Greek Mythology: Starting with Becoming the God of the Breeze
Chapter 27 Five Years of Change, Titan Followers
Five hundred years later, on a karst island.
After five hundred years of reflection, Kanas had now completely solidified his divine power, which had surged due to the acquisition of multiple divine titles.
Furthermore, even if He did nothing for the past five hundred years, merely consolidating His strength, He is now only one step away from the next stage of intermediate divine power.
This is the power of divinity.
As long as a god's own divine essence is powerful enough, even if the god does nothing and entrusts his essence to the Chaos world to work as a 007, his own strength can still steadily increase.
"In just five hundred years, the karst island has changed so much."
Upon awakening from his deep slumber, the first words Karnas uttered upon stepping out of the temple gates were an exclamation of how drastic the changes to Karst Island had become, so drastic that he could hardly believe it at first glance.
"Heh... only five hundred years... I've finally come to look like a god..."
However, after expressing his amazement, Kanas couldn't help but chuckle.
This smile is more about letting go.
After a period of deep sleep, His sense of time finally aligned completely with that of the gods of the Chaos world.
Five hundred years is no different from a nap for these Titan gods.
But what He found most ironic was that these five hundred years brought Him a sense of loss, even less than a whole year after He became a demigod.
Kanas remembers every single day of that year very clearly.
Or perhaps, his daily routine was the same every day back then.
Sleep, wake up, eat, wait, and then sleep again.
Fortunately, Kanas was already a demigod at that time, so his need for food was not high, and he also did not have the need to excrete. Otherwise, his daily tasks would have had an additional "process" added that year.
The reason He laughed was mainly because he personally experienced the difference between gods and mortals.
In terms of lifespan alone, it's as if the two classes of the Chaos world have been completely divided into two separate worlds.
Kanas, as a god who personally experienced both worlds, felt the most disparity between them.
Combined with the influence of His past life memories, He was able to let out that relieved laugh.
Compared to 500 years ago, the karst island has undergone tremendous changes.
The once rugged landscape has been transformed into a smooth grassland and jungle, with a ring of golden sand surrounding the island's edge.
The only thing that hasn't changed is the towering cliff in the center of the island.
At the top of the cliff stands a towering and majestic temple.
This is the Temple of the Wind.
The location chosen for the Temple of the Wind is the cliff top where Kanas first created the "Gentle Breeze," the starting point of Kanas's path to godhood. Therefore, He specifically chose this location for His temple.
In fact, Karst Island was originally just a small island, not very large in area.
Even the original top of the cliff could not have accommodated a magnificent temple.
But what can you do when Kanas has a mother goddess who rules over the earth?
As the primordial god symbolizing the earth, Gaia only needed to slightly raise her mind to "renovate" the karst island of Kanas.
First, there's the area.
Karst Island was just a small island before, with an overall area not much different from that of a small village.
Now, thanks to Gaia's "refinement," Karst Island has been transformed into a large island spanning hundreds of kilometers.
In fact, Gaia originally wanted to further expand the karst island area for Kanas, but Kanas himself felt it was unnecessary.
The main reason He abandoned building temples in other scenic locations was the special significance that the karst island held for Him.
He has lived on the karst island since He can remember.
Although this place is neither beautiful nor rich, it holds all of Kanas's memories from his birth to his godhood.
More importantly, the karst islands were a place of refuge given to Him by His father, the god of the east wind, Euros.
When Kanas was still vulnerable, it was the storms surrounding the karst island that protected him from harm by hostile creatures from the outside.
After all, the social hierarchy in the Chaos world is very distinct.
As gods, they control the vast majority of resources in the Chaos world, have little to no conflict of interest, and given their immortality, fighting each other would only bring them unnecessary trouble.
Therefore, among the gods, the number of times they directly take action is actually very small.
Below the level of gods, battles and killings occur countless times almost every day.
After all, beings below the level of gods still have physiological needs.
They are afraid of the cold and afraid of hunger.
In order to gradually grow stronger from ordinary beings and embark on the path to godhood, these ordinary beings often seize any opportunity.
A meal that would allow them to survive longer, and a piece of metal ore that could be used to forge stronger weapons and gain an advantage in the upcoming battle.
Even more remarkably, some incredibly lucky individuals might even acquire rare items in certain places that would attract the attention of the gods.
Kanas, however, did not experience such a thing. He was well protected by Euros. Everything he burned when he became a god—his divine power, life force, and even his soul—was nourished by Euros's divine power, which enabled him to successfully embark on the path to godhood.
To better commemorate that time, and to remind himself to be grateful to God the Father, Kanas chose Karst Island as the place where he would establish his future roots.
In addition to the size and ecological changes of the karst islands themselves, many tall and robust demigod-level Titans have also appeared on the islands.
These demigods, like Kanas before he became a god, were all offspring of a deity in the Titan pantheon.
However, their status as offspring of gods did not bring them many benefits. Apart from their own race and the divine power they received from their fathers at fixed times and intervals, they were almost no different from the outsiders, the Daimon and the Nymphs.
Some of these gods were given to Kanas by the Earth Mother Gaia. They were few in number, but they were elite. Although there were only one hundred of them, they had undergone special training. In terms of close combat skills alone, they were even stronger than Kanas.
The rest learned through various connections that Kanas became a god in just a few decades and even obtained several powerful divine titles within a year.
Among them, some of the demigods who held high positions in the Titan Court of Titans learned that in addition to obtaining several powerful divine titles, Kanas also obtained several subordinate minor divine titles.
This news was far more shocking to them than Kanas obtaining several powerful divine titles.
