Red Dragon seeks his position in both realms.

Chapter 4 The Victory of the Spiritual Victory Method

The true dragon in the sky remained silent, yet its aura of dragon might grew ever stronger.

Walker, the jackal, pressed his head firmly into the ground, not daring to move an inch. As time went by, his fear grew, and his limbs trembled uncontrollably.

After a long while, the dragon remained silent, which undoubtedly signaled a dangerous situation.

Just when Walker thought he was doomed to die under the golden dragon's claws, the true dragon finally spoke:

"Interesting, gnoll, you mean?"

"You deliberately chose this time of day, brought so many gnolls, and specifically chose this location, all just to defect to me?"

There was no emotional fluctuation in his tone; it was merely a statement. But to Walker, it was clearly the prelude to slaughter.

Although true dragons are divided into good and evil factions, they share some common essences.

They are all true dragons and share many common traits, such as: a love of treasure, ambition, a strong possessiveness, a reverence for absolute violence, arrogance, and belligerence.

True dragons also dislike being deceived by any creature!

Walker knew he was going to die if he didn't say something soon, so he quickly begged for mercy in an even more humble tone:

"My Lord Dragon! I did... just now..."

Just as Walker was about to explain his previous actions, Winters interrupted him, coldly saying:

"Enough. I don't want to hear your explanation. Since you say you've come to serve me, then from now on, you are all my subordinates, my slaves."

"You are my slaves, so you must obey my... commands! From this moment on, your lives belong to me."

As soon as he finished speaking, several beams of crimson-gold light emanated from the domineering Winters and shot towards the jackals lying on the ground.

Whoosh!Whoosh!

Every ray of golden light struck the kneeling gnolls with perfect accuracy, piercing their hearts, lungs, and brains without exception.

Having lost all will to live, Walker naturally dared not defy the golden light and allowed it to shoot into his brain.

After the golden light pierced the vital points of each gnoll's body, it did not dissipate, but flickered intermittently, like a bomb that could explode at any moment.

After Winters broke through to the first level of the Fetal Breathing stage, he finally understood the profound mystery of the [Pleiades] path.

【Pleiades】Cultivators possess the aura of the Pleiades, which has divine effects such as warding off evil, suppressing malevolent forces, dispelling impurities, eliminating demons, and calming the mind.

Its magical power is extremely domineering, and it can even make evil spirits and heretics stronger than itself. No sect can control it.

Under the sun, there is the mysterious blessing of the Pleiades, such as amplification of spells, restoration of magical power, immunity to fire, poison, cold, thunder, and curses, etc.

There are too many mysteries to describe in detail.

Every golden beam of light that Winters fired came from the Pleiades magic within his body. As long as Winters had a thought, the magic could explode instantly, blasting the gnolls into pieces.

Winters had long recognized this group of gnolls as the gnoll race he had driven out of the Green Valley.

Dragons have long lifespans and photographic memories, making Walker's lies too easy to expose.

How can a clumsy gnoll compare to a wise red dragon?

However, Winters never expected that this gnoll leader would actually become a level four gnoll overseer.

You should know that none of his kobold subordinates, who were influenced by his red dragon bloodline, had broken through to level four. Even the strongest one, Kru, was only at level three.

This gave Winters some ideas.

Winters initially gave up because these gnolls were too unruly and too costly to manage.

But this group of gnolls seems quite pragmatic, and they are also quite capable, so it's better to bring them under our command.

He doesn't need them to truly and willingly submit to him like the kobolds; he only needs them to obey and work.

"I have infused every one of you gnolls with..."

"Um."

"A great gift!"

"If you dedicate yourselves to serving your great red dragon, blessings will protect you."

Winters' tone was dramatic and pretentious, as if he were bestowing a tremendous favor upon the gnolls.

However, when this Pleiades magic is not activated, it does indeed have the effect of warding off evil and impurity, so Winters is not wrong.

Hearing this, Walker breathed a sigh of relief; at least his life was saved. But why did this Golden Dragon say he wanted to serve the Red Dragon?

What does it mean to serve the Red Dragon?

