Big nodded.

Lin Jia understood: "Then you guys sleep in the living room, don't stay up late."

The Border Collie and the Beagle both nodded obediently.

The two owners felt at ease letting their two dogs sleep in the living room.

Lin Jia and Sun Bai both went back to their rooms.

Lan Xiaoxiao immediately started playing around with Chu Yi, without making a sound. They would pounce on each other, kicking the carpet until it shifted.

I'm so excited because they rarely spend the night together.

They would take a walk together during the day, then go home, perhaps to Lin Jia's house or Sun Bai's house, take a nap and play together, and then go home separately in the evening.

When she got tired of playing, the Beagle lay down on the ground panting, and the Border Collie lay down and cradled her with its two front paws.

"I'm so happy on the first day of the Lunar New Year. It's so wonderful to be with you every day."

As a carefree little animal, with her boyfriend Chu Yi by her side, Lan Xiaoxiao was bubbling with happiness every day.

My child in the first year of junior high can now understand half of the little cutie's babbling, and it responds with a soft whimper.

The two dogs are sleeping together.

The breath from the mouth tube was hot and moist, and Big's big ears covered his eyes; he quickly fell asleep.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, he was constantly panting and didn't fall asleep until very late.

The second day is for rest, and the competition will be held on the third day.

On her day off, besides going to the nearby park, Lan Xiaoxiao went for a professional-grade facial. She dressed up beautifully and smelled wonderful.

I also got a show-quality grooming treatment on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Border Collies are long-haired dogs, and after the wash and grooming, the whole dog was fluffy and its fur was shiny and smooth.

"The first day of the new semester is really beautiful," Lin Jia exclaimed.

Lan Xiaoxiao knew that Chu Yi was handsome, but Chu Yi after the competition-level nursing care was even more handsome!

So clean, smells wonderful, and looks like a handsome Border Collie.

Lan Xiaoxiao is obsessed with Chu Yi, and Chu Yi is also obsessed with the little cutie. The two dogs are constantly rubbing against each other and giving each other kisses.

Sun Bai said, "They really like each other."

Lin Jia: "They're a perfect match." Yes, even this old mother ships the two dogs as a couple.

On the day of the competition, long queues formed at the entrance of the S City Convention Center. There was no way around it; the security check was a bit slow. Dogs of various breeds moved slowly forward on their owners' leashes.

For major Asian sporting events, security checks at the venues are very strict, with police officers and police dogs patrolling outside to ensure safety.

Lan Xiaoxiao looked at the police dog curiously several times.

The police of the canine world.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year, as usual, he wore a support shirt with Lan Xiaoxiao's photo printed on it and went out, following Lan Xiaoxiao's side.

The little beagle has neatly trimmed ears, smooth hair on its head, and a faint floral scent.

"There are so many people." Sun Bai glanced around.

"This is an Asian competition, it's on a different scale than the last one, and there are many foreign referees," Lin Jia said.

After entering the venue, Lin Jia took Lan Xiaoxiao to the waiting area. Chu Yi squatted by the audience seats outside the waiting area, with Sun Bai sitting next to him. Chu Yi put his two front paws on the railing, his mouth was stuck in the gap of the railing, and his eyes were fixed on the field.

The Beagle in the youth group is in the middle of this round.

Lan Xiaoxiao was placed on the judging panel. The judge was a middle-aged white woman in a dark gray suit. She first walked around Lan Xiaoxiao and looked her over from top to bottom.

The beagle stands still with its tail held horizontally, chin slightly tucked in, ears hanging naturally on both sides, front legs perpendicular, and hind legs slightly pushed back, in a standard posture.

The referee crouched down and gently touched Big's back, from his shoulder blades all the way to his tail, then pinched the bones of his forelegs to check the depth of his chest cavity.

She stood up, took two steps back, and surveyed the area from all angles.

The referee made a few notes on the scoreboard and then nodded to the staff on the sidelines.

"She's so cute," the referee said in broken Chinese.

Lin Jia heard this, smiled, and said thank you for the compliment.

"The referee nodded, so it seems the result is good," Sun Bai said to Chu Yi.

The first-year student had been watching the competition intently, and hearing this made him happy.

My little cutie is definitely capable; she has the best looks in the world!

"Next, the gunshot test!"

The broadcast sounded, and a soundproof panel stood in the corner of the venue, where a staff member stood holding a starting pistol.

Many owners became nervous.

This is the part they fear the most.

In the gunshot test, the referee will fire a gun on the spot, making a sudden loud noise, and then observe the dogs' reactions.

