Wizard's Journey

Chapter 677 The Challenger (Part 1)

The initial rankings have ended, marking the beginning of the real battle for rankings on this year's Seven Rings Holy Tower Rankings.

Many witchers were dissatisfied with the initial rankings, as they did not achieve the results they desired, blaming the mission to hunt down the Shadow Red Veil cult for ending too hastily.

The registration fee for the Seven Rings Holy Tower Ranking is fifty Witch Essences, and no one would be willing to waste those fifty Witch Essences for nothing.

In fact, besides this reason, for any Demon Hunter Wizard who ranks in the top 100 of the Holy Tower Ranking, in addition to the reward being enough to recoup the registration fee for the Wizard Spirit, one of the more important reasons is the Demon Hunter title.

The only way to obtain the title of Demon Hunter is through the praise and recognition bestowed upon one challenger after another after their failure on the Holy Tower Ranking. This title will accompany the Demon Hunter Wizard throughout their life, much like the name of the Wizard Tower for the Saint Mark Wizards.

Of course, even among the top 100 demon hunters on the Holy Tower list, not everyone can gain the recognition of the public and obtain the title of demon hunter. However, the higher the ranking and the more unique the magic, the easier it is for the demon hunter to obtain it!

Aachenso, the second-ranked Demon Hunter Wizard on the Seven Rings Holy Tower Ranking in this world.

Aachenso felt that time was passing too slowly, and the waiting process was too agonizing. He kept sliding the two metal balls in his left hand, making a "crunching" sound of metal rubbing together.

Witchers ranked below 100th in the initial ranking can challenge any of the top 100 witchers once a year. Witchers ranked in the top 100 can challenge any of the third-ranked witchers once a year, or any of the other witchers ranked 4th to 100th once a year. The third-ranked witcher can challenge the second-ranked witcher once for every three consecutive wins. The second-ranked witcher can only challenge the first-ranked witcher once after winning all three consecutive challenges from the third-ranked witcher!

Based on past experience with the Holy Tower Rankings, if the number one player truly possesses absolute strength to consistently suppress the number two player, the number of times the number one player is challenged is generally between three and five.

Because the second-place finisher will block a significant portion of the challenges for the eventual challenger.

If the challenger ultimately lacks absolute strength, then they must wait until a powerful demon hunter comes up before facing the challenge.

Therefore, the title of Demon Hunter, which ranks first on the Holy Tower list, is often determined by two or three wizards who attempt to challenge the Demon Hunter.

"Chirp chirp chirp, big brother, don't worry. The third-ranked demon hunter wizard is currently in an unstable state. Once he stabilizes and wins three consecutive times in a few days, we can collect a chance to win. Chirp chi ...

A golden monkey perched on Aachenso's shoulder, squeaking and giggling, its little eyebrows flaring and its mouth wide open, looking utterly smug.

Aachenso's lips curled into a smile as he casually stroked his charming little mustache with his right hand.

Seventeen days later, Aachensauer finally faced his first challenge!

The reason is that the third-ranked witcher keeps changing, and can only be challenged once a day. In recent days, the third-ranked witcher has often been defeated by other witchers after winning once or twice, and has to start being challenged again until he has accumulated three times.

This is a massive fragment of a world, at least several hundred times larger than Grimm's World Lab, enough for witchers of this level to unleash their full power.

As soon as they entered this fragment of the world, a strange energy poured down from the sky.

"Chirp chirp chirp chirp, big brother, this energy can protect us from fatal damage. It can withstand temperatures of around 30,000 degrees Celsius. At the same time, it is connected to the detection magic array on the ceiling. Once we are judged to have suffered a fatal injury, we will be automatically expelled from this world fragment."

The golden monkey analyzed things methodically, seemingly possessing an extraordinary ability to sense energy, and was Aachenso's soulmate.

"Thirty thousand degrees? That's an attack only a Saintly Wizard could unleash."

Aachenso smiled, tossed the two metal balls he had been playing with into the air, and after wriggling for a while, they transformed into two small metal creatures that chased and frolicked around Aachenso.

Immediately afterwards, Aachenso took out a sealed crystal bottle. After opening the bottle, large amounts of activated flesh and blood flowed out continuously, gradually forming the image of a flying giant lizard. Its body was covered with scales, its pair of fleshy wings spread more than twenty meters wide, and its tail was surrounded by a layer of purplish-black halo.

Roar!

The chimera let out a roar, as if it were a challenge and a declaration of war. After Aachenso, carrying the golden monkey on his shoulder and two small metal creatures, landed on his back, he began searching for the witcher who had challenged him.

Seemingly quite confident in his own abilities, Aachenso's only concern was the final challenger on the Seven Rings Holy Tower list above him, Green!

During his time in the Fly World, upon entering it, Aachenso, with the help of his Soulmate, found a Red Fly spy imposter. After obtaining a clue, he and several Witcher Wizards made a pact to launch a fatal attack, destroying a branch of the Shadow Red Veil Cult.

This is also why Green discovered that several witch hunters had suddenly risen to the top of the list.

From birth to family training to become a formal wizard, and then to joining the Seven Rings Holy Tower as a demon hunter wizard and advancing to level two, competing for the current Seven Rings Holy Tower rankings, three thousand years have passed, and Aachenso has become a backbone member of the family!

Similar to the wizarding academy system surrounding the Holy Tower, the family system within the Holy Tower is more prone to conflict and friction than the academy system.

……

Half an hourglass later, atop the giant winged lizard, Aachenso looked at the old wizard a hundred meters away.

A bright emerald shone at the top of the wooden magic wand, and a strange halo appeared above its head. Three tree giants, each over ten meters tall, stood behind it, their elemental eyes also looking at it.

"Big brother, be careful. That halo has the power to unleash the tree giant's super regeneration ability. The emerald at the tip of the magic wand contains a life energy spell, and the shadow under his wizard's robe has some strange fluctuations, which seem to be some kind of hidden dark magic. I can't sense it clearly from this distance."

The golden monkey murmured in Aachenso's ear.

"Hmph, I know."

After a smile, Aachenso, with considerable confidence, took the initiative to attack the demon hunter who challenged him. The sounds of battle explosions rose and fell continuously.

……

After about half an hourglass.

With a roar of defiance, the old wizard who challenged Aachenso was deemed fatally injured by the protective energy and removed from the world fragment.

"call……"

The two metal armors on Aachenso's left shoulder and right leg were damaged to varying degrees, and transformed back into two small metal life forms.

"They actually discovered Little Gold's purpose and killed it with all their might, banishing it from this world fragment. Luckily, it wasn't a real battle..."
