Shu Zi was taken aback by his words. She opened her mouth but found herself at a loss for words. In the end, she simply turned over and faced away from him, pulling the blanket up to cover half of her face.

Gu Yan smiled and stopped teasing her.

He loosened his arms around her waist, sat up, and casually picked up his phone from the bedside table to glance at it:

"Get up, go down and check the situation."

Shu Zi said "Oh," and sat up as well. She tidied her slightly messy hair and then quickly slipped back to the master bedroom.

When she finished washing up and changing her clothes, Gu Yan was already ready and was leaning against the door waiting for her.

The two went downstairs together.

In the living room, Director Liu was sitting on the sofa making a phone call. His voice was low, but you could hear the fatigue in his tone.

"...Yes, the statement has been issued...Yes, okay...Contact me if there are any updates."

He hung up the phone, put it on the coffee table, leaned back on the sofa, and rubbed his temples.

Hearing footsteps on the stairs, he looked up and saw Shu Zi and Gu Yan. His expression relaxed slightly.

"You're awake? Come and sit down."

"How is Huanhuan?" Shuzi walked over and sat down.

"I have a sprained ankle ligament and a slightly twisted wrist, but it's not too serious. The doctor said I need to rest for a few days and doesn't recommend walking around too much."

Shu Zi breathed a slight sigh of relief; it was good that it wasn't too serious.

Director Liu continued:

"I've already had someone take her back to her room and arranged for staff to take care of her."

"She might not be able to participate in the entire recording process these next few days; we'll see how things go."

Shu Zi nodded: "Is she awake now?"

"She's awake. The staff just said she ate something and seems to be in a good mood."

Director Liu paused, then added:

"That kid Jiang Yunyou went to her room early this morning, saying he wanted to make sure she wasn't dead. I scolded him, and now he's staying obediently in the living room."

Shu Zi's lips twitched. As expected of him.

Director Liu: "We will not be doing a live broadcast this morning. Let's give everyone some time to rest and let Su Yanhuan get some rest. We'll see how things go this afternoon."

Shu Zi nodded. Just as she was about to ask something else, she caught a glimpse of someone coming down the stairs.

It's Fang Yutong.

She wore a light apricot-colored dress today, and her hair was tied up. She looked more energetic than last night.

She walked downstairs, her gaze sweeping across the living room before finally settling on Director Liu:

"Director Liu, how is Huanhuan? I didn't sleep well last night, I'm really worried about her."

Director Liu explained the situation to her again.

Fang Yutong breathed a sigh of relief after hearing this: "That's good, it's good that it's not serious."

She paused, then added, "I'll go check on her later."

Director Liu stood up and patted his knees:

"Alright, alright, you guys figure it out yourselves. There will be no live stream this morning. You're free to do whatever you want."

After saying that, he turned and left.

Shu Zi sat on the sofa, holding a water glass in her hand, and did not reply.

As soon as Director Liu left, Fang Yutong turned to her again, her tone filled with concern:

"Zizi, did you sleep well last night? I tossed and turned until quite late before I fell asleep, I kept thinking about Huanhuan."

"It's alright," Shu Zi replied briefly, without saying anything more.

Fang Yutong seemed oblivious to her coldness and asked again, "Director Liu said there won't be a live broadcast today. Do you have any plans?"

"I haven't decided yet."

Fang Yutong smiled and said, "That's perfect. I was planning to go for a walk on the beach. Want to come along?"

Shu Zi glanced at her, paused for two seconds, raised an eyebrow, and said, "Okay, but I have something to do right now, let's do it tonight."

Fang Yutong was taken aback for a moment, as if she hadn't expected her to agree, then smiled and nodded:

"Okay, then I'll go check on Huanhuan first."

Shu Zi nodded.

Fang Yutong turned and went upstairs, her figure quickly disappearing at the top of the stairs.

Shu Zi looked away, picked up her water glass, and took another sip.

Gu Yan sat next to her without saying a word. Only after Fang Yutong left did he turn his head and ask in a low voice:

"Going?"

Shu Zi put down her cup and said in a nonchalant tone, "Hmm, why not go?"

Gu Yan looked at her and raised an eyebrow.

Shu Zi put down her water glass: "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."

Gu Yan nodded and didn't say anything more.

Shu Zi sat in the living room for a while longer, finished her glass of water, and decided to go upstairs to check on Su Yan Huan.

She told Gu Yan what was going on, then got up and went upstairs.

Reaching the door of the master bedroom in apartment 302, she knocked. Su Yanhuan's voice came from inside: "Come in!"

Shu Zi pushed open the door and saw Su Yan Huan lying on the bed in a contorted position.

One foot was propped up on the pillow, her ankle swollen like a bun, and her wrist was wrapped in bandages, but she seemed to be in pretty good spirits.

Because she was holding up her phone, trying different angles at the camera, and muttering to herself:

"This lighting is no good...it makes my face look so big...no, no, let's do it again..."

Hearing the door open, she looked up, saw it was Shu Zi, immediately tossed her phone aside, opened her arms wide, and made an exaggerated expression:

"Sister Zizi~~~ You're finally here! Do you know how bored I've been lying here all by myself!"

Shu Zi chuckled and walked over to sit down on the chair beside the bed.

"Where's Jiang Yunyou? Didn't he come first thing this morning to check if you were alive or dead?"

Upon hearing this, Su Yanhuan rolled her eyes dramatically.

"He's playing games right in front of me! What, does he think he's got hands?!"

"He was yelling and screaming while he was hitting me. I couldn't take it anymore. Just then, Sister Yutong arrived, so I asked her to help me get rid of him."

"He said he was here to keep me company, but he was only focused on his game the whole time. He didn't even bother to let me see him. What use is he to me!"

Shu Zi: "..."

So you're blaming him for not giving you two taps?!

Her lips twitched slightly as she glanced at her swollen ankle: "How is it? Does it still hurt?"

"The pain isn't so bad, it's just ugly."

Su Yanhuan pointed to her ankle, "Look how swollen it is, it looks like a pig's trotter."

"I was just about to take a picture and send it to my fans to let them know I'm safe. But there are so many rumors going around online right now. One minute they're saying the production team is abusing the guests, and the next they're saying they were kidnapped and then tried to kill them."

"If I don't clarify this soon, the next thing to spread will be the news that 'a certain celebrity was involved in a dating reality show.'"

Shu Zi chuckled at her teasing: "Are you done taking pictures?"

"I took several photos, chose one that was barely acceptable, edited it a bit, and posted it."

Su Yanhuan picked up her phone and scrolled through it:

"However, the comments section still doesn't believe it. Some people say that I photoshopped it, and that I was coerced by the production team to wink and give a hint."

Su Yanhuan rubbed her forehead. "I really have no other ideas."

Shu Zi leaned back in her chair, her tone carrying a hint of world-weariness:

"You'll get used to it. I've learned this the hard way. If you take online arguments too seriously, you've already lost."

After a pause, she changed the subject and asked casually:

"But how exactly did you fall last night? Did you really lose your footing?"
