Reborn in 2006, I met Mr. Zhou from the past.
Chapter 23 Building Intimate Relationships
That night, Zhou Chenyu didn't sleep a wink, but as dawn approached, he finally succumbed to sleep and drifted off, his dreams filled with fragments of his blank memories from his teenage years. Upon waking, he immediately dialed Shi Anjin's number—his former psychologist.
Even today, Shi Anjin's words still resonate in his ears.
"Dr. Shi, I seem to have remembered some fragments. Regarding that lost memory, I am neither afraid nor repulsed; they surfaced naturally... only they are still somewhat blurry, and I cannot see the whole picture."
"What event triggered this reaction?"
"The opportunity...?"
Afterwards, Zhou Chenyu recounted his chance encounter with Su Fengnan to Shi Anjin. Upon listening, Shi Anjin offered his own deductions.
"Chen Yu, perhaps you returned to a familiar environment, the magnetic field changed, and your mind was completely relaxed and unguarded. Coincidentally, at this time, you met a special person, which triggered some expectation in your heart, so subconsciously you were willing to remember that memory."
"We spent so much time intervening before with little effect because your brain was consciously rejecting it. Now that things have turned around, it's a good thing."
Shi Anjin paused for a moment, then continued, "Well, if you're willing, you can try to gradually accept a new relationship to deal with your current reaction."
"What's the relationship?" Zhou Chenyu asked instinctively, her tone tinged with nervousness.
"Intimate relationships".
"Is the intimate relationship you're referring to what I understand it to mean?" Zhou Chenyu asked to confirm.
"Yes."
"I previously suggested that you try to build intimate relationships and try to get in touch with girls, but you refused. However, these unconscious behaviors and emotional changes you are experiencing now are actually physiological instinctive reactions, which means you are already recovering."
"Dr. Shi, thank you."
"Stay a little longer after you go back. I hope to hear good news from you when you come back next time."
That phone call seemed to point Zhou Chenyu in the right direction. He clearly felt joy upon meeting that young girl. Although that inexplicable joy came in a strange way... he really should seriously consider Shi Anjin's suggestion.
"It seems the little girl's injury is all healed." Jiang Shaoqing handed the phone back to Zhou Chenyu.
"Hmm." Zhou Chenyu responded, snapping out of her reverie, and then silently dealt with the messages on her phone.
Zhou Chenyu and Jiang Shaoqing waited for an hour before the sour fish soup was ready. The owner even packed it up nicely so he could take it home easily.
"Chen Yu, you specially came here to fish and then processed it to take back for your grandmother to eat?" Jiang Shaoqing asked with a puzzled look.
"Otherwise what?" Zhou Chenyu said calmly.
"I spent the whole afternoon with you, and I don't get a share?" Jiang Shaoqing pretended to be furious.
"What do you think?" Zhou Chenyu's eyes showed no sign of guilt as she got into the car and prepared to leave.
"Hey, Zhou Chenyu, you still owe me a meal!" Jiang Shaoqing followed to the car window indignantly.
"So?" Zhou Chenyu asked as he fastened his seatbelt, preparing to start the engine.
Jiang Shaoqing realized what was happening and quickly opened the car door and got in: "I'm having dinner with Grandma too, don't even think about kicking me out, hmph."
Zhou Chenyu glanced at him, shook her head helplessly, and drove away.
Dinner was served at two separate tables in a private room. During the meal, the girls all drank, and Ning Xiaojun also had a can of beer. When someone tried to persuade Su Fengnan to drink, she declined, citing an alcohol allergy. However, since everyone was a student, they all drank in moderation.
Halfway through the meal, Su Fengnan leaned close to Ning Xiaojun's ear and whispered, "Junjun, Wang Bo's family should also have a stake in this restaurant, right?"
Ning Xiaojun turned her head in surprise and glared at Su Fengnan: "You're so perceptive."
"That's it." Su Fengnan had already guessed.
"Yeah, you can't open a restaurant here without connections. I only found out by quietly asking Wang Bo this afternoon."
"Ning Xiaojun, come on, let's clink glasses." Lu Yao leaned over and pulled Ning Xiaojun to clink glasses, but was interrupted.
