We agreed it was just a hug, why did you actually do it?
Chapter 11 Three Porridges
Tang Shaowu hadn't expected Su Weile to suddenly come over and massage his acupoints. Before he could stop her, her hand was already being held, and then his Hegu acupoint was pressed. Tang Shaowu's entire body tensed, and his brows furrowed tightly.
Su Weile's fingers gradually increased the pressure, from light to heavy. Her eyes were fixed on their intertwined hands as she massaged them intently.
After a while, he looked up at Tang Shaowu and saw a face without a smile and his tightly furrowed brows.
Su Weile noticed that she had almost never seen Tang Shaowu without a smile. He was different when he wasn't smiling. When he was serious, he seemed much more mature and composed, but there was a strange sense of authenticity about him. He wasn't as enigmatic as he usually was.
Su Weile smiled and said, "Does it hurt a little? Just bear with it. Pressing this acupoint requires a bit of force. We don't have acupuncture here. If we did, a needle would be more effective."
Tang Shaowu's smile vanished, and he fell silent. He simply stared at Su Weile without saying a word.
Su Weile didn't mind and simply switched to her other hand, massaging in the same way.
Tang Shaowu's eyes never left Su Weile's face; he kept looking at him until Su Weile finished pressing both hands and gently placed his hands on the blanket.
He smiled and stared at the expressionless Tang Shaowu for a minute before lazily asking, "Respected Young Master Tang, why are you staring at me like that?"
Tang Shaowu finally spoke in a low voice, "Have you always been this nice to everyone? No matter who it is?"
Su Weile smiled and said, "This is nothing, just a small favor. Besides, I'm a criminal, aren't I?"
Tang Shaowu leaned his head back against the cushion and chuckled softly. Su Weile stared in astonishment, thinking that Tang Shaowu's smile at that moment was the most beautiful he had ever seen.
Tang Shaowu gently closed his eyes and whispered, "I'm a little hungry."
Su Weile immediately stood up and said, "Okay, I'll go buy it right away. What do you want to eat?"
Tang Shaowu said, "There's food on the table. Could you heat up the porridge for me?"
Su Weile then noticed that there were many dishes on the table, just like yesterday's breakfast—all very elaborate and looking delicious. Su Weile randomly selected two and heated them up in the microwave.
"You can't just drink porridge, have some vegetables too."
After the food was laid out, Tang Shaowu did not get up immediately. He remained leaning against the pillows with his eyes gently closed. It was already dark outside. Su Weile walked to the bedside and turned on the bedside lamp. When she turned her head, she saw Tang Shaowu's temples in the light, where the veins were throbbing.
Su Weile frowned deeply. She called out softly, "Young Master Tang? Have something to eat."
There was no response. Su Weile waited for almost two minutes before she heard Tang Shaowu's voice, which was softer than usual, "I don't want to eat now."
Su Weile picked up the porridge, blew on it while sitting down next to Tang Shaowu, and, feeling that the porridge was not too hot, put it to Tang Shaowu's lips, saying, "I know you have a headache, but you can't not eat. You didn't eat lunch, did you? And you didn't eat dinner either? I see there's enough food for two meals on the table. Open your mouth."
With a splitting headache, Tang Shaowu barely opened his eyes and said irritably, "Get out of here, I'm not eating."
Su Weile pursed her lips, still holding the porridge to Tang Shaowu's lips. "You have to eat. You have to eat three bites. Then I'll leave."
The two men glared at each other fiercely, neither willing to back down. The intense pain fueled Tang Shaowu's rage; he snapped, "Su Weile, you're a fucking idiot! I said I'm not eating, so get out of here..."
Before Tang Shaowu could finish speaking, Su Weile quickly put a spoonful of porridge into his mouth. Tang Shaowu never expected Su Weile to do this and froze on the spot. His eyes widened, and he gasped for breath. However, his upbringing made it impossible for him to spit out food in front of others, nor could he argue with someone while his mouth was full.
Tang Shaowu suppressed his immense anger, chewed fiercely, and quickly swallowed what was in his mouth. Su Weile, having already fed him the first spoonful, had already bent down to prepare the second spoonful—a spoonful of porridge topped with a large shrimp.
Just as he was ready, Tang Shaowu swallowed the first bite. He had anticipated Tang Shaowu's rage, but Tang Shaowu had not expected that Su Weile would dare to use the same trick again.
So, the moment Tang Shaowu opened his mouth, Su Weile's second mouthful of porridge was already delivered smoothly. This time, he wasn't even allowed to speak.
This time, Tang Shaowu was so angry he laughed. He chewed his food in one swift motion while looking at Su Weile with a sinister smile.
Su Weile smiled, her expression sunny and cheerful. "Don't look at me so angrily. I said three bites, and I meant three bites. There's only one bite left. If you eat it willingly, there'll be a reward. If you don't, I have plenty of ways to catch you off guard again."
Su Weile was determined to win. From childhood, he had always refused to take medicine because he was afraid of the bitterness, but his grandmother had used this method to make him completely obedient. He knew all too well that he would be furious after the first bite, but by the second bite he would be somewhat convinced, and usually he would take it and drink it all by himself in no more than three bites.
Sure enough, on the third bite, as soon as the spoon touched him, Tang Shaowu opened his mouth. Su Weile smiled and said, "Isn't that good? It's just three bites, not three bowls. It's better to eat it obediently sooner."
Then, while tidying up the bedside table, she instructed, "You're still feeling unwell, so just eat something first. Otherwise, I'm worried you'll throw up, which would make you feel even worse. Eat more when you feel better later, and be sure to tell me whenever you want to eat."
Tang Shaowu was really feeling unwell, so he didn't argue with him. He then lay back down on the bed, and strangely enough, after eating, his head seemed to feel less painful. He didn't know if it was from the anger earlier or the effect of the food, but he drifted off to sleep again. This time, because his headache was easing, he slept very comfortably and soundly.
So much so that when Su Weile finished tidying up and came back, she gently lowered the bed for him and put his hands back under the covers, but he didn't even feel it.
The special care ward in the general hospital is located at the very end of the corridor and has the best environment of all the wards. At night, although the hospital is still busy, it is relatively quiet here.
The moment Tang Shaowu opened his eyes, he was fully conscious. He first glanced at the clock on the wall, and then, with the help of the light shining from the corridor, he was surprised to find that he had actually slept for so long.
Then he saw Su Weile still in the armchair, a young man, dressed smartly, curled up uncomfortably, sleeping peacefully. Tang Shaowu just watched quietly.
Then I watched helplessly as he, in his sleep, rolled over and fell to the ground with a thud. Then a wail erupted.
Tang Shaowu quietly watched Su Weile rubbing her shoulders and head. He chuckled and muttered a curse.
"What a silly little thing."
