Reborn in 2006, I met Mr. Zhou from the past.

Chapter 83 Weekend Study Groups

On the first day of school, Su Fengnan walked into the classroom as the morning reading bell rang. By then, the classroom was already full of students in study groups.

The faces were all familiar, but I couldn't recall most of their names.

Su Fengnan sat in the last row and glanced ahead, noticing that it was mostly girls, with only five boys. She looked down at the books on her desk and sighed inwardly: "I guess the science class next door has more boys than girls; it's really a good balance."

Just then, the teacher's voice rang out from the podium.

Good morning, students!

The students below the podium suddenly raised their heads and looked at the podium in unison.

"My name is Yu Yipeng."

Su Fengnan looked up and saw a refined-looking male teacher in his forties, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, a white shirt, and navy blue trousers, looking very capable. Wasn't this the Chinese teacher for Class One? It seemed he would be their teacher from now on.

As he spoke, he took a piece of chalk from the chalk box, broke it in half, and turned around to write his name and a phone number on the blackboard.

"Here's my contact information, everyone please write it down. I'm your homeroom teacher and also your Chinese teacher. You can call me anytime if you need anything." Yu Yipeng finished writing, turned around, casually placed the chalk on the table, and rested his hands on the podium as he spoke.

"I will be leading your studies throughout the entire senior year. I hope that during this time together, I can see your grades improve further and that you will strive to achieve your college entrance examination goals."

The concise speech was powerful and inspiring. Someone in the audience started clapping, and the whole class immediately joined in with enthusiastic applause.

Yu Yipeng raised a hand to signal everyone to be quiet and continued, "You are all promising students selected from your respective classes, with the potential to be admitted to 985 or 211 universities. In the following studies, I will appropriately broaden your knowledge scope, and I hope you can catch up with my pace as soon as possible."

After speaking, he looked around at the eager faces below and asked, "Can you do it?"

"Yes!" the students answered in unison.

"Alright, let's choose a study group leader now. Would any student dare to volunteer?"

After speaking, he waited for a while, but no one stood up voluntarily. This was within Yu Yipeng's expectations, so he simply decided to make the decision himself. He took out a latest report card and directly selected the person with the highest total score to be the study group leader, and the second-highest scorer to be the deputy group leader.

Everyone accepted this arrangement without complaint. "Zhu Wenjing, with 665 points, will serve as the study group leader; Ding Junhui, with 651 points, will serve as the deputy group leader. From now on, the group leader and deputy group leader will be responsible for coordinating all homework assignments."

Yu Yipeng paused, then looked at the few students below the stage: "If the two students whose names are called have no objections, then it's settled."

Then, Yu Yipeng bent down, took out a stool from under the podium, sat down, clapped his hands, and said, "Continue the morning reading, let me hear your voices!"

Immediately, the classroom was filled with the sound of students reading aloud.

During the morning reading session of Class 3 of Senior Three, the teacher had already explained the matter of the school study group - those who met the monthly test scores could report, while those whose scores declined would be expelled.

Ning Xiaojun sat in her seat, feeling lost and a little angry that Su Fengnan hadn't told her about the study group.

Ye Hua sat alone in the last row, expressionless, lost in thought. He crumpled up a piece of paper and tossed it to Ning Xiaojun. After reading the contents of the paper, Ning Xiaojun turned to Ye Hua and gave him an "OK" sign.

After the two classes in the morning, Ye Hua and Ning Xiaojun went to Su Fengnan's classroom. Ning Xiaojun angrily pulled her to the side of the corridor and said, feeling wronged, "Tell me, why didn't you tell me? Am I still your good friend?"

Su Fengnan hadn't expected Ning Xiaojun to be angry about this. It was true she hadn't told Ning Xiaojun, but things hadn't reached that point, and she didn't want to cause any more trouble. Seeing how much Ning Xiaojun cared about her friend, Su Fengnan took her arm, tilted her head, and smiled sweetly, coaxing, "Oh, Xiaojun, I was only told by the teacher to move classrooms yesterday, and I didn't have evening self-study last night, so I didn't have time to tell you. Don't be angry."

She blinked and encouraged, "Do your best on the monthly exam, and try to sit next to me, okay?"

Seeing Su Fengnan trying to comfort her with a smile, Ning Xiaojun was still discouraged. She shook her head and said, "It's so hard. I'm not like you, whose grades improved like a rocket."

Ye Hua, who was not far from them, naturally heard the two girls' conversation. He took the initiative to walk over and interrupt them, suggesting, "I have a suggestion. How about we set aside half a day each weekend to study together? That way, we'll also have a chance to ask Su Fengnan for advice."

Ning Xiaojun and Su Fengnan exchanged a glance. Ning Xiaojun was naturally overjoyed, but Su Fengnan's expression stiffened slightly, unsure whether to answer or not.

"Yeah, Su Su, why don't you come to my house this weekend and we can study together?" Ning Xiaojun quickly chimed in.

Su Fengnan had no problem studying with Ning Xiaojun, but she didn't want to waste her time if she had to add other people, since she had a lot of other things to do.

Seeing that Su Fengnan still didn't react, Ye Hua added, "Why don't we invite two more classmates to come along? They can keep an eye on each other."

"Great idea! My deskmate is nice, I'll ask him to join us in studying, Su Su, please agree." Ning Xiaojun said, seizing the opportunity.

Su Fengnan pondered for a moment, then said, "Alright, wait a moment."

After saying that, she ran back to the classroom and came out with Yang Chao a short while later.

"I just spoke with Yang Chao, and he's willing to study with us this weekend. Let's keep it at five people; no more than that."

Ning Xiaojun glanced at Ye Hua, and the two nodded simultaneously: "No problem."

Yang Chao was also surprised; he hadn't expected Su Fengnan to invite him along, but it suited him perfectly. He was particularly curious about how Su Fengnan had improved her grades so quickly in such a short time.

"Where should we set the location?" Yang Chao asked.

"Let's have this week at my place. My dad won't feel at ease unless he sees me studying," Ning Xiaojun said with a smile, looking at the three of them. "I'll treat you to the best food and drinks, so please stay at my place."

And that was the end of it. Actually, Su Fengnan didn't need to study with everyone at all. She had a photographic memory for the humanities subjects, and she could easily get close to full marks on the exams, if not perfect. Zhou Chenyu also tutored her in math.

She agreed entirely because of Ning Xiaojun. She hoped Ning Xiaojun could get into a good university and stay away from scumbags. As for involving Yang Chao, it was purely because of his good math scores.

At noon, Su Fengnan returned home and received a message from Zhou Chenyu saying he couldn't come to tutoring. He said something had come up and he would come in two days.

Su Fengnan replied with a single word, "Okay," and then stopped asking questions.

However, this also relieved her, and even made her a little happy. Zhou Chenyu had been tutoring her every day, which was a bit overwhelming, so these two days were a good opportunity to relax.
