On the day the bandages were removed, Jiang Ran sat on the sofa, obediently stretching out her legs for Su Qing to examine.

The scab on my knee has fallen off naturally, and the new skin is a light pinkish-white, which is not quite the same as the surrounding skin color, but it has not left any uneven scars.

Su Qing touched the edge of the white mark very lightly with her fingertip, and only after confirming that the little guy did not pull his leg back or frown did she feel completely relieved.

On the other hand, Cheng Xiaoyu's recovery speed was even faster than his brother had predicted. The bruise on his face had faded to only a small pale yellow mark on his cheekbone, which could not be noticed unless you looked closely.

After the bandages were removed, he rushed to Su Qing's house to report for duty. While changing his shoes at the door, he started shouting, "Little Ran, I've come to play with you!" His voice was so strong that it made the keys on the shoe cabinet in the entryway shake.

However, the way he looks at Su Qing lately is different from before.

It used to be the sparkly kind of "pretty sister, I like you" kind of light, but now there's an added layer of more complex radiance, the kind of awe-inspiring admiration that comes from seeing someone go from "good-looking" to "strong".

He witnessed firsthand how Su Qing slapped the homeroom teacher so hard he flew out of the office. That scene left an extremely deep impression on his young mind, and its shock was probably second only to the first time he ate a triple cheeseburger.

So now he tries to get close to Su Qing whenever he has the chance.

But every time he took just two steps, Jiang Ran would appear in his path in an extremely natural way, without any trace of deliberate effort.

Sometimes he would "just happen" to bend down and tie his shoelaces, sometimes he would "just happen" to turn around and get a watercolor pen from the coffee table, and sometimes he would simply do nothing at all, just stand quietly beside Su Qing, holding the lop-eared rabbit, and calmly look at Cheng Xiaoyu with his big black eyes.

That look, translated, probably means, "My sister is mine, you step back."

After being blocked by that gaze four or five times, Cheng Xiaoyu's mouth was crooked, but he couldn't say anything.

After all, Xiao Ran didn't do anything; she just happened to be standing there.

It felt like punching cotton – he had the strength but nowhere to use it. He scratched the back of his head and circled around the center of the living room twice before finally plopping down on the carpet with a long sigh.

Jiang Ran lowered her head, and a tiny, barely perceptible smile appeared on her lips.

The system gently prompted Su Qing in her mind: [Jiang Ran's mood index has increased by eighteen percentage points compared to this morning, and is currently in the pleasant range. The reason is speculated to be related to the increased frequency of interaction with Cheng Xiaoyu.]

Su Qing nodded inwardly, watching the two little ones, one sitting on the carpet sulking and the other quietly leaning against the sofa, hugging a rabbit with a slight smile on his face. He thought to himself that it was indeed better to have a playmate of the same age.

They didn't even notice when Jiang Ran's upturned lips appeared.

It was in this delicate atmosphere that Chengxuyan pushed open the door and entered.

He unusually didn't wear that hoodie, but changed into a dark blue short-sleeved shirt and light gray trousers. He stood in the entryway and nodded to Su Qing as a greeting.

Su Qing glanced at him, thinking to herself that the sun must have risen in the west today, as this young master of the Cheng family, who never leaves his home, actually took the initiative to come to her door.

Then, in a calm tone, as if reporting on work progress, Cheng Yuyan said something that made everyone present pause for a moment: "Are you free this weekend? Take the two little ones to the amusement park."

Cheng Xiaoyu was the first to react, jumping up from the floor like a lit cannonball: "Amusement park! I want to ride the roller coaster! I want to eat cotton candy!" Jiang Ran's eyes also lit up, but she wasn't as outgoing as Cheng Xiaoyu. She just leaned half her body out from the sofa, looking up at Su Qing with her eyes full of "want to go".

Su Qing certainly wanted to go.

Xiao Ran had never been to an amusement park. The furthest she had ever been to amusement parks since being discharged from the hospital was the slide and sandpit in her neighborhood. Carousels and Ferris wheels were still just concepts she had seen on TV.

It's a good time for her to take a break and for the little one to go out and have some fun.

She looked at Jiang Ran's expectant eyes and nodded.

Then she and Cheng Xiaoyu simultaneously turned their gazes to Cheng Xuyan.

Cheng Xiaoyu's face was still flushed with excitement, but his eyes held a very obvious scrutiny that belonged to a younger brother when he looked at his brother: "Brother, are you sure? There are girls everywhere in the amusement park."

Upon hearing this, the program expertly pulled a black mask out of his pocket and put it on. He then pulled up the hood of his hoodie and pulled it over his head, with the brim pulled below his eyebrows, revealing only a pair of indifferent eyes.

The entire set of movements was fluid and graceful, as if it had been repeated countless times.

"We can still go," he said, his voice muffled through his mask. "The main thing is to take them out to have fun, so we adults can relax too."

Cheng Xiaoyu blinked, looked up at his brother's face, which was covered by a mask and hat brim, leaving only two slits. Suddenly, his big eyes rolled, and the corners of his mouth turned up in a visible arc.

Su Qing recognized that smile; it was the same expression the chubby boy wore whenever he was plotting something naughty.

He walked up to Su Qing, his round belly protruding, and patted his stomach with his chubby hands, making two dull thuds. His tone carried a sense of righteous indignation: "Don't worry, Sister Su, since my brother said so, he'll definitely be fine! Even if something happens, it doesn't matter, let him suffer it himself! The three of us will have a good time!"

Su Qing paused for a moment while holding the water glass.

She glanced at Cheng Xiaoyu's face, which was practically screaming "hehehe," then at the man standing in the entryway, his eyes beneath the brim of his hat revealing a strained, almost manic, impulse. In her mind, she said to the system, "Is this my younger brother?"

The system's response carried an almost helpless tone, reflecting its data analysis: [DNA match is 99.9%, he is the younger brother.]

Cheng Xuyan closed his eyes briefly, then opened them two seconds later, letting out a barely audible deep breath from under his mask.

My younger brother.

Don't kill them.

He silently repeated it twice in his mind, then raised his eyes and swept them over Cheng Xiaoyu, who was still patting his belly, with those indifferent eyes. His tone was as calm as a stagnant pool: "Fine, then you can watch us eat the cotton candy later."

Upon hearing this, Cheng Xiaoyu's smile instantly froze on his face.