"Lu Yao, drink less. If you get drunk, no one will take you home," Ning Xiaojun reminded her.
"It's okay, I know." Lu Yao waved her hand.
After they finished their drinks, Ning Xiaojun leaned over again, wanting to continue talking...
"Hey, Su Su, let me tell you..."
"Shh, let's eat. We'll talk about it tomorrow," Su Fengnan stopped Ning Xiaojun from continuing her gossip.
After dinner, we cut the cake. Seeing that it was still early, only 7:30, a group of people strolled along the road towards the city.
The girls walked in front, and the boys walked behind. Someone shouted something, and then a large group of boys started singing in unison.
"what……"
"Aaaaaaahhhhhh..."
"Let's travel the world together and live a carefree life!"
"Galloping on horseback, sharing in the splendor of the world!"
"Let us drink and sing to express the joy in our hearts!"
"Make the most of your youth!"
"Ahhh..."
The female student walking in front stopped and looked back, only to see the male students standing side by side, arms around each other, singing loudly towards the lake.
"My goodness, they must have drunk too much," Lu Yao said with a laugh.
Several female classmates laughed so hard they were doubled over, and Li Xiuying laughed so hard she squatted on the ground and couldn't get up.
"We're almost graduating from high school, and we've never had this much fun before. We're probably just having too much fun," Huang Mingxia muttered to herself.
After the boys joked around for a while, the group slowly crossed the rainbow bridge and walked to the roadside to hail a taxi back. Those living in the same direction were assigned to different cars, and the group split into several vehicles to return to the city.
On Sunday, Su Fengnan got up at five o'clock. She spent two hours copying scriptures, an hour doing laundry, and after breakfast, she spent the rest of the morning at an internet cafe. Seeing that the novel's readership had increased again, she happily updated a few more chapters.
In the afternoon, Su Fengnan borrowed the math textbook from the high school freshman next door and used mind maps to organize all the math formulas from the first and second years of high school. Although she now had a photographic memory, it still took her several hours to organize it. She didn't finish until Su Fengxia returned at six o'clock in the afternoon. When no one was tutoring her, she would use the most basic method to help herself.
She memorized all the math formulas after reviewing them, but she still didn't know how to use them. She needed to practice more problems and have someone guide her in her practice to improve.
During evening self-study, Su Fengnan kept working on math tests. For problems she didn't understand, besides asking Ning Xiaojun next to her, she wrote the problems down in her notebook and passed them to Xu Jiang, the math class representative. Xu Jiang patiently wrote out the calculation steps for her when he saw the problems Su Fengnan passed him. By the end of the evening self-study session, she had completed one math test and one English test.
Su Fengnan's enthusiasm for learning also inspired Ning Xiaojun. After evening self-study, Ning Xiaojun pulled Su Fengnan along, saying, "Su Su, don't leave me behind. We need to improve together."
"Okay, let's improve together." Su Fengnan agreed with a smile.
"Oh right, we took a lot of photos yesterday. Ye Hua has already taken them to be developed, and they'll be ready tomorrow, but we'll have to pay for them ourselves," Ning Xiaojun said.
"Oh... I didn't take any photos yesterday." Su Fengnan.
"Oh! You really didn't take any pictures? I thought Ye Hua would take some for you when he got his camera back. It's a bit of a shame that someone as good-looking as you doesn't take any pictures," Ning Xiaojun said in surprise.
Su Fengnan smiled and said, "There's nothing to regret. I've never liked taking pictures anyway."
"Why?" Ning Xiaojun muttered.
"No reason, just a personal preference." Su Fengnan waved her hand. "Okay, I'm leaving!"
"Okay! Bye-bye, see you tomorrow." Ning Xiaojun turned around, then stopped, as if remembering something, "Wait a minute."
After taking a few steps, Su Fengnan turned around, looking bewildered: "What's wrong?"
Ning Xiaojun walked to Su Fengnan's side and said softly, "My dad said you're very good and confident, and that you'll definitely get into university. He told me to study with you more."
"That's it?" Su Fengnan looked at her as if she were an idiot.
"Mmm." Ning Xiaojun nodded.
"Thank you for your dad's approval. Okay, go back now." With that, Su Fengnan turned and left.
