such magic."

Green had only seen the Flame Soul World Gate, which opened the Nest World, once before. The World Gate in front of Green was clearly not a World Gate opened by the Flame Soul Power, but a World Gate technology mastered by the Wizarding World or the Seven Rings Holy Tower.

Before the Gate of the World, a dozen or so Level 3 Demon Hunter Wizards looked at the many Level 2 Wizards present.

An old witch with a dark red flame burning on her magic wand said in a hoarse and cruel voice: "When you arrive in the Fly World, don't let any humanoid creature with red eyes escape. Being able to mobilize other forces within the world to fight for you will also count towards your reward points. This mission will continue until the leader of the Dark Night Red Veil Cult is killed."

At the gates of the world.

As one after another, more than four thousand level-two demon hunter wizards, some normal, some strange, some floating in mid-air, some standing on soul slave monsters, some on elemental activated creatures, and some standing on the ground, silently nodded, a long "chirp" sounded, and a level-three demon hunter grand wizard riding on a giant eagle was the first to rush into the world gate.

Immediately afterwards, the screams of the slave monsters rose and fell, and many demon hunter wizards rushed in eagerly.

……

The world of flies.

Anmu Zengsha is the capital of the vast Green Fly Royal Empire, which has more than thirty vassal states scattered in various impoverished corners of the world. Flies of all colors, such as purple, black, and blue, gather in this world.

The blood moon hanging in the night sky atop the majestic tower is a fortress representing the primordial space of the wizarding world.

Within the world gate of the fortress, after a ripple, one after another, demon hunter wizards of unrestrained forms appeared. The Green Fly royal family, who had been waiting for a long time, came to greet them, led by the arcane wizards who resided in this world.

These green fly-men resemble humans, standing between 1.6 and 1.9 meters tall. They have slightly strange facial features, a mouth that is a suction cup, emerald green eyes, a pair of transparent wings on their backs, and wear animal skin clothing.

"Welcome to the world of Flies, esteemed wizards!"

Then one after another, demi-humans appeared, carrying trays of various treasures from the Green Fly World. They were respectful and somewhat similar to humans, but also had some Green Fly characteristics.

I really don't know what kind of wizard left behind these descendants in this world, which were collected by these royal families.

Standing atop the Thousand-Eyed Crab, Grimm gazed at the sky beneath the Mask of Truth. The world's rules were similar to those of the Wizarding World, with little difference in temperature and air elemental composition. As for the vegetation and terrain on the ground, there was nothing particularly special or noteworthy.

As a world under the Wizarding Alliance, once a certain amount of wizarding essence is collected, arcane wizards will habitually travel to other worlds to broaden their horizons, as these worlds are relatively safe.

Unlike demon hunters, arcane wizards don't have the experience of understanding otherworldly realms after their demon-hunting expeditions.

The Fly People are a carrion-eating race, and their tastes are probably unacceptable to any wizard.

Both sides exchanged mission contracts, confirming the arrival of the witcher wizard from the Wizarding World and the mission rules.

……

The flies scattered in every corner of the world are essentially no different; the only difference is the color of their eyes, much like the difference in human skin color.

In summary, this was a war launched by an ethnic group to compete for global resources after the world became insufficient.

The witch hunters swiftly flew past the towering, skeletal structures of the Green Fly people, but did not cause much panic among the rulers of this world.

Following the map of the locations of the Dark Night Red Veil cult provided by the Green Fly royal family, Green and Little Eight sat on the back of the Thousand-Eyed Giant Crab and flew towards the area where the Dark Night Red Veil was most densely distributed. Green had only one target: the leader of the Red Fly Cult, Dark Night Red Veil!

Once the leader of the Red Fly Men is killed, the initial ranking of the Seven Rings Holy Tower will be completed!

Generally speaking, it would be a great advantage for second-level wizards to kill one or two third-level Red Fly elders. If they could kill even the final leader, what would be the point of the third-level archmages who descended upon this world?

Furthermore, once a Red Fly cult gathering place is found, if there is enough time, all the Green Flies in the area will become the wizard's helpers and followers, which is also a great convenience.

"Gaa gaa gaa, Mysterious Myriad-Headed Bird, obey the great will of the Eight-Colored Nevis, descend upon this world!"

As Xiao Ba played by himself, a spatial fluctuation occurred, and a massive, mysterious bird with ten thousand heads, over thirty meters in size, appeared, spreading its wings. The numerous heads let out a loud, long cry in unison.

A month later.

The Skomoilo Mountains are a region where the traditional Green Fly people are less concentrated, and are frequently frequented by the Shadow Red Veil cult, which has been eroding the Green Fly people's rule.

Green mountains and towering trees stretch as far as the eye can see.

Occasionally, a flock or two of birds would fly by in the sky, but they would be startled by the presence of the Thousand-Eyed Crab and the Mysterious Thousand-Headed Bird. On the ground, beasts and monsters would appear one after another, all of which would be food sources for the Fly People.

"Xiao Ba, Xiao Wan, and Thousand-Eyed Crab, you guys rest nearby. I'm going to find a target."

"Okay, I understand."

Xiao Ba responded and then laughed, "Hehehe, Xiao Wan, did you feel it? The feeling of being at the top of the food chain! Because of your arrival, the whole mountain range has quieted down. Hehehehe, let's go hunting!"

The Mysterious Thousand-Headed Bird also cried out excitedly, casting a bizarre shadow on the ground. Its enormous body spread its wings and swooped down, causing a chaotic shriek in the forest. The creatures that were once at the top of the mountain food chain scattered and fled.

Green's figure then disappeared amidst a distortion and blurring, the light from the Robe of Appearance twisting.
