The next morning, Yunheting went to court early.

Yunxiu and Yunlang both came to Qingshuiyuan to have breakfast with Chu Wanqing.

Yun Lang didn't sleep well last night after hearing what Chu Wanqing told him, and his eyes were a little dark.

Upon seeing Yunxiu, he felt a mix of emotions. No wonder he had never been able to feel close to this older sister before; it turned out she wasn't his biological sister at all.

Remembering what his mother had said to him, he greeted her as usual, "Good morning, big sister!"

Yunxiu nodded slightly, as always: "Good morning, Lang-ge'er!"

Yun Lang looked at Yun Jin again, his feelings complicated. No wonder he felt a sense of familiarity when he saw her before; it turned out that this was his own sister. He bowed respectfully and said, "Good morning, sister." His voice was so low that only he and Yun Jin could hear it.

Seeing his favorability rating rise from 35% to 68%, Yun Jin knew he already knew the truth. It seemed he genuinely liked her as his older sister. She replied earnestly, "Good morning, little brother!"

Chu Wanqing looked at Yun Lang with a pang of heartache. Everything had changed overnight. Her father was no longer like a father, her sister was no longer like a sister, and he himself had been poisoned by them, leaving him weak and sickly.

She sighed and said, "Lang Ge'er didn't sleep well last night, did he? Go take a nap after breakfast."

Yun Lang shook his head: "Mother, I've always been in poor health, but I'm feeling better recently and want to spend more time with you and my sister."

Chu Wanqing understood what he meant and said softly, "Lang-ge'er, your health is the most important thing. Go and rest after you finish eating. There are many days ahead of you."

Yun Lang then nodded.

He didn't sleep well last night; what Chu Wanqing said overturned his understanding of things he had accumulated over thirteen years.

He realized that his poor health was due to poisoning. He hated Liu Zhixue, his mistress, and even more so Yun Heting, his biological father. He wondered what he had done to offend Yun Heting so much that he wanted to kill him.

Yunxiu watched from the side, feeling that the atmosphere today was a bit strange, but she couldn't quite put her finger on what was wrong.

After dinner, Yun Jin said to Chu Wanqing, "Mother, Sister Mengyao invited me to go to the street to see what's happening today. I'd like to go out and take a look, is that alright?"

Chu Wanqing glanced at her, somewhat worried: "The streets are crowded and chaotic today."

Yun Jin smiled and said, "Mother, don't worry. Sister Mengyao has booked a private room at Fumanlou. We won't go anywhere; we'll just watch the excitement from the window."

Chu Wanqing nodded: "Then you stay close to Mengyao, I'll have Qinghe and Chai Qing follow you."

Upon hearing this, Yunxiu quickly added, "Mother, I want to go too. Can I go with my second sister? I heard that Prince Yu is returning to the capital today, and I'd like to go and see what's going on."

Chu Wanqing shook her head: "Go if you want. Jin'er was invited by Mengyao, and I can't make the decision for them."

Yunxiu then turned to Yunjin: "Second sister, may I go with you?"

Yun Jin glanced at the -55% favorability rating above her head, smiled, and said in a tone that was neither too soft nor too hard, "If you want to go, I have no problem. I just don't know if there's enough room in the car for you, Sister Mengyao."

She couldn't avoid dealing with Yunxiu. Since she was going to fight, she had to understand her opponent first. Knowing yourself and your enemy is the key to victory.

Yunxiu was somewhat annoyed, feeling that Yunjin was being disrespectful. She was the eldest daughter of the Minister of Rites, yet Yunjin dared to show her such disrespect.

She said awkwardly, "It's alright, I can take the carriage at the manor. When Sister Mengyao arrives later, I'll tell her myself, 'Mother, I'm going back to change my clothes first.'"

After saying that, he got up and walked out.

Chu Wanqing watched her retreating figure, frowned, and said, "Don't take her with you. You'll only cause yourself trouble."

Yun Jin gently comforted her, "Mother, you can't kick her out of the manor, and I'll have to deal with her all the time. It's better to confront her openly than let her trip me up behind my back."

Chu Wanqing sighed: "Yes, Yun Heting is counting on her to rise to prominence, how could he bear to kick her out?"

This is indeed true, and it's what leaves Chu Wanqing feeling helpless.

Yun Jin went back to her room to change her clothes, and not long after she finished changing, Chen Mengyao came to pick her up in person.

Seeing Yun Jin come out of the main gate, she smiled and got off the carriage to greet her.

Just as she was about to speak, she saw Yun Xiu behind her, her expression changed slightly, and she looked at Yun Jin, mouthing, "Why is she here?"

Before Yun Jin could speak, Yun Xiu had already moved closer, curtsied to Chen Mengyao, and said warmly, "Sister Mengyao, may I come with you?"

Chen Mengyao glanced at her, her smile fading slightly: "My carriage is small, it can't fit so many people."

Yunxiu seemed oblivious to her expression and smiled, saying, "It's alright, I'll just ride in the manor's carriage and follow behind you."

Helpless, Chen Mengyao said, "Follow if you want," and pulled Yun Jin towards the car.

Yunxiu wasn't annoyed at all, and happily followed behind, getting into her own carriage.

Two carriages, one after the other, drove onto the street.

Chen Mengyao held Yun Jin's hand in the car and whispered, "Why did you bring her along?"

Yun Jin smiled and said, "I don't want to take her with me. She said she would tell you herself. If I don't take her, she'll have to find another way to go, so it's better to take her with me."

I later realized that I would inevitably have to deal with her while living in the manor. Since there was no way to avoid it, why should I? I wasn't the one doing anything wrong.

Chen Mengyao nodded: "You're right. But I guess Lord Yun wouldn't be willing to give her up, after all, she's being raised according to the standards of a noble lady in the capital, and he might even want her to join the royal family."

Yun Jin was surprised that Chen Mengyao was so insightful, so she smiled and said, "That's right, she is the eldest daughter of the Yun family."

The two looked at each other and burst into laughter.

After laughing, the two started talking about other things. Time flew by as they chatted all the way.

The carriage soon stopped in front of the Fumanlou restaurant on Chang'an Avenue.

Chen Mengyao and Yun Jin got out of the car, and a waiter came up to greet them and led them upstairs.

"Miss Chen, your private room is on the second floor, facing the main street, it's the best location." The waiter jogged along, his face beaming.

Chen Mengyao nodded and pulled Yun Jin upstairs. Yun Xiu followed closely behind, leading Granny Qi.

The private room on the second floor was small, but elegantly decorated. Although it was winter, the room was very warm, with a fire wall built in the corner, making it cozy as soon as you entered.

The window faces the street, and opening it reveals a panoramic view of the entire long street. The street is bustling with activity, with pedestrians and merchants crowding both sides. The teahouses and taverns on both sides are also full, all waiting to witness the triumphant return of Prince Yu.

The three sat down by the window. Yun Jin pushed open the window and looked down. The street was bustling with people and very lively.

Chen Mengyao leaned closer and whispered, "I heard that Prince Yu won a great victory this time, and the Emperor is overjoyed and is going to hold a banquet in the palace to celebrate."

Yun Jin asked curiously, "Really? Will you go?"
