Red Dragon seeks his position in both realms.

Chapter 2 The Necessity of Cultivating Immortality

Bafeng Mountain was shrouded in mist and the sky was hazy.

The birds in the mountains and forests chirped incessantly, creating a lively atmosphere.

Suddenly, the figure of the red dragon Winters appeared out of thin air on a giant tree.

The appearance of the red dragon startled a flock of birds, which scattered in all directions.

Winters, who had appeared in this world, scanned the area with his gilded vertical pupils but did not find any wild boars. However, he did find hoof prints left by wild boars and smelled a slight stench of pigs.

"The pig demon is gone?"

Winters had already learned many spells yesterday, such as Swamp Spell, Web Spell, and Slow Spell.

The red dragon possesses astonishing magical talent. He practiced diligently all night and has made considerable progress. He is now eager to test its effectiveness.

"He should have gone back to his pigsty. I'll go scout around first, then set another trap to lure him in."

Unlike other red dragons who act rashly, Winters, having been born as a human in his previous life, prefers to act with composure and think things through before making a move.

Ahem, the last time I saw Ling Shen's greedy nature was just an exception.

Moreover, that tusked boar demon is not to be trifled with. Its thick boar hide is as hard as iron, and its tusks are exceptionally sharp. If one were to confront it head-on, one would likely not fare well.

Winters spread his nearly four-meter-long dragon wings and flew into the sky, circling and searching. The birds around him scattered in panic when they saw Winters.

In a short while, Winters found the tusked boar's den and swooped down to the surrounding trees to observe it.

With his dragon eyes clearly seeing the pig hoofprints on the ground and smelling the strong stench of pigs, Winters was certain that the tusked wild boar had not left and was still in its den.

"Hmm, it's still there. I'll find a good spot to make a trap and then lure it in."

After saying that, Winters spread his dragon wings and took flight, scouting the valley.

With the wind howling, Winters, with his sharp eyes, quickly found a mountain hollow with three towering sides and a slightly lower center—just the right spot.

Winters slowly spiraled down, landing in a low-lying area, and began to cast a spell.

Swamp Spell! Swamp Spell! Swamp Spell! Swamp Spell!

Winters cast the Swamp spell four times in a row, turning the entire ground of the valley into an inescapable swamp.

Web-weaving! Web-weaving! Web-weaving!

Layers of fine, hair-like spider webs covered the surface of the swamp, making the trap even more perfect.

Winters raised his dragon head with satisfaction, quite pleased.

Despite his level four life skill depleting most of his magic power by using level one spells multiple times, he believed it was all worth it, as he was certain that the pig demon would die today.

"We can go hunting now."

Winters' eyes flashed with a cold light, its scales slightly unfurled in excitement, and it spread its wings and soared into the sky.

The wind howled as Winters returned to the sky above the Pig Demon Cave. This time, he didn't even look at anything before opening his sharp teeth and maw.

A breath of dragon's might, imbued with the dragon's might, was exhaled!

The dragon's flames were fierce, engulfing the entire cave entrance and pointing straight into the depths of the cave.

Winters continued to exhale for more than ten breaths before a mournful, pig-like scream came from the pig demon's cave.

Upon hearing this, Winters screamed in agony, then closed his dragon mouth and stopped breathing. The boar had already woken up and no longer needed to vomit.

These ten or so breaths of dragon breath also consumed a lot of his strength.

The next moment, a tusked wild boar the size of an elephant charged out of the pig demon cave, its momentum fierce!

The wild boar that charged out had its forehead hair singed, turning it into a black haze, and you could still faintly smell a burnt odor. The surface of its two tusks was also somewhat blackened. This was all Winters's handiwork.

At this moment, the wild boar's eyes were bloodshot, clearly indicating that it had gone mad. As soon as it came out of the cave and saw Winters, it roared and charged at him.

"You're asking for it! It's you again, you lizard!"

As the saying goes, enemies are especially hateful when they meet. The wild boar, awakened by the dragon's breath, wished it could tear Winters to pieces on the spot to avenge itself!

I let you escape yesterday, but you dare to come back today? Do you really think I'm easy to bully?

Seeing that the fish had taken the bait, Winters didn't say much. He immediately spread his dragon wings and took off, easily dodging the boar demon's charge, and then made a quick getaway.

Seeing this, the pig demon was not about to let Winters escape easily. It pushed off the ground with all four hooves and sped after him, fearing that Winters would also disappear like yesterday.

"That damned beast is really persistent, hmph."

Winters flew about six or seven meters above the ground, his eyes fixed on the pig demon chasing after him.

This pig demon was truly formidable. It charged forward, smashing through several large trees in the road without slowing down, leaving all the trees along the way in pieces.

The dragon and the pig chased each other through the forest.

Soon, the location of the trap appeared to Winters' right front.

finally reached!

Winters veered off course and flew toward the trap he had set, while simultaneously reducing his speed and altitude to prevent the boar demon from losing him.

