Border Prisoner: The Mad Boss Seduces Her Every Night

Chapter 161 Using My Corpse as a Bridge

The border is right in front of us.

Shi Luyu stood amidst the weeds and pebbles, her backpack still slung over her shoulder, the wind whipping her clothes backward.

The rusty fence was just a few steps away, and a hundred meters further ahead was the national gate she thought she could finally cross.

But now, all paths have closed in her way.

Dozens of vehicles turned on their headlights almost simultaneously.

A pale, cold, and emotionless beam of light pressed down from all directions, pinning her to the spot.

The brightness was almost blinding, illuminating the weeds, the fence, the gravel path, and her thin, slender figure, leaving them nowhere to hide.

The SUV was tall and imposing, entirely black, its body gleaming coldly under the lights. Despite having driven all the way from the city, the tires were only covered with a very thin layer of dust. The body was low and cool, with clean, streamlined lines, exuding an inorganic, cold feeling of a violent machine.

When the lights come on, it has a kind of arrogant yet cold beauty.

This forms the most striking contrast with Shi Luyu, who stands in the center.

She was dressed in inconspicuous clothes that she had deliberately chosen to escape, with her hat brim pulled low, her shoulders and back thin, her face pale, and her whole body was illuminated by dozens of lights, making her look both slender and disheveled.

She was so close to the border, yet she seemed to be nailed to this frontier, shadow and all.

She didn't seem to have any emotional reaction; she wasn't agitated or on the verge of a breakdown.

He didn't even turn and run away in a fit of rage like he had before.

Her hope had been utterly crushed in that instant, leaving her with an almost numb calm. Looking at the grand and imposing encirclement before her, she felt a profound emptiness in her chest, as if even her heartbeat had slowed.

Immediately afterwards, all the car doors opened at once.

Bang, bang, bang—

The sounds rang out one after another, remarkably synchronized.

One by one, men in black got out of the car, their movements swift and synchronized, their positions quickly and precisely spread out.

As the night wind blew by, the black and gold serpent and eagle emblems on their shoulders gleamed with a cold golden light under the car headlights, as if countless eyes that had been lurking in the night were opening at the same time.

Shi Luyu stood in the center, her throat tight.

This wasn't the first time she'd seen the emblem, nor was it the first time she'd met Xu Yuanjia. But never before had it been presented to her so completely, so directly, so inescapably.

After everyone had settled down, the door of the car in the very center slowly opened.

Zhou Ji got out first. Dressed in black, wearing glasses, with a calm expression, he stood beside the car door, stepping aside to make room for him.

Then it was Chai Ye's turn. The man's face remained as cold and hard as if carved by a knife. He landed first, then bent down to open the door for the person in the car.

Finally, there was Xu Yuanjia.

Shi Luyu's gaze froze.

When the man got out of the car, it was as if he had stepped into this borderland from another world.

A black leather jacket draped loosely over his shoulders, underneath which was a simple white T-shirt. He wore wide-leg suit trousers with a great drape, making his legs look excessively long. He walked with a languid gait, but his shoulder line was clearly defined.

The night breeze ruffled a few stray hairs on his forehead, making his face appear excessively beautiful at the boundary between the bright light and the darkness. Yet, he was also arrogant, unruly, and unrestrained, as if nothing could restrain him.

Everyone faced him, heads bowed in silence, so solemn they were almost holding their breath.

But he alone stood out from the entire oppressive and tense atmosphere of the encirclement.

Xu Yuanjia glanced at Shi Luyu, then braced himself against the hood of the car with one hand, and with a swift and clean movement, flipped over and jumped directly onto the roof.

The leather boots made a dull thud as they stepped on the edge of the car roof.

He knelt on one knee, looking down at the viewer, casually holding a gun in one hand, his posture relaxed as if he were playing around.

Car headlights and the night, the car formation, guns and people—all became his backdrop. His glamorous, radiant appearance contrasted sharply with Shi Luyu's deathly pale face as she stood under the lights.

Shi Luyu stared intently at him, her voice slightly muffled by the night wind, yet still clear:

"Xu Yuanjia, you still won't let me go?"

The man on the roof tilted his head and raised an eyebrow slightly.

For a moment, he even looked a little innocent. "Baby wants to go home?"

As he spoke, he casually tossed the gun toward her.

The metal streaked through the air with a cold light.

Shi Luyu's heart skipped a beat, and she almost instinctively reached out to catch it. The gun was incredibly heavy, and she caught it in a flustered manner, her palm going numb from the impact, and she almost dropped it to the ground.

The surroundings were eerily quiet; everyone was watching her.

