Ming Dynasty: Gain one supernatural power every day

Chapter 257 My Fourth Brother Helps Me

Seeing the Oirat cavalry retreating, Zhu Gaoxu's anger flared up again.

He had just taken the pills, and the effects were still strong. His strength was like a flood that had burst its banks, with nowhere to go.

Asking him to stop now would be worse than killing him.

He grew angrier the more he thought about it, muttering curses under his breath: "Damn it, what kind of good deal is this! They think they can just run away after hitting me? I haven't had my fill yet!"

Anyway, with his fourth brother above him, he simply patted the Tiger King on the back of the neck.

The tiger king roared, raised its head, and with a push of its four paws, the entire tiger rode the somersault cloud and rose into the sky.

Zhu Gaosui was startled to see his second brother fly directly into the sky on a cloud. He quickly urged the Fierce Tiger King to rise into the sky as well, calling out, "Second brother! Where are you going? Wait for me!"

Below, the Oirat cavalry were fleeing for their lives. They had come with great momentum, like a pack of hungry wolves pouncing on a sheepfold, but now they were like wild dogs being chased by a hunter, abandoning their armor and weapons, wishing their horses were fast enough.

Some horses had two people crammed onto their backs, while others had lost their horses and were running wildly across the grass on their own two legs.

Zhu Gaoxu and Zhu Gaosui rode side by side, their two somersault clouds swiftly sweeping forward in the air.

As Zhu Gaoxu flew, he glanced down at the ground, muttering, "This guy is nothing special. He's only been fighting for a short while and he wants to retreat? He's not going to let us off so easily! We must capture him alive today."

"Third brother, keep an eye on things down there and see where that guy is!"

Zhu Gaosui glanced down and saw a dark mass of fleeing Oirat cavalry, their heads thronging together, making it impossible to distinguish one from another.

He replied somewhat guiltily, "Second Brother, can the two of us go after them? Esen's army isn't to be trifled with! Fourth Brother and the others are still behind us!"

As he spoke, he glanced back. Sure enough, Zhu Di, Empress Xu, Zhu Gaoxi, and others were still trailing behind, a good half-mile away.

"Don't worry, third brother. I've already spoken with fourth brother." Zhu Gaoxu chuckled and patted the tiger's head. "You just stick close to your second brother. Today, the two of us brothers will show off our power and let these people see how formidable their ancestors are."

Seeing his confident demeanor, Zhu Gaosui looked back and saw his fourth brother sitting on the cloud chair, with Zhu Di and Empress Xu watching them. There was also Marshal Tianpeng behind them. What was there to be afraid of?

He steeled himself, deciding to ignore everything else, and clenched his fist around the tiger's belly: "Fine! Today, let's brothers show off our power!"

The two rode the clouds at breakneck speed and soon caught up with the main Oirat army.

Zhu Gaoxu could clearly see a group of people in the very center below, whose clothing was completely different from that of the others.

The leader was a burly man, wearing a thick fur cloak and a pointed leather hat adorned with a string of wolf teeth. He was surrounded by a dozen elite guards holding shields.

No need to guess, it's Esen.

"Third brother, look there! The one in the middle, that's Esen!" Zhu Gaoxu pointed downwards with his knife.

Zhu Gaosui looked in the direction he was pointing and recognized it as well: "Yes, judging from the pomp and circumstance and the guards, it should be it."

Zhu Gaoxu took a deep breath, suddenly pulled on the reins, and the Tiger King roared to the sky, its voice like thunder.

He roared, "Esen! Where do you think you're going!"

After saying that, he and the tiger swooped down from the clouds.

As Esen was retreating under the protection of his men, he suddenly heard a thunderous shout overhead, which startled him so much that he instinctively looked up.

Upon seeing this, he felt as if ice water had been poured from his head to his heels.

In mid-air, two white clouds swooped down like roc birds, each riding a fierce tiger with piercing eyes and a white forehead. The tiger's golden eyes shone terrifyingly brightly in the night sky.

The two men on the tiger's back were charging towards him with knives in hand.

"Tengri! Tengri is coming!"

"The Eternal Heaven! The Eternal Heaven is coming!"

"It's over! The Han people have brought down the Eternal Heaven! We can't leave!"

"Gods above, spare my life!"

The surrounding Oirat soldiers immediately erupted into chaos.

They were already fleeing, and now, seeing the fierce tigers and divine beings in the sky, how could they suppress their fear? These people ran around like headless flies, shouting all the while.

Esen, being a formidable figure, suppressed his shock and drew his scimitar, roaring, "No one is allowed to act rashly! That's sorcery! It's a Han Chinese illusion! It's not the Eternal Heaven!"

He shouted loudly, but his hand holding the knife trembled violently.

"Anyone who causes trouble again, I'll chop them down first!" Esen shouted again, finally managing to quell the commotion around him.

He looked up at the two figures in mid-air, gritted his teeth, and shouted, "Who goes there? State your name!"

Zhu Gaoxu and Zhu Gaosui lowered the clouds to mid-air, no more than a few feet above the ground. The Tiger King roared, its four paws treading on the clouds, looking down at Esen from its high position. The Tiger King's head alone was thicker than Esen's waist.

Zhu Gaochi stood on his horse, sword drawn, his voice booming like thunder: "Prince of Han, Zhu Gaochi!"

Zhu Gaosui also said, "Zhao Wang Zhu Gaosui!"

When he first heard those two names, he was taken aback.

He subconsciously rummaged through his mind and quickly remembered that Prince Han, Zhu Gaoxu, and Prince Zhao, Zhu Gaosui, were the sons of Emperor Zhu Di of the Ming Dynasty.

But weren't those two dead long ago? How come they're here again?

Several Oirat generals beside him didn't react immediately, huddling together and whispering, "Who is the King of Han? Who is the King of Zhao? I've never heard of them!"

"I feel like I've heard that name somewhere before... Isn't it a prince from the Ming Dynasty?"

Esen, still filled with doubt and suspicion, forced himself to ask again, "May I ask... are you Zhu Gaoxu, the second son of the Yongle Emperor of the Ming Dynasty, and Zhu Gaosui, the third son of the Yongle Emperor?"

"Exactly!" the two said in unison.

Zhu Gaochi added, "Good that you know! Then quickly tell your men to lay down their weapons, surrender immediately, and come with me!"

Esen's expression shifted several times, then he suddenly sneered, "These two are long dead! How could they possibly be here? They must be demons in disguise!"

He suddenly waved his hand, "Shoot down the arrows! Shoot down these charlatans!"

Upon hearing this, the Oirat soldiers dared not disobey and had no choice but to grit their teeth and draw their bows.

A few of the bolder ones raised their hands and shot the arrows into the air. Others brought out javelins and hurled them fiercely in the direction of the two men.

Zhu Gaosui's expression changed slightly: "Second Brother! They've fired arrows!"

Zhu Gaoxu, however, remained calm and composed. He raised his battle sword to the sky and shouted, "Fourth brother, help me!"

Not far away, Zhu Di and his entourage were riding tigers and clouds, watching the battle. Empress Xu and Zhu Gaochi could see clearly that the Oirat people had already drawn their bows, and a dark mass of arrows and javelins were flying towards Zhu Gaoxu and Zhu Gaosui.

Empress Xu's heart tightened, and her hand unconsciously gripped her sleeve.

In that split second, Zhu Gaoxu's cry of "Fourth brother, help me!" echoed through the night sky.
