I became a farmer in the apocalypse.

Jiang Li was digging for gold in the vegetable garden.

She earned points from selling rice and spent 5000 to buy a small golden hoe to see what was going on and how to dig out gold.

After digging for an hour, Jiang Li was about to give up when suddenly, a crisp metallic clang rang out.

The hoe seemed to have hit something hard.

Upon digging deeper, a glittering gold coin was found hidden in the mud.

It really is gold coins.

Jiang Li didn't think the gold coin was originally in the ground. It must be that the system calculated that the gold coin should appear when she hit the ground with her hoe, so the system refreshed the gold coin in this place a second before she hit the ground with her hoe.

To put it simply, this golden hoe is a special item that increases the probability of a certain event occurring.

Since that's the case, from now on we'll use golden hoes for farm work! It might be a bit flashy, even a bit pretentious, but the undeniable benefit is that it can dig up gold coins!

She dug up a gold coin in just one hour. If she worked ten hours a day on the farm, wouldn't that little sapling have a place to grow?

Jiang Li smiled, feeling full of energy, and thought she could dig another ten acres of land.

I wonder if using a large golden hoe for farm work would increase the chances of finding gold. The small hoe is used for sowing seeds, and the large hoe is used for tilling the soil.

Jiang Li thought for a moment and then bought a large hoe from the system store.

Points - 10000.

I didn't do anything all day, but I spent 15000 just on two gold hoes.

This money really doesn't last long.

Jiang Yan sells rice in the shop, and Jiang Tang sells soy milk in front of a small stall. Even if the two of them burn out their last bit of energy, they still can't keep up with the speed at which Jiang Li spends money.

Jiang Li: "?"

Why does it seem like someone is both rich and poor?

She seems to have everything, but her pockets are still empty. Her points probably don't even amount to as many as Jiang Yan's. Recently, Jiang Yan has been collecting garbage and earning 300 yuan a day, so he's probably saved up quite a bit of money.

How about we borrow some money from Jiang Yan?

Jiang Li opened her money pouch; her most valuable possessions right now were probably these gold coins.

After counting the thirteen gleaming gold coins, Jiang Li opened the gold coin shop.

What kind of tree should we plant?

After much thought, I decided to buy an apple tree.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

It's very convenient whether you eat it yourself or sell it!

[Apple Sapling: A fragile sapling, planted patiently, will grow into a large apple tree! Lifespan: 30 years.]

With a lifespan of 30 years, this means that even with the help of supernatural powers to accelerate growth, the tree will only bear fruit for about 30 cycles before it becomes completely old and unable to produce fruit again.

That's quite a lot, and it's very cost-effective.

Should I spend 10 gold coins to buy an apple sapling?

【Yes. 】

Jiang Li returned to the reward box, reached in, touched the apple sapling, and pulled it out. It was still covered in fresh soil, as if it had just been dug up.

At 1.2 meters in length, it looks quite healthy.

You can simply plant them directly in the ground.

Jiang Li carried the sapling to the stall and planted the fruit tree next to it.

Jiang Li: "The apple tree, we can eat apples now."

"Really?"

Jiang Tang came over and touched it curiously, "Won't it mutate?"

Jiang Li shook her head, "Like a chick, it won't mutate."

This is an apple sapling that she bought at great expense. Starting tomorrow, she will have to take good care of it and make it grow apples quickly!

Jiang Li asked Jiang Tang, "What's the price of apples in the safe zone now?"

Jiang Tang thought for a moment, "140 points per pound. Apples are mainly grown at the Sixth Base, and the market price will fluctuate depending on the situation there."

Jiang Li compacted the soil around the sapling, watered it thoroughly to help it establish roots, and used a little effort to make the roots more secure. However, from the outside, there was still no change.

Zhu Cuihua also came over, sniffed the apple tree, and then rolled around in it, seemingly very happy. It seemed to know that apple trees were a good thing and that it was a good thing that Jiang Li had bought an apple tree.

Jiang Li asked Jiang Tang for another cup of soy milk, and casually inquired, "How's the soy milk business?"

Jiang Tang: "It's alright, but it's certainly not as good as the safe zone. The people who come to buy soy milk are all rice buyers. They'll ask me about it when they see it. I heard it's only 10 points a cup, so I just bought it."

After all, a cup of soy milk in the safe zone costs 20 points, which is not something you can buy for 10 points.

Jiang Li then went to the store to check on the sales of rice.

We sold 50 jin of coarse rice and 130 jin of refined rice.

There were still quite a few people queuing up to buy rice in the store.

"I want 10 jin of coarse rice."

500 points have been credited to your account.

"I'll buy 30 jin of polished rice."

2400 points have been credited to your account.

"..."

Lin An milled the rice, and Jiang Yan sold it; the two worked together quite well.

After Jiang Li's balance was squandered, it started to rise again.

Jiang Li was very satisfied and left the shop with the golden hoe.

Jiang Yan: "?"

What is that?

He was so busy that he didn't notice until later that he realized Jiang Li had been there. When he looked over, he saw Jiang Li leaving with a gleaming hoe on her back.

?

Gold is not valuable in the post-apocalyptic world, but it is still scarce and not very common.

At least, Jiang Yan had never seen such a large piece of gold hoe before.

Jiang Li carried a hoe to the potato field and tidied up the area that had been dug up. The soil needed to be turned over again, and the remaining roots and weeds also needed to be removed.

Chen Ye stared blankly for a moment as he watched Jiang Li wielding the golden hoe beside him, but he quickly looked away and continued with his work.

Not long after, someone suddenly shouted at the farm gate:

"Ginger girl!"

It was Chen Xiu'e's voice.

Jiang Li walked over and saw Chen Xiu'e carrying a large bag of bamboo shoots.

At the farm gate, Chen Xiue placed the bamboo shoots on the ground and smiled at Jiang Li, saying:

"I heard you buy mutated bamboo shoots, is that right? How much do you think I can sell these bamboo shoots for?"

Jiang Li frowned as she looked at the large bag of mutated bamboo shoots on the ground.

She shook her head. "No."
