Peerless Little Divine Doctor: The Beautiful CEO Falls for Me

Chapter 1 Yuanbao, are you hungry? Your sister-in-law will steam some buns for you!

"Ouch...slow down..."

A series of ambiguous whispers drifted from the house next door, belonging to Widow Liu.

"Sister-in-law, what happened in your room?"

Chen Yuanbao, the village's notorious idiot, leaned against the windowsill, staring with wide, bewildered eyes, and asked in a simple-minded manner.

He lost both his parents when he was eight years old, and when he was ten, he was hit on the head by a trafficker while trying to save a child from the village who had been kidnapped.

The villagers remembered his good deeds and would occasionally bring him a bowl of leftover food, which allowed him to stumble and fall until he was eighteen.

Inside the window on the kang (a heated brick bed), two figures were arched up by the quilt, fooling around.

Upon hearing this sound, the commotion inside the blanket stopped.

Widow Liu sat up abruptly, her disheveled hair draped over her shoulders.

"My goodness..." She patted her chest, then, seeing Chen Yuanbao outside the window, let out a long sigh of relief. "Silly Yuanbao, you scared your sister-in-law to death!"

Another person peeked out from under the covers; it was Li Dazhuang, a notorious troublemaker in the village.

He was thirty-five, and his wife, Wang Guihua, hadn't given him any children, so he would frequently visit Widow Liu, and the villagers turned a blind eye.

Upon recognizing Chen Yuanbao, Li Dazhuang immediately sat up, cursing and swearing.

"Where did this stupid dog come from, scratching at the window frame like that!"

"Dazhuang!" Widow Liu quickly grabbed him, then forced a smile at the window. "Yuanbao, are you hungry? I've got two steamed buns warming in the pot. Go to the kitchen and get them yourself, okay?"

Steamed bun!

Chen Yuanbao's eyes lit up, and he swallowed hard. He hadn't eaten a proper meal in the past two days.

At eighteen, he had grown quite tall and strong.

Although he was an idiot, when he wasn't drooling, he was no different from a normal person, with sharp eyebrows, bright eyes, and distinct features.

He flipped over and jumped down from the windowsill, then ran around the yard and headed straight for the kitchen.

Inside the house, Li Dazhuang got off the kang (a heated brick bed) with a dark expression and put on his pants.

"If that idiot comes again, lock the door!"

"Oh dear, what does a fool like him know?"

Widow Liu went over and draped his coat over him. "Besides, if he hadn't yelled that, your wife Wang Guihua would have really come looking for you. That would have been quite a show."

Li Dazhuang snorted, pulled a wad of crumpled bills from his pocket, and slammed them onto the kang table.

"The village is going to split the cost of road repairs equally, five hundred yuan per household. You're a widow, you can't afford it, so I'll cover it for you."

He stared at Widow Liu, a smirk playing on his lips: "You should be aware of the favor you owe her."

Widow Liu's eyes flickered, and she quickly hid the money under her pillow, giving a mumbled reply.

Just then, a loud "bang" came from the kitchen, followed by Chen Yuanbao's loud voice:

"Sister-in-law! The steamed bun fell on the ground!"

Li Dazhuang's anger flared up instantly.

This idiot had been driving me crazy all night, and the memory of someone prying open my window made me even angrier.

He strode into the kitchen, grabbed Chen Yuanbao by the collar, and slapped him across the face.

"What are you yelling about! Who do you think you are? You think you can eat steamed buns?"

"Snapped!"

Chen Yuanbao staggered from the blow, covering his face and staring blankly at Li Dazhuang, muttering, "Sister-in-law...sister-in-law told me to take it..."

"Sister-in-law, sister-in-law, who's your sister-in-law!" Li Dazhuang's anger escalated with each curse, and he kicked him to the ground. "You've lived this long eating other people's leftovers, and you're still not satisfied? You want to eat white flour buns? I'll beat you to death, you piece of trash!"

He swung his fist and unleashed a flurry of blows.

Chen Yuanbao rolled on the ground, clutching his head. Widow Liu, wearing only a coat, ran out and pulled him away, crying, "Dazhuang, stop hitting him! Is he stupid?! What if you hurt him!"

"So what if he's an idiot? An idiot deserves to die out there!"

Li Dazhuang beat Chen Yuanbao harder and harder, and finally grabbed a fire poker from beside the stove and smacked him on the head with it.

Chen Yuanbao's vision went black, and he collapsed to the ground, motionless, with blood gushing from his forehead.

Widow Liu was dumbfounded. She squatted down to check his breathing—it was barely a whisper.

"You...you killed someone!"

Li Dazhuang was also taken aback for a moment, but he was used to bullying others in the village, and after a second thought, he glared fiercely at Widow Liu:

"A fool! No parents, no one's going to care if he dies!"

He pulled out a few more bills from his pocket and slapped them on the table:

"Keep this to yourself. If you dare utter a single word, you'll be next."

After speaking, he walked away.

Inside the house, Widow Liu sat slumped on the ground, trembling as she watched the blood flow more and more.

……

Chen Yuanbao, who had lost consciousness, entered a chaotic space.

Standing before them was a woman dressed in a Taoist robe.

Her beauty seemed to transcend a thousand years and reach people's hearts; her long hair cascaded down like the Milky Way falling from the heavens, dazzling and radiant; her skin was like jade, and her eyebrows and eyes were as if caressed by moonlight.

It looks good... even better than a plain steamed bun.

This was Chen Yuanbao's first thought in his dazed state.

"Foolish child."

The woman gently raised her hand and lightly touched his forehead with her fingertips.

In an instant, a flood of information rushed into his mind. The surrounding scenery and sounds gradually blurred, leaving only a soft sigh, as if in a dream—

"How could I... wait for a thousand years?"

……

"Yuanbao, I'm so sorry, I'll be your slave in the next life..."

Chen Yuanbao slowly woke up and found himself being held by Widow Liu, who was crying and rambling on. He helplessly sat up and pushed her away a little.

"Sister-in-law, I'm not dead."

"A ghost—!"

Widow Liu screamed and scrambled back to the corner of the wall, her face deathly pale.

"You, if you want to find someone, don't look for me, go find Li Dazhuang! I was forced into this by him!"

Chen Yuanbao snorted – "From now on, please call me Niu Hulu Yuanbao. Li Dazhuang will settle this score with me later, but for now…"

To avoid being seen as a monster, he habitually grinned and forced out a goofy smile.

"Sister-in-law, I'm really not dead. It's just... my head feels a bit fuzzy."

Widow Liu stared at him for a long time, then glanced at his shadow in the sunlight, before letting out a long sigh, rushing over to hug him again and bursting into tears:

"Oh my goodness! You scared me to death! From now on, I'll steam white flour buns for you every meal, waaaah..."

Chen Yuanbao's old face flushed instantly, and he quickly pushed her half an arm's length away—this aunt hadn't even finished fastening her clothes properly.

"Sister-in-law, don't cry." He lowered his voice. "Don't tell anyone that my mind is clear."

Widow Liu nodded repeatedly—she never wanted to experience that terrifying feeling of thinking she had killed someone again. Now, she would listen to whatever Chen Yuanbao said.

"Sister-in-law, you're very tight-lipped!" she assured him, patting her chest so hard it trembled, causing Chen Yuanbao to quickly turn his face away.
