Father, you've been drafted four times already, please spare us!

To meet the deadline, Chen Nian also arranged for these new recruits to study firearms theory in advance, so he wouldn't have to do it himself.

There are only so many things. For the Chinese nation, which loves "peace," guns are something that can be learned with just a glance, right?

The main topics covered were firearm maintenance and shooting precautions. These were covered by specialized theoretical instructors and squad leaders, so Chen Nian didn't really need to explain them.

Moreover, Chen Nian uses different equipment in the special forces than the new recruits, so even if he has some tricks up his sleeve, they don't apply to him!

This is why Chen Nian singled out Xie Fei in the afternoon.

On the training field, Chen Nian held a timer and continuously tested Xie Fei's various indicators.

"Too slow. It's the same reason: your leg strength is too weak. At your level, forget about joining special forces, even joining a reconnaissance company would be a problem!"

"The most crucial thing for joining special forces is that your basic skills must be solid. It doesn't require you to be outstanding in every single skill, because once you're in special forces, these skills will redefine your understanding of them!"

"But your fundamental skills will stay with you throughout your entire military service!"

Chen Nian frowned, his face looking rather grim.

"I also checked your lung capacity. You used to smoke, so your lung function will be affected to some extent. But fortunately, this is the military, where smoking is strictly controlled, and your amount wasn't large, so it's alright, but it's still alright!"

"Also, I looked at the strength of your arms, and to be honest, it's not good!"

For each test item, Chen Nian would summarize and comment on it, pointing out Xie Fei's problems.

After testing it all, Chen Nian could only say: having the will to do something is a good thing, but having the will to do something doesn't mean you have the physical strength!

"Master, does this mean I'll never be able to join the special forces?"

Xie Fei had a long face and looked extremely dejected.

"Heh, if you meet all the criteria, what's the point of my existence?"

Upon hearing this, Xie Fei's eyes lit up immediately. He grabbed Chen Nian's arm, but it felt like he was grabbing an iron bar. However, he couldn't care less about that at the moment.

"Master, do you mean I still have hope?"

Chen Nian shook his head and replied with a sneer:

"No, I just like doing challenging things, and what you're doing happens to be more challenging than when I joined the special forces, so I want to give it a try!"

Xie Fei almost cried when he heard this:

"Master, your words are so filthy!"

Chen Nian grinned:

Don't be discouraged, anything is possible with effort!

"Now that we've checked your physical fitness, let's see how your target shooting went!"

Inside the firing range.

"47 rings, wow, this score on a stationary target is honestly a bit shocking!"

Xie Fei put down his rifle, somewhat bewildered:

"I think it's alright!"

Chen Nian glanced at the spineless Xie Fei, grabbed the rifle, inspected it, then cocked it, pulled the trigger, and fired without any hesitation.

Gunshots rang out across the firing range; five shots, fifty rings.

"Heh, even a kid could hit the target accurately with this thing after a couple of days of practice!"

"Xie Fei, I'm curious what you've been doing for the past four years!"

Xie Fei scratched his head, his face flushed with embarrassment.

"What about the moving target?"

"Forget it, I won't ask anymore. There's no point in testing it. The stationary targets are already a mess, let alone the moving targets!"

...

Inside the office.

"Xie Fei, I'm asking you one last time, do you really want to join the special forces?"

"think!"

"Can you accept having a layer of skin peeled off your body?"

"able!"

"Um, let me describe it in more detail, there might be more than one layer!"

"able!"

Chen Nian looked at Xie Fei's determined eyes and then nodded.

"Let's start with physical fitness. I won't mention your 5km time; you know it in your heart. Starting today, wear 5kg sandbags on your legs and 3kg on your arms. Run 10,000 meters every morning and evening. Don't focus on speed; just focus on being able to stick to it!"

"Furthermore, you can't let it interfere with daytime troop training!"

Xie Fei opened his mouth as if to say something, but ultimately remained silent.

"As for the rest, I need to think about it carefully and figure out how to create a special training plan for your terrible situation."

Chen Nian frowned. Xie Fei's foundation was too weak, so weak that he couldn't give Xie Fei a clear solution right now and could only ask him to think about it some more.

"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Even if you're terrible, you're still better than Xu Sanduo at the beginning!"

So don't be discouraged, where there's a will, there's a way!

Xie Fei forced a smile:

"Master, that's just a TV drama!"

Chen Nian was taken aback, and comforted him:

"Art imitates life, right? Who knows, maybe Xu Sanduo is based on someone in real life?"

...

For two consecutive days, after receiving firearms theory training, the new recruits finally had the opportunity to handle real guns and fire them themselves.

"I want to emphasize again: no one is allowed to point a gun at anyone!"

"Attention all security personnel! If anyone is seen pointing a gun at another person, stop them immediately. If necessary, use any means necessary!"

Chen Nian emphasized this point again.

"Now, everyone, to your positions!"

Wang Shifeng and his platoon of new recruits performed exceptionally well in all aspects, as well as in their grasp of theoretical knowledge. Therefore, Chen Nian arranged for them to be the first to practice target shooting.

"Remember the key points I taught you!"

Chen Nian stood behind them, constantly giving them instructions.

"Ocean, are you panicking?"

"What's the rush? Haven't we been waiting for this day for a long time?"

"I'm just excited!"

"Yes, I'm excited too!"

"Alright, stop nagging and aim first. Listen to the command!"

"He Chun'er, why aren't you saying anything?"

"I've got my sights set, who has time to argue with you!"

"Okay, you guys are all awesome!"

Seeing that no one was paying attention to him anymore, Chen Guang also aimed his eyes at the scope and began to plan in his mind how to fire the gun.

"Alright, stop shaking like that, your fingers are stiff. Take a deep breath! It's okay if you miss!"

Chen Nian knew why Chen Guang kept muttering to himself, desperately wanting to talk to the people around him; it was a sign of extreme nervousness.

Chen Guang suddenly looked up:

"Dad Chen, I'm not nervous!"

"Bullshit! If you're not nervous, why are your fingers hard? Relax, or you won't be able to fire the gun later!"

"Your first time shooting is mainly about getting a feel for it. Whether you hit the target or not doesn't really matter!"

Chen Nian patiently calmed the new recruits down.

"put!"

As the order was given, the rifles in the recruits' hands trembled slightly, and some recruits' shoulders even shook from the vibration.

After firing five bullets, the recruits stood up and put their rifles down on the spot.

"Target number one, 34 rings!"

"Target number two, 32 rings!"

"Target number three, 0 points, all missed!"

"Target number four, 78 rings!"

"Target number five, 31 rings!"

"..."

"Chen Guang, you son of a bitch, five bullets, all gone?"

"You'd better wait until tonight when you get home. I'm going to let you relive your childhood!"

Chen Guang's face was pale, and his eyes were even slightly red.

"No way, Lu Haiyang, you son of a bitch, five bullets and you only got a 78?"

"What, you think bullets can curve?"

Lu Haiyang pouted:

"Dad Chen, I don't know either!"
