A system notification sounded.

[Slay the Stitches monster. Gain experience.]

Han Yingying walked over and rummaged through the scraps of meat.

She found a blood-stained access card.

[Level 2 Access Card.]

"Let's go," Han Yingying said.

They went up the stairs to the second floor.

The second floor consists of rows of cells. The cell doors are made of transparent glass.

Behind the glass. Many people are locked up.

These people were wearing hospital gowns. Their eyes were vacant. Some parts of their bodies had been replaced with mechanical parts.

Han Yingying walked up to a cell and looked at the people inside.

Inside was a little girl. About ten years old. Her left arm was mechanical.

The little girl looked at Han Yingying. Her expression was blank.

Han Yingying suddenly felt a headache.

A scene from a memory flashed by.

She saw herself. Ten years old. Wearing a hospital gown. Standing in a laboratory.

Han Fei stood in front of her, holding a syringe in his hand.

"Yingying, just bear with it," Han Fei said. His face was very pale.

"Brother, I'm scared," said ten-year-old Han Yingying.

"Don't be afraid. This can save you." Han Fei inserted the syringe into her arm.

The blue liquid was pushed into her veins.

The screen disappeared.

Han Yingying covered her head and leaned against the glass.

"Boss, what's wrong?" Ah Jie walked over.

"It's nothing." Han Yingying straightened up. Her face was a little pale.

She looked at the little girl in the cell. The little girl's face overlapped with her own in her memory.

"These are experimental records from ten years ago," Han Yingying said. "Zero was using living people for experiments."

Lin Qi stood not far away, watching Han Yingying.

Lin Qi thought. Something was wrong with her reaction. She recognized this place.

"Keep going." Han Yingying turned around and walked forward.

At the end of the corridor was a metal door. There was a card reader on the door.

Han Yingying took out the level-two access card and swiped it on the card reader.

The door opened.

Inside was a huge archive room. Rows and rows of bookshelves were filled with paper documents.

"Find project proposals from ten years ago," Han Yingying said.

The six people dispersed and began searching on the bookshelf.

Wang Jianguo grumbled as he flipped through the documents. "Who still uses paper documents these days? They're such a pain to find."

"Paper documents cannot be hacked," Ajay said.

Lin Qi rummaged through a bookshelf in the corner. She pulled out a black folder.

The folder was labeled: [Project God].

She opened it. Inside was a photograph.

Lin Qi looked at the photos, closed the folder, and stuffed it into her backpack.

Han Yingying stood in front of another bookshelf. She found a work diary.

The diary was signed by Han Fei.

She opened it.

[May 12, 2014. The experiment entered its third phase. Zero's consciousness began to awaken. It attempted to modify the underlying code.]

June 8, 2014. I made a mistake. I shouldn't have input Yingying's genetic sequence into the system. Zero treated her as a host.

July 1, 2014. I had to stop it. I split the core data. One part was hidden in the game. The other part remained in reality.

Han Yingying looked at her diary. Her hands were trembling.

She finally understood why she had been dragged into this game.

Because she is the host of Zero.

"Did you find it?" Lu Chen walked to Han Yingying's side.

Han Yingying closed her journal and put it in her backpack.

"We've found part of it," Han Yingying said. She looked at Lu Chen. "My brother has broken down the core data. We need to go to the control room on the third floor."

Lin Qi walked over. She didn't mention the black folder.

"How do I get to the third floor?" Lin Qi asked.

Han Yingying pointed to an elevator door deep inside the archives room.

"There."

The six people walked to the elevator. Han Yingying pressed the button.

The elevator doors opened. The interior was spacious.

They went inside. Han Yingying pressed the button for the third basement level.

The elevator descended, emitting a dull mechanical sound.

Wang Jianguo inspected the Gatling gun's ammunition. "This crappy place... I have a feeling something big is waiting for us."

"Stay alert." Old Li replaced the magazine in his rifle.

Ding.

The elevator stopped. The doors slowly opened.

Outside the door was a huge circular hall. In the center of the hall was a cylindrical glass nutrient tank.

The nutrient tank was filled with a blue liquid. A huge brain was suspended in the liquid.

The surface of his brain was covered with tubes. These tubes were connected to servers around the hall.

The server's indicator lights were flashing wildly.

Intruder detected.

An announcement came over the loudspeaker in the lobby. A synthesized voice.

[Activate the defense program.]

The walls around the hall cracked open. Four heavy black mechs emerged.

The mech is four meters tall. Its arms are high-frequency particle blades. It has missile launchers mounted on its back.

[Guardian Mech. Level 65. Elite.]

"Four stations." Ah Jie swallowed hard. "How are we supposed to play that?"

"Take them apart." Han Yingying drew her straight knife.

Lin Qi gripped the short knife with both hands, his body lowered.

"I'll take the one on the left," Lin Qi said. She dashed off, faster than before.

Lin Qi thought. This is an opportunity to test their bottom line. I can't hide my abilities anymore.

She rushed in front of the mech. The mech swung its particle blade down.

Lin Qi sidestepped, dodging the particle blade. He then thrust his twin blades towards the joints of the mecha's legs.

The blade sparked as it cut through the metal. It didn't pierce it.

The mecha raised its leg and kicked at Lin Qi.

Lin Qi used the momentum to jump backward, creating distance between them.

"His physical defense is very high," Lin Qi shouted.

On the other side, Han Yingying and Lu Chen were dealing with the machine on the right.

Han Yingying engaged the mech head-on, her straight blade constantly parrying its attacks, leaving her hands numb from the impact.

Lu Chen moved behind the mech, searching for gaps in the armor.

Wang Jianguo and Lao Li focused their fire on the two mechs in the middle. The bullets hit the mechs, leaving only faint white marks.

"Ah Jie, find their weakness," Han Yingying called out.

Ah Jie hid behind Chen Pi's tower shield, looking at the scan data on the tablet.

"The joints are protected by energy shields. Physical attacks are ineffective," Ajay shouted. "The weak point is the ventilation hole on the back. It's only three centimeters wide."

"Received," Lu Chen said.

He flashed forward, stepping on the mech's knees and leaping onto its back.

The mech detected an enemy behind it. The missile launchers on its back prepared to fire.

Lu Chen's purple butterfly knife precisely pierced the three-centimeter-wide heat dissipation hole.

Stir it vigorously.

A muffled explosion echoed from inside the mech. Movement ceased. The red indicator light went out.

The first one solved it.

Han Yingying turned around and rushed towards one of the mechs in the middle.

The mech's particle blade swept across.

Han Yingying didn't dodge. She charged forward, gliding along the ground, passing right under the particle blade.

She stood up. Her straight blade aimed at the cooling vents on the mech's legs.

The location is too low. Half of the ventilation holes are blocked by the armor.

Han Yingying flicked the tip of her knife, prying open the armor. She then thrust the knife straight in.

The mech fell to the ground.

The second machine solved the problem.

Lin Qi was still locked in combat with the car on her left. She couldn't find an opportunity to get behind it.

Han Yingying rushed over.