Many dogs can't get past this hurdle...

One owner was very nervous, holding the leash, bending down to stroke his dog's head, and whispering, "Don't be afraid, don't move for a while, don't be afraid."

The owner of a golden retriever squatted down and hugged the dog's neck, saying, "It's okay, it's just a little noise. Let's hang in there." The golden retriever was infected by its owner's emotions and tucked its tail between its legs.

Lin Jia isn't worried; her baby is incredibly brave!

Seeing that the other owners were comforting their dogs, Lin Jia also patted Beagle's head. Lan Xiaoxiao tilted her head, grinned at Lin Jia, and stuck out her tongue to lick Lin Jia's finger.

The referee stood in the center of the field and raised his hand to signal.

The entire room fell silent for a moment.

"Bang!!"

Gunshots rang out in the enclosed venue!

The golden retriever jerked violently, its front paws taking a half-step back. A poodle shrank back, its ears flattened, its expression one of fear. A greyhound ran off, its owner chasing after it all over the place. The beagle crouched in place, its ears twitching slightly, its mouth grinning, its body completely still.

The poodle owner next to Lan Xiaoxiao glanced at her and whispered to the person next to him, "That beagle did a really good job, the gunshot didn't even shake."

"Look, it's still smiling. Isn't that a beagle? Aren't beagles usually quite stressed? This one is too calm."

Some people were extremely envious.

"That dog is really bold."

The referee glanced at Lan Xiaoxiao, wrote a few more strokes on the scoreboard, and looked satisfied.

During the demonstration, dog owners led their dogs around the arena, showcasing their gait and posture.

Lan Xiaoxiao was displayed at the end of the line, so Lin Jia took her to play with Chu Yi for a while, even though they were separated by a railing.

Through the fence, the Border Collie licked the Beagle's cheek and whined in support.

Beagle wagged its tail and hopped around.

They watched other dog shows together; the place was full of show-quality dogs, it was a real treat to see.

Soon it was Lan Xiaoxiao's turn.

Lin Jia led her to her seat.

Before the demonstration began, Lin Jia squatted down and untied the leash, a move that stunned the judges and audience around her.

"Without a leash?"

"Are you that confident?"

"My God, this is a Bigger!"

Lan Xiaoxiao stood still and glanced at Lin Jia with her head tilted.

Lin Jia took two steps back and clapped her hands twice. Lan Xiaoxiao ran towards her with small, quick steps. After running a couple of steps, she slowed down and changed to a showy gait, lifting her front leg high and taking light, quick steps.

People outside the arena noticed: "She's not on a leash? That's a beagle, amazing!"

The person next to him chimed in, "Isn't that Little One from the internet? I've seen its videos, and it seems incredibly smart for a dog. Seeing it in person today is even more unbelievable."

"You're only noticing now? I saw it during the gunshot test earlier. It wasn't afraid at all and was smiling the whole time."

Lin Jia, dressed in a light-colored cheongsam with her hair up and adorned with a wooden hairpin, led the way, with Beagle following behind, demonstrating the perfect harmony between owner and pet.

When they stopped, Lin Jia didn't fasten the rope. Bigger stood with his legs pressed together the whole time, being super well-behaved.

After all the dogs were displayed, the judges gathered to begin a discussion.

The owners and dogs waited anxiously.

After an unknown amount of time, the head referee returned to the center of the field, picked up the microphone, and announced: "The overall champion of the JBIS Youth Division is—Little Beagle!"

Instantly, gasps of surprise filled the air, followed by applause from many of the fans and a wave of applause from the spectator area.

Lin Jia squatted down and patted Lan Xiaoxiao's head: "Did you hear that?"

Big licked Lin Jia's finger and grinned.

Chu Yi stood up from the audience, wagging its tail rapidly. Sun Bai had to tug on its leash to prevent it from rushing onto the field.

After the award ceremony, the staff handed over a scorecard and gave Lan Xiaoxiao a small medal to hang around her neck.

Lin Jia held the scorecard, looked down at it. It was a JCC card, printed with the match number, group, referee's signature, and champion's points.

Lan Xiaoxiao squatted down beside her feet, the medal around her neck dangling and swaying.

The first-year student finally ran over, rushed up, lowered his head to smell the medal on her neck, and then licked her ear.

Sun Bai walked over, still holding an action camera to record the scene; he was truly dedicated.

The head referee couldn't resist coming over for a photo and petting the puppy: "Ms. Lin Jia, congratulations! Your dog is fantastic. In all my years as a referee, I've rarely seen a beagle with such excellent stability."
