The top floor, the rooftop.

All the teachers, students receiving awards, school leaders, the nurses and doctors on the sixth floor performing the surgery, including the principal, were waiting for rescue. Everyone wore an expression of anxiety and unease. Suddenly, someone pointed upwards and screamed:

"Ah—! Look, what's that?!"

The crowd looked up in fear at the black cloud formed by evil spirits. This cloud rose rapidly around the administration building, trying to force its way into any window it saw. Even if the windows were closed, it could still forcefully smash a hole through them.

With no roof or walls to conceal them, the rooftop quickly revealed the defenseless prey to numerous evil spirits. They swooped down like birds, beginning a brutal and satisfying siege:

In an instant, the rooftop became a living hell. Everyone screamed and ran towards the rooftop exit, only to be met with monsters rushing towards them as soon as the iron gate opened. There were even more, and hungrier monsters than those in the sky. More black smoke slowly rose, increasing their numbers.

On the sixth floor, the young boy in the dispensary heard the commotion and also opened the door to sneak out. Although Song Yuan had said that the power would be cut off soon, allowing him to leave, the noise outside had become unbearable. The howling wind sounded like the wailing of a vengeful ghost.

"Could it be a typhoon...?"

He shakily pushed open the door, only to be met with a dark, menacing horde of evil spirits. They howled deafeningly and flew towards him, baring their fangs and claws.

"Ahhhhh—"

Fourth floor, in the office.

Outside, the howls of vengeful ghosts echoed. Inside, the lights were off. An Xiaoyou rummaged through drawers and cabinets with a flashlight, while Qiao Ran, her hands tied behind her back, remained quietly in the corner. Song Yuan closed the doors and windows, then glued the windows shut with white paper before jumping down from the chair.

"It seems we're trapped."

Before the entire administration building was engulfed by the vengeful ghost, Xu Tai'an gave them a timely warning:

Once inside the room, seal all doors and windows securely, making sure to seal any gaps in the doors and windows!

The entire administration building is now almost completely overrun by vengeful ghosts. They rush in without any sense of direction, patrol around the building, find nothing, and then leave listlessly.

Xu Tai'an is currently preparing to join them, but their health will drop very quickly under the siege of the vengeful ghosts. These monsters, composed entirely of smoke, have no physical form, making them unattackable by NPCs, let alone players. Once they step out of this door, they're guaranteed to be attacked.

Fortunately, no ghost has discovered that there is a person hiding inside yet, otherwise they would have opened the lid and eaten them.

An Xiaoyou turned off her flashlight in frustration: "No, the key isn't in this office. Besides, she had to cross the entire green belt and run four floors to find us by herself. Is she really okay? Isn't she not good at close combat?"

"It's okay, she told me through the communicator. These monsters can't be killed, but they can be frightened."

Song Yuan tapped her right ear: "She's tested it; her gunshots can intimidate these monsters, but it's time-limited, lasting only about three minutes. However, the bullets have a five-minute cooldown, so for now, she can only move forward while searching for hiding places. More than that, we should be worried about the puppeteer and Liu Gaosheng."

Because the puppeteer has an extraordinary talent like "resurrection," although Song Yuan doesn't know exactly how many times he can resurrect or how thick his real health bar is, the true strength of an S+ level player is definitely stronger than she thought.

As for Liu Gaosheng, he displayed exceptional agility on his way to the cafeteria, moving as close to the ground as a snake, his speed so great that he disappeared in the blink of an eye. Against attacks from monsters that couldn't be killed, he could escape until the end of the dungeon.

Especially now that Xu Tai'an has come down from the top floor. No one is providing them with the location of the puppeteer or Liu Gaosheng anymore, and their movements have become unpredictable from this moment on.

"That's true," An Xiaoyou said, blowing on her nails. "So... shall we just stay here and wait?"

"No, let's go pick her up. She's not good at close combat, and her stamina is limited. If she encounters an enemy player, her health will drop very quickly. Even with healing skills, she can't withstand that kind of drain."

Song Yuan walked towards Qiao Ran in the corner, intending to help him up:

"The puppeteer and Liu Gaosheng have probably discovered that there are no electrical rooms on the first and second floors, and they are now moving upwards. We will most likely run into them when we go out."

An Xiaoyou didn't take it seriously: "So what if we face each other head-on? I don't think those two are that great at all."

Song Yuan nodded with satisfaction: "Yes, arrogance is better than trembling with fear."

An Xiaoyou: "Feed?! Who the hell are you talking about?!"

Song Yuan squatted down and took a closer look, only to find that Qiao Ran had closed his eyes and fallen asleep sometime during the night. His eyelashes were also caramel-colored, long and thick; when his eyes were closed, they drooped naturally, making him look gentle and harmless.

She was speechless for a moment: the evil spirits outside are about to demolish this building, how can this person still have such good sleep quality? It's truly admirable.

Song Yuan held Qiao Ran's shoulders and shook her gently:

"Hey, wake up. Wake up, we're getting ready to go out."

Qiao Ran was shaken a few times and slowly opened his eyes. Seeing Song Yuan's face in the darkness, a look of confusion flashed in his pupils. He tried to move his arms, feeling a fine, tingling pain in his wrists; his muscles were somewhat numb from being bound for so long.

Qiao Ran was completely dumbfounded: "Song Yuan? Where am I? Why aren't the lights on? Ugh... Who tied me up?!"

Song Yuan: "?"

She shrank back, frowning in confusion, completely unprepared for Qiao Ran's reaction upon waking. An Xiaoyou scoffed disdainfully and walked towards the two of them.

"Tch, what's wrong with him? Is he faking it again? Does he think he can make us believe him by pretending to have amnesia? Ignore what he says, just take him and get out of here."

Song Yuan nodded thoughtfully, watching Qiao Ran struggle to break free of the ropes, and felt that something was amiss:

"Hmm, maybe so."

She is very sensitive to a person's temperament and way of speaking. This is also why she was able to determine that Qiao Ran was being manipulated. Although Qiao Ran still spoke in the same tone, she lacked some memories and habits, which seemed off to her.

"I'm faking amnesia?"

Qiao Ran couldn't help but laugh, but quickly became serious again, looking at Song Yuan with a bewildered expression:

"I don't understand what you two are talking about. Who tied me up here? And weren't we just searching the office? How did I end up here the moment I opened my eyes... Oh, and did you find the power distribution room? What's Xiaoyou doing here too?"
