Ten minutes later, the sightseeing bus stopped in front of a mansion that looked like a palace.

White walls and gray tiles, the black double doors were wide open, and two rows of butlers stood neatly at the entrance, dressed in crisp work clothes, waiting with their hands at their sides.

Seeing them get out of the car, the leader quickly stepped forward and respectfully nodded to Lu Zichuan: "Second Young Master, you're back."

Lu Zichuan nodded slightly to him: "Uncle Wang."

As he spoke, he stepped aside and pulled Shen Zhiyi closer to him, introducing her: "This is Butler Wang, who has watched me grow up since I was a child."

Shen Zhiyi quickly greeted him politely, "Hello, Uncle Wang, my name is Shen Zhiyi, you can just call me Zhizhi."

Uncle Wang looked at Shen Zhiyi with a smile, secretly admiring her.

He had been the steward of this mansion for over twenty years, watching Lu Zichuan grow up since he was a child. He knew the boy too well. He was cold, taciturn, and always distant from people. He had never had a close female friend since childhood, and he once thought that the boy would remain single for the rest of his life.

But today...

Uncle Wang's gaze swept back and forth between the two men.

The girl was beautiful and tall. Standing next to the second young master, the two of them were more eye-catching than TV stars. They were a perfect match.

But what moved him even more was not Shen Zhiyi's appearance.

It was Lu Zichuan.

Uncle Wang watched him grow up from a young age and knew what the boy was like on a daily basis. He always had a detached expression towards everyone, spoke very little, and had very little patience.

But today, he not only personally helped the girl out of the car, but also made a special stop to introduce himself to her, his tone even carrying a hint of gentleness, and a smile playing on his lips.

Most importantly, Uncle Wang's eyes welled up slightly.

He hadn't seen the second young master smile like that in a very, very long time.

Uncle Wang felt a mix of sadness and warmth in his heart. He quickly suppressed the tears welling up in his eyes, his voice even lighter than usual: "Okay, Miss Zhizhi. Please go in quickly, everyone is waiting for you."

Lu Zichuan then took Shen Zhiyi's hand and stepped over the high threshold.

Upon entering, one is not greeted by a living room, but by a long corridor covered with a thick red carpet. The dining room and reception area are symmetrically arranged on both sides, creating a spacious and almost solemn atmosphere.

Lu Zichuan led Shen Zhiyi to the left, and a servant stepped forward to push open the carved wooden door.

As soon as the two stepped across the threshold, a small figure darted to Shen Zhiyi's feet.

Shen Zhiyi was startled and instinctively took a step back, but her high heels tripped on the edge of the thick carpet, causing her to lose her balance and fall straight backward.

Just then, a pair of strong hands firmly wrapped around her waist and pulled her back.

She fell into a warm embrace.

Are you alright?

Lu Zichuan's voice came from above, deep and close.

When Shen Zhiyi looked up, their faces were inches apart. His breath brushed against her forehead, carrying the faint scent of pine needles.

She froze, stammering, "N-nothing..."

She hurriedly scrambled out of his arms, her ears burning hot. Looking down, she realized that the little cannonball that had just fallen to her feet was a little girl of about four or five years old.

The little girl was tilting her head back, her big eyes staring at her curiously, like two translucent black grapes.

"Are you my second aunt?"

Her voice was soft and sweet, with a slight upward curve at the end.

Shen Zhiyi was stunned for a moment. Second aunt?

She didn't immediately grasp the meaning of the address, so she crouched down and gently patted the little girl's head: "Hello, my name is Shen Zhiyi."

The little girl showed no stage fright whatsoever in front of a stranger, calmly tilting her head to look her over: "My name is Lu Han! You're so pretty! Are you a movie star? I've never seen you on TV before!"

Shen Zhiyi was amused by her mature demeanor, her heart melting with tenderness: "I'm not a movie star, just an ordinary person."

"But you're prettier than any celebrity I've ever seen!"

Lu Han didn't believe it. She pouted and tilted her head even further, her rosy cheeks puffing out, making her look like a delicate human Barbie doll.

She was incredibly pleasing to the eye, with big eyes brighter than crystal grapes. Her features possessed both the distinctive strength of the Lu family and a touch of gentleness. Her long hair was braided into two small ponytails tied on either side of her head, swaying with her movements.

Lu Zichuan stood to the side watching the two interact, and after a while, he reached out and patted Lu Han's head: "Lu Han, where are your parents?"

Lu Han then seemed to have just noticed Lu Zichuan standing next to her, and looked up obediently, calling out, "Second Uncle."

Then she turned to the side and pointed out the French windows: "Daddy and Mommy are in the little garden with Grandpa and Grandma."

As she spoke, she glanced at Shen Zhiyi again, then suddenly hopped up like a little rabbit: "I'll go call them! They've been waiting for you for ages!"

Before she finished speaking, the little figure had already skipped and hopped out of the side door, her ponytail swinging behind her head.

Lu Zichuan turned to Shen Zhiyi and introduced her in a low voice, "That's my eldest brother's daughter."

Shen Zhiyi's gaze still followed the bouncy little figure, a gentle smile unconsciously appearing in her eyes: "So cute."

There was a time when she dreamed of having a daughter.

She thought that with her facial features combined with Xu Zhesheng's bone structure, the child she gave birth to would definitely be very beautiful, especially a girl, who would definitely look like a finely sculpted porcelain doll.

But after learning that Xu Zhesheng suffered from asthenospermia, that thought never came up again.

Looking at other people's beautiful little girls these days, it would be a lie to say I'm not envious.

But... never mind, we'll talk about it later.

She turned her gaze to Lu Zichuan: "Why don't we go to the small garden together? I'm new here; I can't very well have my grandparents come to greet me, can I?"

Lu Zichuan wanted to say no, but her grandparents had been talking about her for a long time. They would be happy to come and pick her up in person, let alone walk a few steps.

But looking at Shen Zhiyi's slightly tense shoulders and her nervous eyes, he knew that she really cared about this meeting and wanted to leave a good impression on her elders.

"Okay," he replied.

As he spoke, he naturally took her hand and walked towards the side door that Lu Han had just run out through.

Perhaps because they had already had enough intimate contact today, when Lu Zichuan held her hand again, Shen Zhiyi was only slightly nervous for a moment, and then felt that she seemed to have gotten used to it.

The thought of facing Lu's grandparents later made her even more nervous, and she subconsciously and gently tightened her grip on his hand.

Lu Zichuan, who was walking ahead, paused slightly.

He glanced sideways at their clasped hands; her slender fingers were slightly curled, gripping his palm.

He raised an eyebrow almost imperceptibly, his eyes softened further, and he unconsciously tightened his grip on her hand.

He tilted his head slightly, his voice low, almost touching her ear: "Don't be nervous. If you don't know what to say, give me a hint, and I'll help you."

A simple sentence warmed Shen Zhiyi's heart.

For some reason, she suddenly remembered the afternoon when she first met Xu Zhesheng's parents.

She was just as nervous back then, afraid that she might do something wrong and make Xu Zhesheng's parents dislike her.

I was so nervous on the way that my stomach was churning and I almost threw up in the car.

Xu Zhesheng, sitting beside her, merely glanced at her indifferently, his tone full of impatience: "Making a fuss over nothing. It's just meeting someone, is it really that big of a deal?"
