What's wrong with me, a school principal, listening to students' suggestions?

Chapter 22 Su Qingyan: I've never run this fast in my life

Lin Yucai drove his G-Wagon around the city.

After the initial excitement of picking up the car wore off, he remembered something else.

He is currently living in the staff dormitory arranged by No. 13 Middle School.

It's called a dormitory, but it's actually just a partitioned room in an old residential building outside the back gate of the school.

Ten square meters, one single bed, one wardrobe, one folding table, and a shared bathroom.

The monthly rent is 350.

There's no one else who's gone this far as a school principal.

Now that he has some money and feels younger, he feels it's time to improve his living conditions.

It doesn't need to be too nice, just a decent one-bedroom apartment will do.

It's closer to the school, which makes commuting to and from get off work more convenient.

He searched for rental information near the school on his phone and found that there were several communities within a three-kilometer radius with reasonable prices.

Longzeyuan, monthly rent 1,500, fully furnished one-bedroom apartment.

Huijing Garden, monthly rent 1,800, with private bathroom.

Jinxiu Residential Area, monthly rent 1200 yuan, it's an older building but the apartments are spacious.

He parked his G-Wagon at the entrance of Jinxiu Residential Area.

This neighborhood is closest to No. 13 Middle School; it's only a ten-minute walk away.

Although it's an old neighborhood, it's quiet.

After parking his car, he walked into the residential area.

The buildings are not far apart, and there are several old sycamore trees planted along the roadside.

The afternoon sun dappled through the gaps in the leaves, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

Lin Yucai walked along the path, looking at the house number on his phone and glancing around.

When I got to the ground floor of Building 3, the unit door was suddenly pushed open.

A woman wearing oversized pajamas leaned out, carrying two bags of trash.

Her hair was loosely tied into a bun, with stray hairs sticking to her forehead.

Her face was bare of makeup, she wasn't wearing glasses, and her eyes were slightly squinted...

She was wearing a pair of fluffy slippers, the left one of which had a hole in it, revealing her big toe.

Lin Yucai's first reaction was that this person looked familiar.

My second thought was, why is this woman's pajamas printed with little yellow ducks?

Then he recognized him.

Su Qingyan.

Su Qingyan, the vice principal of No. 13 Middle School, usually wears a white shirt, gold-rimmed glasses, high heels, and has a beautiful but cold expression.

At this moment, Su Qingyan, wearing a yellow duck pajama, with her hair as messy as a bird's nest, went out to throw away the trash without makeup.

Lin Yucai stopped in his tracks.

Su Qingyan also stopped.

She squinted at him for two seconds, then her pupils suddenly dilated.

"Lin Yucai?!"

"Vice Principal Su, what a coincidence."

Su Qingyan subconsciously hid the garbage bag behind her back, then realized that the action was pointless.

She took a deep breath and tried to remain calm.

"What are you doing here?"

"Looking for a place to rent and move out." Lin Yucai pointed into the neighborhood. "There's a landlord in this area who posted a rental ad online."

"You want to live in this building?" Su Qingyan's expression changed several times. "Which unit is the apartment you're looking at?"

Unit Two.

Su Qingyan's lips twitched.

Which floor?

"The landlord said it's on the fourth floor."

Su Qingyan closed her eyes briefly.

She lives on the third floor, which is the fourth floor.

What a small world.

"That house..." Su Qingyan hesitated for a moment, "...belongs to a friend of mine."

Lin Yucai was stunned.

"She was transferred to another city for work last month, and her house is empty. She asked me to help her find a tenant."

"What a coincidence?"

"It's just such a coincidence."

Su Qingyan's expression carried a sense of helplessness, as if to say, "I didn't want this to be such a coincidence either."

She looked down at her yellow duck pajamas and ripped slippers, then looked up at Lin Yucai.

"Wait for me for ten minutes. I'll go back and tidy up, then I'll take you up to see the apartment."

"OK."

Su Qingyan turned and ran upstairs, but stopped after taking two steps.

"You didn't see anything, right?"

"What do you see?" Lin Yucai asked, looking completely bewildered.

"You didn't see this?" Su Qingyan pointed to her pajamas.

"Oh, a little yellow duck? I don't see it, I don't see it."

Su Qingyan took a deep breath, turned around and went upstairs.

Footsteps echoed in the hallway.

Lin Yucai stood downstairs, a slight smile playing on his lips.

That cold-faced female demon she usually is actually like this in private.

Yellow duck pajamas, slippers, and a bird's nest hairstyle.

The contrast is too great.

About eight minutes later, Su Qingyan came downstairs.

It was done quickly, but it was clear that some work had been done.

She tied her hair back into a neat ponytail, changed into a casual hoodie and jeans, and even put on contact lenses.

Although it was much more casual than my usual business attire, at least I was back to being a normal person.

"Wait, I forgot my keys." She pulled a bunch of keys out of her pocket. "Let's go get the spare key for the fourth floor."

The two went up to the third floor.

Su Qingyan walked to her front door, inserted the key into the lock, and turned it.

Then her movements suddenly froze.

"What's wrong?"

"Wait here for a moment."

Su Qingyan opened the door a crack, slipped inside, and then closed the door.

then……

A series of crackling sounds came from inside the house.

The sound of a table being moved, the sound of a drawer being opened and closed.

There was the sound of something being stuffed into the closet, and what sounded like clothes hangers falling over on the floor.

Lin Yucai stood at the door, his shoulders shaking as he tried to suppress his laughter.

A little over a minute later, the door opened.

"Please come in. The house is a bit messy, please don't mind."

"I'll go find the keys."

Su Qingyan was slightly out of breath and stepped aside to let him in.

Lin Yucai walked in. The living room wasn't big, but it was fairly tidy... at least it was tidy for now.

The cushions on the sofa were neatly arranged, and the cups on the coffee table were wiped clean.

He sat down on the sofa and glanced around.

A watercolor painting hangs on the wall, depicting a lavender field.

The bookshelves were crammed with books, mostly on education and literature.

There's also a small bookshelf dedicated to various stationery and notebooks, arranged in a way that would please even someone with OCD.

"I'll go get the spare key from the bedroom, wait a moment." Su Qingyan walked towards the bedroom.

Lin Yucai nodded, his gaze falling on the cushions next to the sofa.

The cushion is a little crooked, and part of it is sticking out from underneath...

After realizing what was happening, Lin Yucai managed to control his expression.

He thought for a moment, then reached out and moved the cushion to the side, intending to tuck the piece of stuff inside so that Su Qingyan wouldn't be even more embarrassed if she saw it when she came out.

The moment my fingertips touched the cushion...

The bedroom door opened.

Su Qingyan came out with the keys.

Eyes facing each other.

Her gaze moved from Lin Yucai's face to his outstretched hand, and then to the sock peeking out from under the pillow.

The air freezes.

"I..." Lin Yucai's hand hovered in mid-air, "Let me tuck it in for you."

Su Qingyan's ear tips turned red at a speed visible to the naked eye.

She strode over, grabbed the cushion and everything underneath, and stuffed it into the cabinet behind her.

The movements were executed in one smooth, clean, and efficient motion, without any hesitation or slackness.

Then she turned around and held the spare key in front of Lin Yucai.

"The key to the fourth floor, let's go, let's go see the apartment."