The other ignorant gnolls had no ideas whatsoever.

Submitting to Walker is submission, submitting to the dragon is submission, and perhaps submitting to the dragon's claws will even lead to a better life.

Winterston paused, then said in the tone characteristic of a dragon:

"But... if any of you harbors any disloyalty, this blessing will burn your bodies and souls to ashes! You will never find release!"

These words were very effective. The jackals below trembled with fear and lowered their tails in submission.

The evil faction works like this: if you try to reason with them, they'll just think you're easy to bully.

They'll only submit and obey if you punch them.

Winters's dragon heritage knowledge records that when facing gnolls, one only needs to use force to completely subdue them, without any courtesy.

Just then, the kobold guard finally arrived, along with more than fifty kobolds including Kru, all looking menacing and ready to fight at any moment.

But when the kobolds saw the gnolls who had submitted to the ground with their tails between their legs, and their majestic red dragon master in the sky, they knew that it was all over.

Winters gave the gnolls to Kru, instructing Kru to assign them to do hard labor for a while.

This would allow them to dig deep pits around the food fields to deter the badgers that are always stealing vegetables, and ideally kill one or two of them.

Alternatively, one could go to newly established mining areas, where mining shallow copper ore requires a large workforce.

They were provided with food, drink, and sleep in a designated area on the outskirts, and were not allowed to enter the inner area. They also had to be supervised by kobold overseers while they worked.

Firstly, Winters doesn't trust them yet; secondly, it saves them trouble.

After finishing his business, Winters went back to the dragon's lair to catch up on his sleep; he was quite tired.

When Warlord Walker, the gnoll, saw that the dragon returning to its lair was not a golden dragon, but the very red dragon he had originally intended to kill, he was utterly shocked.

But cowardice is a recurring trait; Walker's spirit had long been shattered by Winters, and now it was even more pronounced.

Thinking of the terrifying dragon's might just now, and the thing flashing in his head, he couldn't muster the slightest thought of resistance.

Thus, the "spiritual victory method" came into being.

Since we were able to submit to the Golden Dragon just now, it seems that it's not impossible to submit to the Red Dragon now as well.

Whether you break into the Emerald Valley or pass the entrance exam, it's all the same. Maybe if you do well in the future, you can even receive the blessing of the Red Dragon and become a noble Dragonblood Gnoll.

And they'll also be able to enter the Emerald Valley, giving them a chance to come into contact with that secret treasure. Who will be whose slave then is still uncertain...

Using this method of self-consolation, Walker nodded and resigned himself to his fate for the time being.

……

"I accept my fate; this technique can indeed only be practiced at sunrise."

Winters murmured to himself as he awoke, a raven feather inscribed with the Pleiades floating before him, emitting a faint glow.

Winters slept for a day and a night before waking up. Upon waking, he first listened to the report from Kru's territory and the movements of the gnolls. After confirming that nothing serious had happened, he sent Kru away.

The exhilarating feeling of breaking through to a higher level of life left him wanting more, so he flew to a secluded spot in the Green Valley to begin cultivating and comprehending the Pleiades Dharma.

After cultivating for a while, he found that under the starry sky, no matter how he cultivated, it was no longer effective, and the spiritual energy he absorbed no longer had the surging and vigorous feeling he had in the morning.

After struggling for more than an hour, his cultivation level made no progress.

"It seems I still have to go to that world and see if there are any taboos or restrictions in the 'Sunrise Law'."

Moreover, if the cultivation techniques in that world are so powerful, the treasures, spiritual medicines, and herbs must be just as good. We can't miss this opportunity.

"We'll have to ask that foul-mouthed crow. Since it claims to be a member of the Feathered Clan from Mount Bafeng, it must know quite a bit."

Winters' vertical pupils flashed with golden light. After a moment's thought, he made his decision.

Then he thought that in that world, spiritual materials and objects might be needed to do things better.

So he got up, flew back to the dragon's nest, dug out ten ginseng roots, and took out two jars of three-flower honey, swallowed them all into his stomach, and disappeared.
