Greek Mythology: Starting with Becoming the God of the Breeze
Chapter 7 "Generosity" of Cronus
God is complex.
Kanas quietly calmed his mind and rummaged through the dusty fragments of his past life's memories, finding scattered records and evaluations of the current god-king Cronus.
Despite Cronus's current rule over the entire world of Chaos, the records about him could probably be filled on a single page.
In those fragmented impressions, this Titan king who controlled time and ruled over all gods was cruel and bloodthirsty, acted arbitrarily, never listened to any advice, and was both stubborn and sinister.
What's most chilling is that well-known secret.
To solidify his supreme position as the king of gods and secure his throne, Cronus went so far as to devour his own offspring to sever the prophesied fate of his children killing their fathers and seizing power.
Cannibalism!
This is a terrifying thing, at any time and in any world.
Just thinking about such cold-blooded behavior made Kanas's delicate eyebrows furrow slightly, and his face involuntarily revealed a hint of undisguised resistance and discomfort.
But now that the situation is settled, he is powerless to resist.
She could only transform into a gentle breeze, concealing her human form, and quietly follow her grandfather Astraeus, flying together toward Mount Oterius, the sacred site of the Titans.
In his past life, he had heard of Mount Olympus, which would later become famous, and knew that it was the abode of the future new god-king who would rule the world.
But in the eyes of Kanas, who had already arrived at his destination, Mount Olympus, which now stood between heaven and earth, should be even more majestic and magnificent than Mount Olympus.
From Kanas's perspective, Mount Otres is less a "mountain" and more a pillar supporting the sky and the earth.
If Kanas hadn't known that the missing piece of the first god-king Uranus had been thrown into the sea, he probably would have immediately assumed that this pillar was the embodiment of that object.
"Isn't it spectacular? Mount Otrothus is the highest mountain in the Chaos world, and also the place closest to the sky."
Seemingly sensing Kanas's shock, Astraeus spoke up to explain.
"It is said that the original land was flat, without mountains, hills, rivers, or lakes."
"As the noble Earth Mother Gaia gave birth to the gods, the sky, the bottom of the sea, and the unevenness of the earth were born."
"Mount Otyrus was a gift from Uriah, the god who symbolizes the convex surface of the earth, to Uranus, the first king of the gods."
"After all, they used to have a pretty good relationship..."
As a senior member of the Titan pantheon, although not as "ancient" as his father Crios, He was still quite familiar with some of the secrets.
Kanas did not answer, mainly because he did not know what to say, so he could only respond with silence.
Fortunately, Astraeus didn't care. He always had a high degree of tolerance and patience towards his divine descendants.
"Alright, we've arrived."
"Reveal your Titan form. There are still some etiquette to observe when paying homage to the King of Gods."
After a rapid flight, the two finally arrived at their destination.
What came into view of Kanas was a flat ground. The top of Mount Otrothus was not as rugged as he had imagined; it was as smooth as if it had been carved out with a knife.
At the mountaintop, magnificent palace buildings rise from the ground, accompanied by numerous trees, flowers, and other decorations.
Beautiful nymphs gathered in groups, voluntarily managing the affairs of the temple for their god.
The largest of them must be the palace of the god-king Cronus.
Led by Astraeus, Kanas soon arrived at the palace of Cronus.
The two nymphs standing in front of the door respectfully bowed to the two gods, then opened the door and let them in.
The God-King had already given the order, and the two nymphs had no right to stop the two primordial gods.
Astraeus didn't move, but instead gestured for Kanas to go in himself.
"The God-King summoned you; it has nothing to do with me."
Astraeus said.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
Upon entering the main hall, Kanas immediately noticed the imposing figure seated on the throne.
In the world of Chaos, the average height of the Titans is between three and five meters.
This size perfectly ensures that members of the Titan race can unleash their powerful physical strength without suffering any negative effects.
If a person is too large, their agility will be affected to some extent.
In battles of similar skill levels, agility and speed are also key factors in determining victory or defeat.
Of course, these are just body parameters under normal conditions.
If divine power is activated or the divine spark is triggered, the size of the Titan's body will also undergo a tremendous change.
Take, for example, Uranus, the first god-king.
In its normal state, His Titan form was only a little over five meters tall.
However, if Uranus were to activate his own divine nature as a sky god, he would transform into the sky itself, and the size of the entire god would be immeasurable.
The figure sitting on the throne seemed to be a head shorter than Kanas, who was standing.
Canas, on the other hand, is four meters tall.
"Hmm? You are the newly born God of the Breeze."
Kronos raised his eyes and looked at Kanas, who had just stepped through the door.
He did not unleash his divine power as a god-king; he simply looked at the other party in an ordinary manner.
From Kanas's perspective, Cronus's gaze was filled with oppression and aggression, even causing his body to instinctively become alert.
His muscles tensed, his divine power flowed faster, and even his divine essence was in a semi-activated state.
With a mere thought, Kanas could instantly transform into a gentle breeze and escape the palace.
"Alright, little one, don't be nervous, I won't hurt you."
To Karnas's surprise, Cronus, whom he perceived as cruel and capricious, was not angered by his actions.
On the contrary, He even read a hint of appreciation in the other person's expression.
Is that correct?
However, since the other party has no hostility, there is no need for Kanas to continue to "make a fool of himself" like this.
In the eyes of that god-king, Kanas's wary gesture might seem as ridiculous as seeing a cat hissing in his previous life.
"Homage to you, mighty God-King, great God of Time, Lord Cronus."
Kanas stepped forward and bowed respectfully toward where Cronus was.
As the one being protected, He should have respect for the one being protected.
All living beings in the world of Chaos are under the protection of the god-king Cronus.
"Hmm...not bad."
Seeing this, Cronus nodded in satisfaction.
As the King of Gods, He enjoys the feeling of being appreciated and respected.
Although Kanas looked somewhat weak, he performed quite well and seemed to genuinely respect himself.
Furthermore, Kanas is a newly born primordial god, and it is said that for decades after his birth he was well protected on the karst island and had not come into contact with many people, just like a blank sheet of paper.
Kanas's respect is far more precious than the respect of those old-timers among the gods.
This made Cronus, who always felt surrounded by a group of hypocritical gods, feel a little more favor towards it.
"As the God-King, I have a duty to help the newly born gods better integrate into the Titan Divine Court and grasp authority."
"But your original divinity was created by yourself, so there's nothing I can do to help you."
"Here's what we'll do. I'll make the decision. You go to Mother Gaia yourself and get that authority that symbolizes the [Storm]. Consider it my gift to you."
"I think He has been gestating for so long but has not produced anything worthwhile. It would be better to simply give it away and completely perfect the wind-elemental authority of the Chaos world."
