Border Prisoner: The Mad Boss Seduces Her Every Night

Chapter 29 "Makes Me Happy"

The moment the water reached her head, every inch of Shi Luyu's skin trembled violently.

The hand gripped her neck, its five fingers tightened like an iron clamp, easily pushing her underwater.

Her face was submerged in water, her mouth opened uncontrollably, water rushed into her mouth and nose, and choked her trachea. A burning pain spread from her throat to her chest.

"Ugh! Glug..."

She struggled desperately.

She clung tightly to the edge of the bathtub with both hands, her fingernails scraping against the white ceramic with a harsh sound. Her legs thrashed wildly in the water, her knees slamming against the tub wall, causing her pain.

Her lungs were in pain, and she couldn't bend her strong arm; she could only feel the veins running from the back of her hand all the way to the rolled-up cuff.

Just as her vision began to darken, the hand suddenly released its grip.

"Splash—"

Shi Luyu suddenly sprang out of the water and lay on the edge of the bathtub, coughing violently.

Water gushed from her nose and mouth, and she coughed so hard she almost choked. Tears and snot, along with the choked water and saliva overflowing from the corners of her mouth, smeared all over her face.

Her head was still spinning, but the instinct for survival drove her to crawl out. She tumbled out of the bathtub and fell onto the marble floor with a thud.

Her knees and elbows ached so badly that she couldn't climb any further.

She lay sprawled on the carpet, her long, soaking wet hair disheveled and falling across her face, water droplets trickling down her face. Her shoulder blades heaved with each rapid breath, like a bird with broken wings on the verge of death.

A pair of black leather shoes appeared in her blurry vision.

The leather was shiny and the shoes were spotless, creating a cruel contrast with her disheveled, soaking wet appearance as she lay sprawled on the ground.

The man's exquisitely crafted, luxurious shoe tip reached out and lifted her chin.

She was forced to tilt her head back, revealing her pale face. Water droplets trickled down her pointed chin and onto his shoes.

Xu Yuanjia looked down at her.

The black and gold eagle head mask covered most of his face, revealing only his unfathomable eyes and thin lips.

He looked down at her from his high position, like a cold statue in the dark night.

"We meet again, little wildcat." His voice was unhurried and lazy, as if he were greeting a disobedient pet.

"Do you think that once you leave me, I'll easily let you go?"

Shi Luyu, supporting herself with trembling arms, got up from the ground. She knelt on the carpet, her thin and slender figure visible in the dim light.

She raised her head, her eyes red-rimmed and her lips pale, but there was a stubbornness in her eyes, as if she had been driven to the brink of despair.

"What exactly do you want?" Her voice was hoarse, full of the bitterness from choking on water. "Money? You wouldn't even look at the little money my family has, would you? Or my... worthless life."

Beneath the mask, a slight smile curved the corners of the man's mouth.

"I'm bored. I wanted to play with you."

These words floated off his lips casually, as if he were talking about the weather.

Shi Luyu was shocked and furious. She didn't know where the strength came from, but she suddenly pushed herself up from the ground.

The moment her knees left the carpet, a hand pressed down on her shoulder with such precision that she couldn't avoid it, forcing her back down.

She knelt back in front of him.

The carpet fibers tickled her knees; he stood, she knelt. He was impeccably dressed, she was disheveled. She dared not look up, her eyes lowered, her gaze fixed on the silver belt buckle at his waist.

The metal was cold, reflecting a captivating light.

"Kneel properly." His voice came down from above, not loud, but like a nail driven into the bone.

She tried to straighten her back, but her knees were numb from being on the carpet for so long, and her body involuntarily swayed to the side. He didn't say anything, but simply reached out and used two fingers to press against her shoulder, helping her to sit upright.

The feeling of being controlled made her breathing quicken.

"Lift your head up."

Shi Luyu bit her lip and slowly raised her head. Her gaze moved from the belt buckle to his chest, then to his chin, but she never dared to meet his eyes.

The eyes beneath the mask stared at her, like a hunter waiting for its prey to run into him.

She finally mustered her courage, raised her eyelashes, and met his gaze for a moment.

In that instant, his hand gripped the back of her head, holding her in place, preventing her from looking down and dodging.

"Don't move," he said.

Shi Luyu froze. Her head was firmly supported by his palm, held in a slightly tilted-back position, with nowhere to escape. She could feel the warmth of his palm seeping into her scalp through her hair, and his breath falling on her face.

Her eyelashes began to tremble.

Tears welled up in her eyes, but she dared not blink, afraid that if she did, the tears would roll onto his hand. But the tears were disobedient, gathering more and more until they finally could not bear the weight and fell from the tips of her eyelashes.

He raised his other hand and caught the tear with his thumb.

His fingertips brushed across her cheekbone, slowly tracing the path of her tear stains downwards, the movement unhurried, as if tracing the edge of a painting.

"Why are you crying?" His voice was low and hoarse, making it impossible to tell whether it was a question or a statement.

Shi Luyu's lips were trembling. She wanted to say, "I didn't cry," but her throat felt like it was blocked by something, and she could only let out a soft sob.

His hand slid from the back of her head to her chin, his fingers spread, gripping the bony edges of her jaw, applying slight pressure to force her lips to part slightly.

"Do you know how to make me happy?"

Shi Luyu wanted to shake her head, but his hand, gripping her chin, prevented her from moving. She could only express her confusion with her eyes. Tears blurred her vision, and she couldn't see the expression behind his mask, only the sharp, knife-like outline of his eagle beak in the dim light.

She didn't understand. She really didn't understand. All she wanted was to live.

Xu Yuanjia stared at her for a few seconds, reading all the fear and helplessness in her tearful eyes.

He let go.

He didn't push her away; he slowly loosened his fingers, freeing her chin from his grasp. Then he placed his hand on the top of her head and gently pressed it down.

"Lower your head back."

Shi Luyu felt as if she had been granted a pardon and immediately lowered her head. But his hand was still pressing on the top of her head, preventing her from lowering it too much.

"Keep your back straight and place your hands on your knees."

She did as instructed. Her kneeling posture changed from curled up to upright, her back gradually straightened from bent, and her hands were placed on her knees, her fingertips still trembling.

He stood up, walked around her, and came up behind her. The sound of his footsteps was completely absorbed on the carpet, and she didn't know where he had stopped, only feeling a sense of oppression coming from behind her.

Then, a finger reached out from behind her and touched the back of her neck.

The fingertips, neither cold nor hot, landed on the most prominent bone in her cervical spine.

"This line," his voice came from behind her ear, "must not bend."

Shi Luyu tensed her back even more, afraid that if she relaxed even slightly, that finger would turn into a knife.

A very soft laugh came from behind me.

The finger slid down the back of her neck and disappeared. Footsteps sounded again, moving from behind her to her side and then back to her.

He sat back down in his chair, crossed his legs, and looked down at her.

The girl knelt upright, her hands neatly placed on her knees, her head bowed, and tears still clinging to her eyelashes. She was trembling, yet she maintained the posture, like a small porcelain vase being forcibly straightened.

"Isn't that what I've learned?" he said, a hint of lazy satisfaction in his voice.

He leaned down, put one arm around her waist, and picked her up in his arms.

Before Shi Luyu could react, she felt herself being thrown into a soft sofa. She fell and bounced on the cushion, her hair falling loose over her shoulder.

She frantically tried to get up, but he had already pounced on her, and then, the roles were reversed—

The man's thin lips landed on his lips.
