Hearing the loud commotion outside, Qin An's heart tightened. He immediately jumped out of bed, grabbed the iron bow and longsword beside him, and rushed out of the military tent.

Of course, he didn't forget his group of subordinates either.

It's unclear what Luo Kai was thinking, but he didn't reorganize or make any arrangements for these new recruits.

As a result, although Qin An did not hold a formal position, he still managed the fifty militiamen.

Knowing the dangers of the battlefield, Qin An never considered fighting alone.

"Wake up, all of you! Pick up your weapons, assemble immediately, and form a defensive formation!" he shouted, his voice exceptionally clear amidst the chaos.

His fifty militiamen had already been awakened by the screams.

Upon hearing Qin An's order, they almost instinctively picked up their weapons, ran quickly to Qin An's side, and swiftly set up a defensive formation according to the formation they had practiced in daily training.

Meanwhile, the other teams were completely thrown into chaos.

Some were still asleep when they were awakened by the screams and were at a loss.

Some panicked and ran in all directions.

Some picked up weapons but didn't know what to do, just waving them around randomly.

In the darkness, dozens of Baekje soldiers rushed into the camp like ghosts, their scimitars gleaming coldly as they hacked and slashed at the chaotic Daehyeong soldiers.

Screams, wails, and the clash of weapons mingled together, creating a horrific scene.

Looking at the scene before him, Qin An felt a little flustered, but having already realized the situation, he quickly calmed down.

He knew that the more chaotic things were, the more he needed to remain calm.

"Archers, prepare! Target: the Baekje warriors at the front!" Qin An shouted the order.

Many of the militiamen he led were hunters by trade and were skilled archers.

Qin An had already assigned tasks based on individual strengths.

At his command, several archers in the crowd quickly drew their bows and fired their arrows.

Although the light was dim, it did not deter these archers who were hunters by trade.

The arrow shot out like a meteor, hitting its target precisely.

"Thud! Thud! Thud!" Several muffled thuds were heard as several Baekje soldiers at the forefront fell to the ground.

While Qin An was giving instructions, he was not idle either.

He kept drawing his bow and nocking the arrow.

He never forgot his purpose in joining the army and going to the battlefield.

Now is the time to harvest.

In an instant, he personally shot and killed several Baekje soldiers.

This sudden attack caused the Baekje offensive to pause for a moment.

They hadn't expected that, in such a chaotic situation, there would still be a team capable of organizing an effective counterattack.

Qin An seized this opportunity and ordered again: "Spearmen, advance! Maintain formation and advance steadily!"

The pikemen immediately marched forward in orderly steps.

The wooden spears in their hands thrust out like a dense forest; although it was just the simplest stabbing action, it was extremely powerful.

The Baekje soldiers who rushed forward were forced back by the stabs, and many fell to the ground screaming as they were stabbed.

Qin An stood in the middle of the ranks, constantly drawing his bow and shooting down Baekje soldiers who attempted to flank him. His archery skills were precise and ruthless; with each arrow, a Baekje soldier fell, quickly attracting the attention of most of the Baekje people.

"Kill that archer!" A Baekje leader roared and led a dozen soldiers, charging towards Qin An like madmen.

Qin An's eyes narrowed, showing no fear whatsoever.

He put down his iron-rimmed bow, gripped his spear tightly, and said to the soldiers beside him, "Hold the formation, don't be afraid!"

"Kill!" Baekje soldiers roared as they charged forward, their scimitars whistling as they slashed at Qin An's troops.

"Stab!" Qin An gave the order.

Fifty spearmen shouted in unison, thrusting their spears forward simultaneously.

The dense gunfire was like a net of death, tightly trapping the charging Baekje soldiers.

"Ah!" Screams rang out one after another as several Baekje soldiers at the forefront were pierced by spears and died on the spot.

Upon seeing this, the soldiers behind them halted their attack.

Qin An seized the opportunity, suddenly burst out of the spear formation, and his spear flashed like lightning, aiming straight for the Baekje leader.

The squad leader was taken aback by Qin An's bravery in charging forward, and quickly raised his knife to parry.

With a loud clang, swords and spears clashed. The Baekje leader felt a tremendous force, his arm went numb, and his scimitar nearly slipped from his grasp.

He was shocked, never expecting that this young soldier from Daxing would possess such strength.

Qin An, seizing the advantage, pressed his advantage, thrusting his spear straight at the neck of the minor leader.

The leader was terrified and quickly ducked, but the tip of the gun still grazed his cheek, and blood flowed down instantly.

Just then, the spearmen behind Qin An advanced again, surrounding the remaining Baekje soldiers.

Under the dense barrage of gunfire, these Baekje soldiers were quickly slaughtered.

Seeing that the situation was not good, the leader dared not continue the fight. He feinted with his knife and turned to run away.

"Where do you think you're going!" Qin An snorted coldly, pushed off with his feet, and chased after the enemy like a cheetah, thrusting out his spear once more.

The thrust was swift and vicious; the squad leader had no time to dodge. He was pierced through from behind by the spear, screamed in agony, and collapsed to the ground, never to move again.

Having dealt with the minor leader, Qin An looked around. The Baekje soldiers in the camp had been gradually slaughtered, leaving only corpses scattered on the ground and wailing wounded soldiers.

He let out a long sigh of relief, his tense nerves finally relaxing.

This was his first real battlefield combat experience.

Although the process was thrilling, we eventually made it through.

Looking at the orderly ranks around him and the enemy corpses on the ground, a sharp glint flashed in Qin An's eyes.

The battlefield is indeed the place where you can improve your strength the fastest!

He could clearly feel that his overall combat strength was slowly increasing on his system panel.

Not far away, Luo Kai was standing on a high ground, taking in all of this.

He looked at Qin An's figure, a hint of amazement and satisfaction flashing in his eyes.

"This Qin An certainly didn't disappoint me." Luo Kai smiled slightly. "Looks like I need to bring him under my wing as soon as possible!"

Clearly, Luo Kai was not surprised by this attack.

The troops receiving the Daehung recruits were not limited to his own; there had been previous incidents of Baekje attacking Daehung's new recruits.

Luo Kai had long been mentally prepared for this.

He reacted immediately upon being attacked, but instead of rushing to lead the veterans into action, he simply watched from the sidelines.

Firstly, the number of Baekje troops attacking was small, and they were not elite forces, so he was fully capable of handling the situation.

Secondly, Luo Kai also regarded this as a training and selection process, using this new recruit team to get used to the environment in advance, so as to avoid causing even greater trouble on the front line.

As it turned out, this screening process brought me a big surprise!
