Time flew by and it was afternoon. The sycamore trees at the school gate cast a large, dense green shadow in the setting sun, their shadows stretched long.

Wang Jia'ao walked out of the school gate carrying a bottle of iced tea and immediately saw Zhao Kongcheng not far away outside the school gate.

Zhao Kongcheng was still dressed in the same clothes as in the morning, but now he looked more like a beggar, disheveled and sweating profusely, as if he had really been squatting there all day.

Zhao Kongcheng opened the passenger door, gestured for Wang Jia'ao to get in, then went around to the driver's seat, started the engine, and drove over the speed bump at the alley entrance, merging into the traffic on the main road.

The scenery outside the car window gradually changed from the gray buildings of the old town to wider streets, and there were fewer and fewer pedestrians on the roadside.

The next second, the black sedan, covered in mud, swerved half a circle on the road with an extremely abrupt angle, its tires screeching as it rubbed against the asphalt, before coming to a stop sideways at the edge of the sidewalk.

The front of the car was facing a boy in casual clothes, and the hood was still vibrating slightly.

Lin Qiye had just come out of the library and was thinking about how to treat Nyx when suddenly his path was blocked by a car.

Lin Qiye stopped, tilted his head slightly, and frowned almost imperceptibly.

The next second, the car door was pushed open, and Zhao Kongcheng jumped out of the car, taking a few steps to stand in front of Lin Qiye, a cold smile on his lips.

He saw a frosted glass sign hanging at the entrance of the building, with the words "Honeymoon Time Couple Theme Hotel" written in light pink artistic lettering.

Zhao Kongcheng had already pulled Lin Qiye to the door.

The moment the three of them pushed open the door and entered, the girl with her hair in a bun at the front desk looked up, her gaze sweeping over Zhao Kongcheng, Lin Qiye, and Wang Jia'ao before finally settling on Zhao Kongcheng, a professional smile appearing on her face.

"Hello sir, how many people are in your party?"

"Three people."

Zhao Kongcheng expertly pulled a black card from his pocket. "I'd like a double room."

The receptionist's smile froze slightly.

She glanced down at the computer screen, then looked up at Zhao Kongcheng holding Lin Qiye's hand, and at Wang Jia'ao beside them, and her face flushed red.

"Three...three people...one double room?"

"right."

Zhao Kongcheng, completely oblivious to the subtle tension, asked, "Can we open it?"

The receptionist's fingers hovered over the keyboard for two seconds, and her lips moved slightly: "Yes...yes, sir."
