Chapter 334 Why should family members fight over a man?
They directly used the "child" as a trump card to pressure others.
Shen Tianxi was furious, her chest heaving violently. The collar of her shirt was stretched open, creating an even larger gap.
"Don't try to scare people with that fake belly of yours," Shen Tianxi retorted. "Last night I hacked into the Chen family's accounts and helped them gain half control of Guangying Media. And what about you? Besides showing off your status as the daughter of a municipal party committee member, what else can you do? You're wearing such a conservative cheongsam, is it as nice as my shirt? Pfft, old woman!"
The battleground erupted completely.
The two women come from vastly different backgrounds: one is a lawless delinquent in the military compound, the other a reserved and aloof beauty in the municipal government compound. Yet, they are now locked in a fierce confrontation in the living room over the same man.
Zhu Xun Chuan let go of Shen Tian hope.
He turned around and filled two glasses with warm water from the water dispenser on the island. Holding the glasses, he walked to the sofa.
Fu Xinghe sat upright on one side of the sofa, his back straight. Shen Tianxi followed angrily, deliberately sitting on Zhu Xunchuan's lap first, and looking at him provocatively.
Zhu Xun Chuan ignored Shen Tian hope's actions, handed one glass of water to Fu Xing He, and put the other glass into Shen Tian hope's hand.
He cupped the back of Shen Tianxi's head with his left hand, his slender fingers ruffling her freshly dried hair, eliciting a soft cry from her. His right hand, meanwhile, naturally reached out, slipped behind Fu Xinghe, and wrapped around her slender waist, which was clad in a cheongsam.
Apply slight force.
Fu Xinghe cried out in surprise, lost his balance, and fell directly onto Zhu Xunchuan's right chest.
They forcibly embraced the two most dazzling pearls of Kyoto, one on each side.
"What's there to argue about?" Zhu Xun Chuan leaned back on the sofa, his voice deep and authoritative, carrying an unyielding air of control. "The military and the government are one family. You are all my people, so why distinguish between high and low?"
They acted with complete righteousness and shamelessness, trying to be fair and impartial.
Shen Tianxi's hair was ruffled, and she was about to lash out, but when she felt the hard muscles on Zhu Xun Chuan's thigh, her pretty face turned red, and she pouted and leaned back into his arms.
Fu Xinghe was forced to press herself against Zhu Xunchuan, the silky fabric of her cheongsam clinging to his suit shirt. She looked up, her originally cool face flushed, her eyes filled with a hint of embarrassment and annoyance, but she did not struggle.
"Shameless," Fu Xinghe muttered under his breath.
This scolding was soft and gentle, without any harm; instead, it sounded just like a coquettish tantrum.
Zhu Xun Chuan freed his left hand and picked up the brown paper bag he had brought back from the president's office of Guangying Media from under the coffee table.
He threw the paper bag on the coffee table.
"Let's get down to business." Zhu Xun Chuan's previous languidness vanished, his eyes turning cold and sharp. "Chen Po Jun's matter isn't over. His mess goes far beyond just those arms bills."
He pulled out old photos from the paper bag and handed them to the two of them.
"Take a look at this."
The edges of the photo are yellowed, the scene frozen thirty years ago. A raging fire engulfed an orphanage, and the words "Qingcheng" remained on the gate.
Fu Xinghe sat up straight, her gaze sweeping over the photo. She didn't know the details, only that it was a fire scene.
Shen Tianxi picked up the photo and squinted to examine it carefully.
A few seconds later, her gaze suddenly locked onto the lower right corner of the photograph. There, a piece of partially burned black fabric hung from the tip of the collapsed iron gate. The fabric's surface faintly reflected light, displaying a peculiar diamond-shaped grid pattern.
"This is..." Shen Tianxi gripped the photo tightly, her voice rising in shock, "Polyamide composite flame-retardant fabric? This is impossible!" (I made up this part of the story, please don't take it too seriously...)
"What did you see?" Zhu Xun Chuan asked, looking at her.
