Greek Mythology: Starting with Becoming the God of the Breeze
Chapter 22 What do you mean by "there are other worlds"?!
"Do you know what lies at the very bottom of Tartarus?"
As Cronus finished speaking, his tone was quite solemn.
Upon hearing this, Gaia's expression changed slightly, and he subconsciously tried to stop the other party.
"Cronus! Isn't it a bit too early for you to say these things? Kanas is still a child!"
Gaia's tone was very stern.
In His view, it was true that Kanas had become a high-ranking member of the Titan pantheon, but He was not yet old or powerful enough to fully accept this news.
It's worth noting that even He struggled to control His emotions after learning about the deepest secrets of Tartarus.
"He has proven himself with facts, Mother Goddess."
Cronus's tone was icy. As a male god and the king of gods, personal feelings had to be put aside for the greater good.
Kanas's potential has been fully revealed, and he will surely become one of the most important figures in the world of Chaos in the future.
If even He cannot accept this reality, then Cronus is unsure just how fragile and weak the new generation of gods in the future Chaos world will be.
Gaia's expression became hesitant after hearing what Cronus said.
He knew perfectly well that Cronus's intentions were for the good of Chaos's world.
But Kanas is indeed very young; to put it bluntly, his worldview has only been formed for a few years. Yet he has to suffer such a blow...
"You may be very young, but you are definitely not a naive and fragile god, Kanas."
"Now, answer my question."
"Do you know what truly exists in the deepest part of Tartarus?"
After reprimanding Gaia, Cronus stared intently at Kanas with the gaze of a hawk, not wanting to miss even the slightest micro-expression on his face.
"Tartars?"
Kanas was slightly taken aback; he couldn't quite understand Cronus's thoughts.
"Isn't Tartarus just an endless abyss? There's nothing in there, right?"
When he said those words, Kanas was a little unsure of what to do.
Even in His past life memories, there was very little information about Tartarus, only that it was a place where the Titans and all sorts of heinous creatures were imprisoned.
Besides that, He knew nothing else.
"Hmm... you really don't know anything."
Seeing Kanas's performance, Cronus breathed a slight sigh of relief.
In order to ensure that the growth of the Titans would not be affected, the high-ranking members of the Titan pantheon agreed not to leak the news.
In retrospect, these guys did a pretty good job keeping things secret?
"As the King of Gods, I have an obligation to tell you this personally."
"Deep within Tartarus, there has never been any so-called abyss."
"Or rather, the so-called bottomless abyss you speak of is actually the first line of defense for our Chaos world, constructed by Tartarus using his divine body."
As he uttered these words, Cronus slowly descended from the sky, landing directly in front of Kanas.
This means that He has fully acknowledged Kanas and granted Him the right to look Him in the eye and converse with Him as an equal.
"What? A defensive line? Against whom?"
Kanas was shocked to hear this. Wasn't Tartarus a prison? How could it suddenly become the first line of defense against external enemies?
And what are these external enemies?
A celestial demon? Or some other strange, invading force?
It can't be an alien, can it?
So, is the Chaos world located on Earth?
Seeing Kanas's undisguised shock, Cronus pursed his lips slightly, as if struggling with how to continue speaking.
"Of course, it's to guard against enemies, namely those gods from other worlds..."
When he said this, Cronus's tone became somewhat clenched.
"ah?!"
Kanas was almost speechless.
Yes, you heard me right.
Seemingly worried that Kanas might not be able to accept it, Cronus abandoned the main topic and instead tried to comfort Kanas.
However, Cronus's emotional intelligence was comparable to that of a fully grown banana; his attempt to comfort Canas was not entirely ineffective, but rather completely useless.
After seeing that Kanas seemed to have completely accepted this reality, Cronus continued.
"Deep within Tartarus's deified body lies something akin to a spacetime rift."
"Strange gods appear at that spacetime rift from time to time, and it even manifests fragments of a world within it."
"The vast majority of our Titan pantheon's high-ranking members are stationed there. Nine of the twelve Titans are there, and some of their offspring also reside there with them."
After saying this, Cronus looked at Kanas.
He noticed something strange: it seemed that Kanas wasn't as surprised as he had imagined.
It should be noted that when He, as the King of Gods, learned of this news, He was shocked for several years before barely recovering.
"Currently, we are taking a rather conservative approach to that crack and have not sent any deities to investigate it."
"However, this does not mean that we know nothing about the situation there. In the years of defensive operations, we have gained a general understanding of the situation there."
At this point, Cronus manipulated his divine power, extracting the scene he wanted to show Karnas from the river of time and projecting it into the air.
"Based on our years of observation, we have discovered that the spacetime rift is expanding outwards on a scale of tens of thousands of years."
"Although its current size is still very small, the fact that the spacetime rift is expanding cannot be ignored."
"I once gathered the high-level combat power of the entire Titan pantheon in an attempt to seal that spacetime rift. To this end, I even invited three powerful gods who are still in a conscious state—Gaia the Earth Mother, Nyx the Night, and Pontos—to come and help."
"But unfortunately, even with all our strength, we still couldn't seal the crack, or even slow down its expansion."
Under the divine control of Cronus, the screen in the sky displayed the scene that had just occurred.
The earthly power of Mother Gaia, the tranquil night power of Nyx, and the boundless ocean of Pontos all crashed into the crack, but not a single ripple was made, as if the crack did not exist.
"This isn't really bad news, since it only represents an unknown enemy."
"And now for the really bad news..."
