When Xu Jia looked up and saw Xu Yuanjia walk into the classroom, his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly.

He was wearing a loose black leather jacket today, over a soft, cool white T-shirt. The shoulder line was neat, and he looked lazy, as if he had just happened to be passing by the classroom.

His gaze fell on the USB drive, a cold, murderous intent flashing in his eyes before he quickly returned to his listless state.

Xu Jia remained seated, meeting Xu Yuanjia's gaze calmly. "I'm concerned about my students."

Xu Yuanjia glanced sideways at the USB drive in Shi Luyu's hand, and the corners of his lips slowly curved into a smile: "A student?"

He said in a casual tone, "Teaching Assistant Xu is really dedicated and responsible. He cares about his students so much in his spare time."

Xu Jia retorted sharply, "This is a first-year open course. As far as I know, you're a graduate student, right?"

Xu Yuanjia chuckled softly, the sound echoing eerily in the empty classroom: "An open lecture, and it says graduate students aren't allowed?"

His lips slowly curved into a smile.

He changed the subject: "Or are you saying that graduate students can't pick up their freshman girlfriends after class?"

Xu Jia's expression turned slightly cold.

Xu Yuanjia had already walked to Shi Luyu's side, lazily raising his hand to put it on her shoulder, his posture flippant. He turned his head to look at Xu Jia, "Sorry, I really didn't know when Assistant Professor Xu set new regulations for Taimai."

Shi Luyu's breath hitched. The words "girlfriend," spoken so casually by him, made her ears burn red.

Xu Jia was speechless, his gaze fixed on Xu Yuanjia.

Xu Yuanjia wore a half-smile, a lazy, roguish, and contemptuous expression. His handsome, sharp face held a smile, yet it was utterly devoid of warmth.

The two men's eyes met in mid-air.

He appeared gentle and upright, but his eyes held a suppressed anger.

On one hand, he appears carefree and dissolute, but deep down he is extremely dangerous and in control.

The sunlight streaming through the classroom window was bright, yet the atmosphere was tense. It was as if an invisible string was about to snap at the slightest touch.

Xu Yuanjia chose a restaurant by the river. The terrace had a great view, with a row of tropical plants around the table, and in the distance, the lights of Taimai City could be seen slowly coming on in the evening.

Shi Luyu was still distracted by what happened in the classroom, but Xu Yuanjia acted as if nothing had happened, peeling shrimp for her, picking out fish bones for her, and pushing her favorite dishes in front of her as usual.

"You've been holding that in your hand the whole way, aren't you tired?"

Shi Luyu paused, looked down, and realized that the USB drive was still in her palm, which was so tightly gripped that it was getting warm.

Xu Yuanjia didn't say anything, but slowly picked up his water glass, lowered his eyes, and took a sip.

Shi Luyu pursed her lips, put the USB drive into her bag, and said, "Let's eat first."

Xu Yuanjia raised an eyebrow, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

After dinner, Xu Yuanjia took her shopping.

He bought her a light pink hairband and a bunny-shaped scented candle. Shi Luyu said she didn't need it, but he lazily said, "Brother wants to spend money on the bunny."

Later, they passed by an old-fashioned photography shop, where Shi Luyu was drawn to a vintage camera in the window.

Xu Yuanjia did not go in to buy immediately.

He just chuckled softly, "Now you've learned to be polite with your older brother?"

Shi Luyu whispered, "It's not that I'm being polite, it's just too expensive."

Xu Yuanjia leaned close to her ear and said, "The thing your brother has in abundance is money."

Shi Luyu's ears burned, and she pushed him away, saying, "Don't always do this."

"What?"

"That's wasteful."

Xu Yuanjia's eyes gleamed with arrogance as he lazily said, "Little rabbits are so easy to raise, I've already been very restrained."
