Cataclysmic Era: I can unlock the tech tree

The images in the holographic projection changed again.

Hope hurriedly reached out to wipe away the tears of excitement from the corners of her eyes, trying to stare as wide as possible at the scene in front of her.

It's unclear when exactly, but the satellite images in the footage have disappeared, replaced by real-world footage transmitted by drones.

The surface of Dawn Star is characterized by a unique global super storm and extremely high intensity rainfall in a short period of time.

The combination of the two creates an unparalleled power to transform terrain.

The power of nature is on full display at this moment, with wind and water erosion phenomena manifesting themselves to the fullest!

"Is this the A1 Plain?"

Hansent's puzzled voice came from the side.

Hope frowned as she carefully examined the scene in the holographic image, then nodded solemnly.

"It certainly looks like the A1 Plain, but... what about the massive mountain range to the north of the A1 Plain?"

Hope raised her hand in surprise and dragged the progress bar in the holographic projection backward.

He even thought he had missed something on the screen.

This made him think he had come to the wrong place.

The drone continued moving forward, until a shocking scene appeared on camera.

The massive mountain range that stretches between the A1 and A2 plains has shrunk by almost half in size due to the combined effects of storms and torrential rains!

"This..." Hansent rubbed his eyes, momentarily unable to believe the image in the holographic projection. "How is this possible?"

Hope frowned and examined the area carefully. Then, he suddenly realized and said, "That makes sense. Located at the junction of the A1 and A2 plains, this mountain range has been in a storm zone for many years, and the surface rocks have long been weathered beyond recognition."

"Just think about the canyon Hong Fan and his group encountered back then; it was literally blown out of existence by a storm!"

"Look, the weathered rocks on the mountain's surface have been stripped away by storms and rain."

"There are even quite a few metal veins exposed on the surface."

As he spoke, Hope pointed to several areas in the mountains that shimmered with a metallic luster: "These are the mineral deposits that Hong Fan's team discovered back then."

"Elemental iron ore, chalcopyrite..." Hope said, counting on his fingers as if he knew them by heart.

"This torrential rain has actually made the subsequent mining work much easier."

The drone continued to fly forward, and the images in the holographic projection slowly changed accordingly.

When the next scene unfolded before them, Hope's eloquent explanation came to an abrupt halt.

"this!!!"

Hope stared wide-eyed at the holographic projection, even he exclaimed in astonishment, "How is this possible?!"

As for Hansent, he was already staring wide-eyed at the holographic image.

The scene clearly shows the large canyon connecting the A1 and A2 plains that Hong Fan and his team passed through when they were exploring for minerals.

only……

There is no longer any land inside the canyon.

The murky water rushed through the canyon!

The drone's altitude dropped rapidly.

The thunderous sound of the rapids crashing against the canyon walls came through the loudspeaker.

"BOOM!!!"

A loud noise came from the side.

Under Zero's control, the drone quickly adjusted its viewing angle, aiming the camera at the direction from which the sound was coming.

Under the constant impact of the rapids, a huge rock wall slowly broke off and, under the force of gravity, crashed heavily into the turbulent river below, splashing up huge white waves!

"WTF..."

Hansent's eyes twitched slightly as he muttered words from the depths of his memory.

"I remember, this wasn't supposed to be a river channel in the original plan, was it?"

Hope nodded stiffly. To confirm his memory, he even turned on his watch and pulled up the original surface planning map.

The purpose of the canyon is clearly marked on the planning map.

Tourist attractions.

To commemorate the superstorm encountered during humanity's first landing on Dawn Star, the canyon located at the storm's origin has naturally become an important tourist attraction in the planning stages.

In fact, to reflect the difficulties that Hong Fan's team encountered, the Academy of Sciences even prepared a unique tourist activity in the canyon—sandboarding.

Similar to surfing.

During a man-made, powerful storm, visitors can experience the feeling of "flying" across the sand.

only……

In retrospect, this old version of the plan is completely useless.

Hope turned off the watch with a hint of helplessness.

He knew that this situation was probably not uncommon.

Under the immense power of nature, many of the terrain plans that humans prepared in advance have probably become a joke.

The drone quickly climbed to a higher altitude.

The full view of the canyon gradually came into view.

Gradually, Hope saw the source of this phenomenon.

The riverbed on the A2 plain has breached.

Levee breaches are a normal phenomenon under the impact of torrential rains and floods.

After the dam broke, the river water quickly carved out a new channel and rushed into the canyon along the new channel.

The drone footage changed angle again.

After rushing out of the canyon, the turbulent river flows into the A1 plain.

On the A1 plain, the river channel widens considerably, and the water flow becomes gentler.

Finally, the turbidity from the A2 Plain flowed into the new Pacific Ocean.

The holographic display switched again.

Lakes, rivers, oceans...

Time flew by, and the landscape of Dawn Star flashed before everyone's eyes.

But in a place unseen by the public, outside the atmosphere of Dawn Star.

The planetary climate control satellite network has been operating at full capacity ever since.

The atmosphere of Dawn is rich in condensation nuclei.

Those extremely fine dust particles flying all over the sky are the best condensation nuclei.

The arrival of Nero not only brought a large amount of water to the dry ground, but also filled the originally extremely dry air with naturally evaporated water vapor, even after a super heavy rain.

Therefore, the sky is currently overcast, and given the right conditions, another round of global rainfall could begin at any time.

Until the atmosphere of Dawn completely enters a balanced self-circulating state.

This is clearly not what the Academy of Sciences wants to see.

A rainfall event has caused countless rivers to breach their banks.

If only we could have another one...

The Academy of Sciences' hard work over the past six months is likely to be completely wasted!

then……

Even now, a tense atmosphere still pervades the Academy of Sciences.

Under the direction of Zero and a group of scientists, the planetary climate control satellite is continuously accelerating the process of Dawn's atmosphere entering a balanced self-circulating state.

……

More than ten hours later,

The live stream came to an end as the last drone returned to City One.

Outside the window, it was pitch black.

The city's day-night control system has shut down the city's main light sources.

In the dark living room, Hope and Hansent stared motionlessly at the holographic image flickering with faint light in front of them.

A glimmer of hope shone in their eyes.