Xu Yuanjia sat on the roof of the car, a slight smile playing on his lips, and a hint of genuine curiosity in his eyes.

"I'll use my corpse as a bridge for you."

"OK?"

Shi Luyu looked down at the gun in her hand and remained motionless for a long time.

The metallic chill in her palm seeped into her bones, surprisingly heavy. The night wind whistled past her ears, the car headlights remained bright, and everyone's gaze felt like invisible needles, pressing down on her.

Xu Yuanjia looked at her in silence and chuckled softly, "What's wrong, Lulu?"

"Don't you want to leave? Now you have your chance."

"Don't you hate me the most?" He leaned down slightly, his gaze fixed intently, but his tone was so casual it was almost coaxing. "Come on, shoot."

Shi Luyu's fingers tightened little by little, and her wrist trembled.

She seemed trapped in a state of both anger and helplessness, pushed to the limit. She stared at the gun in her hand, then slowly looked up at the man on the roof of the car.

He was handsome but lazy, both despicable and hateful.

She gritted her teeth and finally raised the gun little by little.

The moment the gun was raised and aimed at him, almost all the men in black around him raised their guns at the same time.

The safety was released, and the gun barrels were all aimed at Shi Luyu.

She stood in the very center, as if silently surrounded by a whole forest of cold guns.

Xu Yuanjia's expression remained unchanged. He simply tapped the roof of the car lightly with the muzzle of his gun, producing a crisp, muffled sound.

His eyes turned cold, and his voice deepened, "What are you doing, trying to rebel?"

Zhou Ji and Chai Ye simultaneously raised their hands, signaling everyone to put down their guns.

The neatly aligned gun barrels slowly pressed down, and the border line once again fell into an almost eerie silence.

Only Shi Luyu remained holding a gun.

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't pull the trigger.

She clearly hated him to the core.

I wish none of this had ever happened.

If they had simply imposed the restrictions, perhaps all the roadblocks, headlights, border closures, and citywide curfews could have ended at once.

But her hands were shaking, as if all her strength had been drained away.

The gun was clearly pointed at him, but it seemed like she was the first one to give in.

Xu Yuanjia looked at her and smiled.

The night breeze ruffled the stray hairs on his forehead. The man sat on the roof of the car, his eyes deep and unfathomable, the slight curve of his lips carrying an indescribable playfulness and cruelty.

"Can't bring yourself to do it?" he asked softly, as if he already knew the answer.

Shi Luyu felt a tightness in her chest, and her eyes gradually reddened, but she still stubbornly refused to put down the gun.

Xu Yuanjia, however, slowly stood up and jumped off the roof of the car.

The leather boots landed cleanly and crisply. "Now it's my turn to torment you."

He walked towards her step by step.

Shi Luyu abruptly retreated, finally breaking down completely: "Don't come any closer! Get away from me!"

"Xu Yuanjia, you're a madman... Let me go!"

She retreated while cursing, her voice trembling, and her gun tilted to one side. The gun was quickly snatched from her hand, and she began to struggle, to fight, and to desperately retreat.

"Get out of here! I want to go home!"

"I don't want to see you! I don't want to—"

She kicked out, hitting the man's shin, but almost lost her balance herself.

Xu Yuanjia's smile faded slightly, his brows furrowed, revealing a hint of impatience. "Have you had enough fun?"

Shi Luyu wouldn't listen at all, raised her hand to push him again, tears streaming down her face, her voice shrill and hoarse.

"Let me go! What right do you have to treat me like this?!"

"What right do you have?!"

The more she struggled, the more chaotic her movements became. Under the light, her entire body appeared pale and blurry, and her thin wrists, calves, and reddened eyes all conveyed a sense of fragility, as if she were about to break apart.

Xu Yuanjia stared at her for a few seconds, and finally, as if he was really annoyed, he simply stepped forward and hoisted her up by the waist with one hand.

"ah--!"

When Shi Luyu was hoisted onto his shoulder, she screamed in alarm and struggled with her hands and feet, punching his back repeatedly and kicking her legs wildly.

"Let me go! Xu Yuanjia! Put me down!"

"Bastard! Madman!"

Her fighting style was completely chaotic, more like a breakdown. But her strength, when applied to Xu Yuanjia, was so great that it couldn't even make him flinch.

He pressed down on her knees with one hand, his expression growing increasingly impatient, and finally he simply chopped her on the back of the neck.

The force wasn't strong, but it was enough to make her vision suddenly go black.

Shi Luyu's body went limp, and she finally quieted down.

The border area is completely silent.

All that remains is the sound of the wind blowing through the wild grass.
