Chapter 577 The Reality Coordinates Have Been Exposed
In the rearview mirror, black smoke rose from the direction of the textile factory.
She touched the USB drive in her pocket.
After returning to her residence, Han Yingying put on her helmet and prepared to log into the game.
A system notification sounded in my mind.
Your account has been locked.
[Real-world coordinates have been revealed.]
The cleanup team is on its way.
Han Yingying sat in the driver's seat of the SUV. Red text flashed on the helmet screen.
Account locked.
[Real-world coordinates exposed.]
The cleanup team is on its way.
She took off her helmet and tossed it onto the leather seat in the passenger seat.
Fog rolled in outside the car window. The white river mist turned into a thick gray fog. Visibility was less than five meters.
This car is no good. The vehicle's GPS has been locked. She knows Changsheng Bio's tracking technology very well; an encirclement will be formed within ten minutes.
She walked to the back of the car, opened the trunk, and took out a long, black canvas bag. She unzipped it. Inside were a disassembled tactical composite bow, two carbon steel short knives, and a box of armor-piercing ammunition.
She tucked the dagger into either side of her belt. The composite bow was assembled and slung over her back. She removed the pistol from its regular magazine and loaded it with armor-piercing rounds.
Three people wearing black raincoats emerged from the gray fog.
There was no sound of footsteps. The soles of the shoes made no sound at all on the asphalt.
Han Yingying closed the trunk.
She needs to get out of here. Find a safe network connection to reconnect to the game. These three people are blocking the only exit.
She raised her pistol, aimed at the man in the middle's head, and pulled the trigger.
A gunshot rang out. The bullet pierced the hood of the raincoat.
The man didn't fall. He raised his head.
There was no face beneath the hood. Instead, there was a black mass of flesh. A slit split open in the middle of the mass, revealing a dense array of sharp teeth.
A low-level parasite from a game. It has appeared in reality.
Han Yingying took two steps back.
Her brain quickly calculated the distance. Ten meters.
The person in the raincoat on the right rushed over. Their speed far exceeded that of an ordinary person. Potholes were trampled into the asphalt road.
Han Yingying remained calm. She discovered that her dynamic vision had improved. The raincoat man's movements appeared slower to her.
Her agility in the game has carried over into real life.
She turned to the side. The person in the raincoat grasped at empty air. That hand had no skin, only red muscle fibers. The fingernails were black, bony hangnails.
Han Yingying drew the short knife from her left waist and stabbed it into the raincoat man's armpit.
The blade sliced through muscle. Black liquid spurted out, splashing onto the ground and emitting white smoke. Small holes were corroded into the asphalt.
She twisted her wrist. The blade slashed upwards, severing the shoulder joint.
The man in the raincoat let his arms hang down.
Han Yingying raised her leg. The steel toe of her military boot struck the side of the man in the raincoat's knee. The sound of bones breaking rang out.
The person in the raincoat fell to the ground.
The person in the raincoat on the left lunged forward.
Han Yingying ducked to avoid the bullet. She pressed the pistol against the man's stomach and fired three shots.
The armor-piercing projectile penetrated the flesh.
The man paused. Several black tentacles emerged from the wound on his stomach and wrapped around the barrel of the pistol.
Han Yingying released the pistol and jumped back.
Take the composite bow off your back. Nock an arrow. Draw it fully.
Her arm strength had increased. She could draw a sixty-pound bow with ease.
The arrow was aimed at the man's head. He released his grip.
An arrow pierced the tumor, pinning the man to a lamppost behind it.
The man in the raincoat, who had been shot in the head, walked over. His raincoat was torn, revealing a swollen body underneath. Black scales emerged from beneath his skin.
Han Yingying drew the second arrow.
She needs to finish this quickly. Gunfire will attract more monsters.
She aimed at the monster's chest. That was the core of the parasite.
Shooting arrows.
The arrow pierced its chest. The monster fell to the ground. It twitched twice, then lay still.
Han Yingying walked over, picked up the pistol, and shook off the black slime.
She looked at the corpse on the ground.
The plan for the arrival of immortal beings is progressing faster than she anticipated. The physical laws of reality are being altered.
She turned and walked toward the building on the side of the road.
The sky turned dark red, just like the transit station in the game.
Reality and the game overlap.
She walked into a convenience store.
The convenience store owner was slumped over the checkout counter. A white bone blade was stuck in his back.
Han Yingying walked over. She pulled out the bone blade. She examined the cut. Smooth. One strike, one kill.
It was the Blackscale Monster from the game that did it.
She walked to the shelf, grabbed two bottles of mineral water and a few pieces of high-calorie chocolate, and stuffed them into her tactical backpack. She needed to replenish her energy.
The glass door of the convenience store was pushed open.
Two students in school uniforms ran in. One was a boy and the other a girl.
The boy was holding the girl's hand. Both of their faces were covered in blood.
"Help!" the boy cried out to Han Yingying.
Han Yingying didn't speak. She looked out the door.
A black-scaled monster followed them and crawled into the convenience store.
Han Yingying drew her short knife.
Her goal was to eliminate the threat and steal a car.
She walked towards the monster.
The monster brandished its bone blade, knocking over the nearby beverage cooler. Glass shattered everywhere.
Han Yingying ducked to avoid it. The short knife pierced the monster's leg joint.
The monster roared. Another hand reached out to grab it.
Han Yingying drew her knife. She circled behind the monster and slashed open the back of its neck with the blade.
Black liquid flowed out. The monster collapsed.
The boy and girl were hiding behind the potato chip shelf, shivering.
"Are there any more outside?" Han Yingying asked.
"There are many," the boy said. "They're everywhere. They kill anyone they see."
Han Yingying opened a bottle of water and took a sip.
She looked at the monitor above the shelf.
On the monitor, the street was in chaos. Cars were colliding. Monsters were slaughtering the crowd.
She threw the water bottle into the trash can.
"Where are your car keys?" Han Yingying asked the boss about the corpse.
She found a Wuling Hongguang car key in the cashier's drawer.
She stepped out of the convenience store and pressed the key. The headlights of a silver van parked on the side of the road turned on.
She opened the car door and got into the driver's seat.
The boy and girl ran out. They opened the back door and climbed in.
Han Yingying didn't kick them off the bus. Two more people could be used as bait if they encountered a monster.
She started the van and drove towards the city center.
The streets were filled with abandoned vehicles. Han Yingying turned the steering wheel, avoiding the obstacles.
A monster jumped onto the windshield of the van.
The bone blade struck the glass, causing a crack.
Han Yingying stepped on the gas. The bread truck crashed into the utility pole in front of it.
The monster was thrown out.
Han Yingying shifted into reverse. She reversed. Then she shifted back into drive. She ran over the monster.
The car jolted. The sound of bones breaking echoed into the passenger compartment.
The girl in the back seat screamed.
"Shut up," Han Yingying said. "Say it again and I'll throw you down."
The girl covered her mouth. Tears streamed down her face.
Han Yingying looked in the rearview mirror. Her head ached.
Some images flashed through my mind.
She saw herself wearing a silver-white mecha suit, holding a blue lightsaber in her hand.
Standing in a huge circular room.
Before me was a transparent sphere. Inside, black liquid churned.
Reactor.
She had seen the reaction vessel. Not today. Long ago.
In the picture, a man is standing next to her. The man has his back to her. He is wearing a black trench coat.
"The underlying logic is deadlocked." The man's voice echoed in my mind. "We can't get out."