Seeing Winters slow down, the pig demon assumed he was exhausted and was overjoyed, so it accelerated to catch up.

Winters and the pig demon arrived at the trap valley one after the other. Just as they were about to reach the center of the trap, Winters was suddenly pulled upwards.

Caught off guard, the pig demon charged headlong into the trap that combined mud and web magic, going quite deep and ending up right in the center of the trap.

"Awooo!!"

The pig demon roared in anger, "That damned lizard tricked me! That damned lizard!"

The pig demon struggled desperately, kicking wildly in the mud and spider webs, splashing mud everywhere and making the spider webs tremble.

The force was so great that it shook the entire swamp, and some of the spider webs wrapped around him broke off.

This scene made Winters, who was standing on the stone wall, nervous, fearing that the pig demon might break free, which would cause some trouble.

Immediately cast two Slow spells on the boar demon to slow it down.

Fortunately, the pig demon's strength was only temporary. After being hit by Winters's Slowing spell, it struggled for a few moments before losing strength. Its four hooves kicked wildly, but its body sank deeper and deeper.

Winters breathed a sigh of relief, then revealed the wicked grin befitting a dragon:

"Hehehe! You little fat pig, you can't escape now!"

Winters crouched on the rocky wall of the ravine, its crimson scales reflecting the swaying shadows in the swamp, and the tip of its tail wagged proudly.

As he pondered how to torment the wild boar that had humiliated him, a sneer suddenly rose in his heart.

"Skinfish, what are you waiting for? If you don't finish it off soon, this little piglet will burrow underground and run away!"

Winters's vertical pupils suddenly contracted; where the hell was that voice coming from?

A crow was perched on a branch, its feathers glossy black, its beady eyes gleaming, and it was tilting its head to look at him.

Is this a crow that can only speak in other people's hearts?

The magical beasts of Bafeng Mountain?

The moment that thought crossed his mind, the swamp beneath his feet suddenly gurgled.

The tusked wild boar, stuck in the mud, emitted a faint, yellowish-brown light, with its two tusks shining the brightest. Its desperate struggles suddenly stopped, and the mud churned violently like boiling water.

Winters' heart skipped a beat.

He didn't bother to ask where the crow came from; he simply raised his claws and unleashed a spell downwards.

Slowdown Technique!

Web-weaving technique!

Two spells struck the wild boar.

But the pig's body emitted a yellow light, as if it were lubricated with ointment, preventing the spider web spell from sticking and the slow spell from slowing it down.

Finally, the boar looked at Winters and glared at him with bloodshot eyes.

"thump--"

Mud splattered everywhere, the pig was gone, leaving only a mud hole.

The valley fell silent instantly.

Winters stared at the mud hole, his red dragon face almost turning black.

My big fat pig just disappeared?

The fat pig that was almost in our mouths just slipped away like that?!

"Ha ha ha ha!"

The crows cawed and laughed mockingly, their laughter echoing in Winters' mind.

"What did I say? This pig is a demon beast of the Earth element. It has been stuck at the third level of [Fetal Breathing] for many years. When you forced it into a desperate situation, it broke through in the face of battle and awakened the wonders of [Earth Escape]."

You lizard, watch out for its revenge.

"A last-minute breakthrough? Isn't that something only novel protagonists do? And why isn't it me, but a big fat pig!"

Winters cursed inwardly, thinking how incredibly unlucky he was to have let that pig get away.

"And what exactly are these mysterious techniques, the 'fetal breathing' and 'earth escape' that this stinking crow is talking about?"

He glanced at the crows gloating in the tree, and spoke in a magical, universal language, coldly:

"And who are you? Why can you speak within my heart?"

He was scouting from the air and hadn't noticed the crow at all.

I don't know when it appeared, but with such abilities, it's no ordinary bird.

I'm afraid this crow saw him arrive from the very beginning; if that were the case…

Winters' eyes grew even colder.

"Huh?! You can talk? I can't see any spiritual energy around you. I thought you were just a mutated ordinary skink."

"As for me?"

The crow shook its wings and said with considerable pride:

"I am a rare winged creature from Mount Bafeng, you may call me Lord Crow! As for the sound you heard, it is my innate divine ability, [Myna's Tongue]."

"Crow Lord? [Myna's Tongue]?"

Winters asked a few more probing questions, but Crow King just laughed them off.

Winters, not wanting to get entangled, flew towards the Boar Cave. He figured he could chase the monk away, but the temple wouldn't hide; the spirit ginseng wouldn't follow him underground, so he could recoup some of his losses.

No sooner had he taken off than the crow flapped its wings and followed, hovering leisurely behind him.

"Skinfish, don't be in such a hurry to leave."

The voice of the Crow King drifted over: "You want to go to the Pig Cave to get the spirit ginseng inside? Share some with me, I have a great use for it."

Winters paused, turning back to give it a cold glance:

"How did you know there were spirit ginsengs in the cave? And besides! My name isn't Stone Skink!"