"This fabric is the exclusive material for special forces' night combat uniforms. It has an extremely high ignition point, and ordinary building fires simply cannot burn through it." Shen Tianxi turned to look at Zhu Xunchuan, her eyes filled with seriousness. "The key is its mesh pattern. This single-thread interlacing weaving technique was an exclusive patent of the Tianjin Seventh Military Factory in its early years."
She swallowed hard.
"Ten years ago, the director of the Seventh Military Factory was Chen Pojun's uncle. This batch of fabric was only specially approved for a shadow security team privately formed by the Chen family back then."
The truth has come to light.
The orphanage fire years ago was not a scheme orchestrated by Zhao Tingzhi alone. The real mastermind behind it, and even the people who carried out the arson and cleaned up the evidence, were the Chen family.
The Zhao family was merely a front for the Chen family to sell organs and amass wealth.
Fu Xinghe keenly sensed the political storm brewing within.
"If this photo gets out, it proves that the military's special security team was involved in that tragedy." Fu Xinghe's voice was deep. "Even the Chen family patriarch's get-out-of-jail-free card can't stop the top-level purge. Are you planning to use this to your advantage?"
"What I want isn't liquidation, it's erasure." Zhu Xun Chuan took back the photos and put them back in the paper bag. He turned to Shen Tian hope, "Get the data report for this fabric. Tomorrow, I'm going to the Xishan Retirement Home in person."
Shen Tianxi nodded emphatically, rolled off his lap, and ran towards the computer desk not far away. The hem of her white shirt fluttered, revealing a large expanse of her cleavage.
Looking at Zhu Xun Chuan's cold profile, Fu Xinghe felt a surge of indescribable emotion. This man, no matter how vast the network of power, always maintained this domineering aura that could sweep away everything.
She leaned closer, wrapped her arms around his waist, and buried her face in the crook of his neck.
Just as this sticky, ambiguous atmosphere heated up again.
On the coffee table, Zhu Xunchuan's phone screen lit up.
The WeChat notification sound broke the silence of the living room.
Zhu Xunchuan picked up his phone. The sender was Gu Qinghan.
"I will personally proctor your major course tomorrow morning. If you dare to skip class, you will bear the consequences. Also, fill out and hand in those forms that Principal Meng gave you. Don't think that just because you're hiding at home, I won't be able to find out what you're up to."
Lecture hall.
Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the floor.
Gu Qinghan stood behind the podium. Today, she wore a minimalist black and white business suit: a black pencil skirt paired with a pure white silk shirt, the top button fastened tightly. Gold-rimmed glasses perched on her nose, highlighting her stunningly beautiful face with an air of aloofness and restraint.
She held the roster in her hand, her gaze sweeping across the last row of the lecture hall.
Zhu Xun Chuan sat by the window, resting his chin on his hand, looking at her.
"Zhu Xunchuan." Gu Qinghan's voice was crisp and capable, carrying an undeniable tutor's authority, "Come up and recite the core articles of the 'International Economic Law' regarding anti-monopoly review of cross-border mergers and acquisitions."
A collective gasp rippled through the classroom. This question was far beyond the syllabus, at a graduate-level difficulty.
And this isn't even part of a literature class! Why is Teacher Gu asking such a random question? But nobody's stupid enough to ask such a question.
Some people were whispering among themselves, wondering if they had taken the wrong class.
However, all eyes in the class were focused on Zhu Xun Chuan.
Zhu Xunchuan stood up and calmly walked down the steps.
He walked to the front of the classroom and looked at Gu Qinghan's expressionless face.
Gu Qinghan handed over half a piece of white chalk.
Zhu Xun Chuan didn't take it, but directly grasped her hand.
The solid wood partition on the lectern perfectly blocked the students' view.
Gu Qinghan's fingers stiffened, a hint of panic flashing in her eyes. She tried to pull her hand away, but the man's large hand held it firmly.
"Zhu Xunchuan." Gu Qinghan lowered his voice, his tone carrying a warning.
"The counselor is taking attendance personally, so I need some motivation," Zhu Xun Chuan said softly, with a teasing tone that only the two of them could understand.
He gently drew a circle in Gu Qinghan's soft palm with his fingertips.
Gu Qinghan's breath hitched.
