A Colossus rushes in at the start

Chapter 10 The Psionic Cheat is Too Outrageous

Space warfare is brutal; there are no passionate charges, only cold physics. If you're not good enough, you're not good enough. You can't just raise your arms and boost morale to turn the tide of battle.

At this point, the Star Alliance fleet, realizing its severe military weakness, attempted to withdraw.

But Lu Shang had considered all of these things from the beginning. Any normal person could think of this: if you can't win, you have to run away and preserve your strength as much as possible.

"Trying to run away? I've planned this for so long, what gave you the confidence to escape so easily?" Lu Shang sneered, then issued orders to all the solid planets.

The solid planet immediately used psionic interference to disrupt spacetime, mimicking the gravitational interference ship by releasing wisps of gravitational waves, thus eliminating the possibility of spacetime warp bubbles forming.

Those ships that tried to leave the star system by accelerating were neutralized by the immense psionic energy released by the solid planet, and remained stationary no matter how fast they accelerated.

Within the Hengxing System, a massive fleet of over 100 million warships was now trapped like turtles in a jar!

Lu Shang persuaded the captured ships to surrender: "I am Lu Shang, the commander of the swarm. Those who want to die can die. The swarm will only keep those who want to live. As long as you are infected by the swarm spores, I will guarantee your right to survive."

It's better to live a miserable life than to die. Among the Star River Alliance's hundreds of millions of warships, the vast majority of people still want to survive.

A few aliens who shouted "The soldiers of the Star Alliance will never submit to inferior beings" were mercifully commanded by Lu Shang to use their psionic brains to penetrate the warship's armor and, under the horrified gazes of the aliens, crush the stubborn individual who was still babbling into a solid lump of flesh.

Psionic energy can manipulate objects remotely and is unaffected by physical barriers. This means that the heavy armor of warships is completely ineffective in providing any defense. Based on this principle, Lu Shang developed this "Psionic Grip".

As long as you're inside a vehicle, no matter how strong your defenses are, it's useless.

Honestly, psionic energy is so useful that Lu Shang often couldn't help but suspect that the former ruler and mastermind of the Babel Tower swarm was actually a spy secretly planted by the Star Alliance.

……

After the battle, Lu Shang easily acquired a large number of intact Star River Alliance warships.

For those aliens who were unwilling to leave their warships, Lu Shang humanely allowed them to choose to leave voluntarily.

The troublesome matter was thus brought to an end. Lu Shang brought a portion of the captured starships to the orbit of Hatt and once again made contact with the governor of Hatt.

The poor governor of Hatt was still in shock even after the space war ended.

"Governor of Hatt, what do you think of these starships?" Lu Shang put on what he considered to be a very friendly smile again.

"Uh... everything is fine, very fine."

"Really? I knew my judgment was right." Lu Shang nodded in agreement and shamelessly boasted.

Changing the subject, Lu Shang looked at the governor of Hat Star with a playful smile and asked, "Governor, what do you think the Empire's upper echelons will do next once they know that your entire agricultural planet has been infected with bee spores?"

"this……"

Governor Hatt hesitated, not finishing his sentence, but Lu Shang could tell from his wide-open eyes that he was not at peace with himself.

Lu Shang didn't care what the other party thought; it was enough to sow such suspicion.

"Don't be nervous... What should I call you?" Lu Shang asked.

"Soland".

Lu Shang nodded and continued, "Soland, I said before that I would give you a way out. Of course, I can't force you to your death. Anyway, our hive doesn't need these things, so I'm going to make a deal with you using them."

Having just been reminded by Lu Shangyi, even if Soland is thick-skinned, he can no longer completely trust the imperial leadership.

In addition, the Imperial fleet's previous bombardment of Hatt destroyed a large city on the planet, causing more than ten million people to perish in the flames.

Even if it meant selling everything they owned, Hat would buy the ships that Lu Shang was selling.

"Then what should we offer in our trade?" Soland asked tentatively, not expecting to find anything on the planet of sufficient value to purchase such a number of warships.

Lu Shang was taken aback. He hadn't decided what to buy yet. He just wanted to hand over this part of the warships to the other party in a reasonable way so as to muddy the waters.

After a moment's hesitation, Lu Shang coughed and asked, "You guys... sell toilet paper here, right?"

"what?"

……

News of the crushing defeat in the Battle of Bogu Nebula reached the Star River Alliance's headquarters in a very short time, and then quickly spread among the various member forces of the Star River Alliance.

Thirty Star River Alliance interceptor fleets, plus seven Dias Empire garrison fleets, totaling over 100 million ships, were completely annihilated without any ability to resist!

This news undoubtedly caused a huge sensation in the league.

Such a result can be described as a one-sided massacre, which is simply unbelievable to the members of the alliance who are used to the easy slaughter of swarms.

The records of this battle were highly valued by the Star Alliance leadership, who repeatedly studied the psionic combat methods that had appeared on the battlefield.

After this battle, the Diaz Empire was the most restless.

Although the two agricultural planets located in the Bogu Nebula were not particularly important, they were still their territory. With the two agricultural planets gone, they were eager to retaliate.

Therefore, at the Alliance meetings, the representatives of the Dias Empire always clamored for the Alliance to deploy a larger military force to resolve the swarm mutation in the Bogu Nebula.

The most unlucky people were the strategists in charge of the Bogu Nebula battlefield.

This disastrous defeat undoubtedly required someone to take responsibility in order to quell public anger, and unfortunately, the staff officers in charge of the battlefield became the target of public criticism.

Command errors, misjudging the situation, ignoring military intelligence... there's always one of these.

Actually, these advisors were also wronged. How did they know that psionic energy could be used in this way? They had never seen the Babel bee swarms used it like this before, even when they were routed.

The Star River Alliance Military Tribunal brought the staff officers in charge of the Bogu Nebula battlefield to court.

After a series of testimonies were presented in court, the judge declared, "Those of you in charge of the Bogu Nebula battlefield are all guilty!"

"The misjudgment of the battlefield situation and the serious miscalculation of the balance of power between the enemy and ourselves directly led to the destruction of thirty interceptor fleets of the Alliance and seven fleets of the Dias Empire."

In court, one of Stan's staff officers stepped forward.

Stan looked around at the assembled judges and solemnly said, "I won't say much in the way of explanation, but I did make an undeniable and serious mistake in strategic decision-making."

"But as one of the architects of the encirclement plan, I hope that everyone in the alliance will give my judgment serious consideration."

"The swarm mutation that occurred in the Bogu Nebula will be an unprecedented disaster. It will be the second swarm disaster to ravage the galaxy. I urge the Alliance to restart the stalled war machines as soon as possible and try to nip this unsettling factor in the bud before it develops into an irreparable catastrophe."