Skink, also known as four-legged snake, stone lizard, or snake uncle, is another name for the lizard that Winters knew in his previous life.

How could they possibly refer to a great dragon as a skink?

This crow seemed destined for death, and Winters's gaze towards it already held a hint of murderous intent.

"Stone Dragon, don't be angry. Listen to me. When you went to burn the pig's den, I was right there. I've had my eye on this fat pig for a long time, but I just didn't have the chance."

Crow spoke frankly, without the slightest hint of guilt about spying:

"I saw you set traps and lured the pig demon, but you didn't notice me because I was hiding in the shadows."

"So I was just observing from outside the pig demon's cave, not discovered the moment I transmigrated. That makes sense; there's no such thing as a perfect coincidence in this world."

Winters understood immediately; so that's how it is.

But the other party stood by and watched the whole thing, clearly waiting to reap the benefits and wanting to be the fisherman.

Now that the pig demon has run away, you want to take a share of the spirit ginseng? Dream on!

Why should I give it to you?

His tone was extremely unfriendly. Red Dragon's greed was ingrained in his blood; how could he possibly spit out something that was already in his mouth?

Lord Crow wasn't annoyed, and slowly said:

"Stone Dragon, I see that you are not covered in spiritual energy, so you probably haven't embarked on the path of cultivation yet, right? It's just that some fortuitous encounters led you to accidentally eat some spiritual fruits, which is why your intelligence has just begun to awaken."

I can trade you the Pleiades Law.

This is the fundamental method of the [Pleiades] lineage, far better than your haphazard practice. This is the ultimate Yang and strongest path, capable of dispelling evil and suppressing malevolent forces. Once you learn it, the next time you encounter that fat pig of the [Earth Virtue] type, you will surely be able to slay it.

Winters' heart skipped a beat.

"Cultivation techniques?"

He was worried about not having any information about this world, and he figured that the cultivation method the crow mentioned was the way to improve one's life level in this world.

Furthermore, the cultivation method described by the crow can indirectly confirm the level of this world, whether it is a low-magic, medium-magic, or high-magic world, or even a super-magic world.

But Winters remained unmoved and continued to pressure for a lower price:

"Four spirit ginseng roots for a broken cultivation technique? You're certainly asking for an exorbitant price. I think it's worth at most one root."

Although I don't know the price of this technique, I'm sure I can't go wrong by haggling over the price.

"One? You're such a stingy lizard!"

The crow flapped its wings as if its feathers had been ruffled:

"This is the fundamental inheritance technique of the Primordial Sun Path, an eighth-grade immortal book!"

Four is already a bargain for you! You should get at least three!

"One and a half."

Winters continued to haggle, regardless of whether it was a traditional cultivation technique or some other eighth-grade method, he just kept pushing the price down.

"Two and a half roots! This method is extremely rare, allowing one to cultivate while gazing at the sun, and it also includes a method for gathering vital energy!"

Winters stared at Crow King for a few moments, then knew he couldn't lower the price any further.

Two and a half spirit ginseng roots in exchange for a cultivation manual isn't a bad deal, considering there are at least ten of them in that pig cave.

"make a deal."

The man and the crow quickly landed in front of the wild boar's den.

The ginseng in the pig cave was undamaged; there were a total of twenty-one ginseng roots.

Winters took out two half-spirit ginseng roots and pushed them in front of Crow King to indicate a trade.

The raven picked up the ginseng and spat out a silvery feather from its beak to Winters:

"Here's the [Pleiades Method] for you."

Winters pressed his claws against the feather, and after confirming that his senses were correct, he put away the spirit and left.

He needs to find a secluded place to go back first, and then study this technique.

As Crow King stood before the pig's den, a glint of cunning flashed in his eyes as he watched Winters leave.

"Hehe, another one took the bait, another spiritual gain."

Then the crow disappeared into the dense forest.

Winters found a secluded spot and tried to examine the cultivation technique.

The cultivation method entered his mind, and the cultivation images of the "Pleiades Method" appeared, but the images were in human form, with nine images in the first chapter.

"Why is this cultivation technique designed for humans? I wonder if my red dragon form is suitable for practicing it?"

Winters felt that the crow had tricked him; this technique was clearly designed for humans, how could a true dragon like him cultivate it?

Winters thought about it for a long time and decided to give it a try first. If there were any problems, he would stop.

"Hmm, let's give it a try first. If it doesn't work, we'll give up. Besides, judging from this book, there are humans in this world too."

Winters recalled the raven's words and was filled with doubt:

"And what about Earth Virtue, the Pleiades Lineage, and the Eighth Rank?"

"This world is really complicated, no simpler than my original world! I'll have to be even more careful from now on."

These knowledge-based questions must be addressed next time; it would be best to find some books about our own race to read.

And that wild boar that's still alive! We'll have to find a chance to kill it sooner or later!

Thinking of this, Winters' eyes reddened even more.

He then returned to his original world with the spoils of his journey.
