"OK."

Shen Jin smiled, draped the towel over the back of the chair, and sat down in front of the vanity mirror.

Water droplets from the ends of her hair slid down the back of her neck and into her collar, leaving several dark streaks.

Lin Zhiyao walked over with a hairdryer in hand, the warm air blowing away the moisture in his hair, and gently ran her fingers through his wet black hair.

His hair was softer than it looked, and there was a smooth resistance when you ran your fingertips through it.

The crisp, refreshing air was lifted by the warm wind, and the cedar trees, mixed with moisture, created a misty atmosphere, as if one had stepped into a simple wooden cabin in the wilderness after a rain.

Lin Zhiyao's nose twitched slightly, but her hands didn't stop. She blew carefully, even gently brushing away the few stray strands of hair at her temples.

Shen Jin kept his eyes closed, letting her do as she pleased.

The room was quiet, with only the low hum of the hairdryer.

Lin Zhiyao's gaze inadvertently swept over the foot of the bed, which they had made a mess of.

Lin Zhiyao blushed and didn't dare to look any longer, but suddenly, she realized that something was wrong.

Lin Zhiyao looked over again.

I suppressed my shyness and took a closer look.

She then discovered that the bed sheets and duvet cover had been changed at some point, completely different from the plain white three-piece set she had seen when she first came in.

The carpet was also noticeably different; it wasn't the short-pile gray carpet commonly used in hotels, but rather a thicker and softer goose down carpet.

The feel underfoot is completely different.

Judging from the timeline, their outfits were likely changed around the time they first encountered the raccoon outside.

Lin Zhiyao paused for a moment.

I suddenly realized a small problem.

It's normal to change Shen Jin's room items, but why did the assistant change her room items as well on the first day she arrived?

At that time, the raccoon had not yet come, and Shen Jin had not yet said that he wanted to live with her.

Lin Zhiyao blinked, her fingertips continuing to play with his hair. Her mind raced, and she felt something was off, but she couldn't figure out what the problem was, so she quietly shook her head.

Perhaps it was because she lived next door as an accompanying staff member, so the assistants were replaced as well?

Or perhaps Shen Jin was always kind to those around him, and Assistant Zong received the same treatment when he was with him.

Thinking about it this way, President Shen may seem gloomy, but he's actually a nice person at heart.

*

Back in China, Assistant Zong had just finished a multinational video conference. He rubbed his aching temples, stood up to pour himself a cup of coffee, and suddenly sneezed loudly.

He touched his nose and looked up at the central air conditioning vents: "...Is the temperature set too low?"

After sitting down, I casually opened my email and saw that Shen Jin's assistant had sent me a new bedding purchase list. I let out a long sigh.

Overtime pay may be high, but if the boss is dating, he's the one who suffers.

*

The hairdryer stopped running, and Lin Zhiyao neatly untangled the power cord: "All done."

Shen Jin opened his eyes and turned his head to look at her.

The softness that had just appeared in the fox's eyes from the heat hadn't faded yet: "Let's go, let's have breakfast."

He had only taken two steps.

Lin Zhiyao still subconsciously followed a few steps behind, like a subordinate.

Shen Jin stopped in his tracks.

He turned to the side, looked back at her, and slightly raised his arm. "Yaoyao, take my arm."

Lin Zhiyao blushed and stepped forward to support him.

As the two passed the front desk, Shen Jin didn't stop, but turned his head and said to the receptionist, "I have some things in my room that need changing. My assistant will be here in a bit, so I can leave everything to him."

"Just dispose of the ones that have been replaced directly," Shen Jin said calmly.

The front desk staff nodded repeatedly, not daring to be negligent in the slightest.

Lin Zhiyao followed behind him, realizing what he wanted to change, her ears burning, but she said nothing.

She simply gripped Shen Jin's arm even tighter, pursed her lips, and buried her flushed face behind his arm, feeling a little embarrassed.

Outside the hotel porch, the morning light had fully illuminated the area, and the air carried the unique humid scent of a coastal city.

Shen Jin's pace wasn't fast, so she followed with ease.

Breakfast was eaten at a brunch spot tucked away on a street corner.

Shen Jin had obviously been here before, and the staff led them directly to a private room by the window on the second floor.

The view outside the window was beautiful; sunlight streamed in through the French windows, casting a warm glow on the dish of Eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce on the table.

After finishing breakfast, Shen Jin looked up at her and said, "Let's go for a walk."

It's called "browsing around," but it's really no different from a shopping spree.

As Shen Jin emerged from the handmade leather goods shop on the street, he was carrying three beautifully packaged paper bags.

Before Lin Zhiyao could say no, he had already swiped his card, signed the bill, and handed the bag to the assistant he had casually beckoned behind her.

Next up are clothing stores, jewelry counters, and perfume shops.

Shen Jin picked out items very quickly, his eyes scanning across the rows of shelves. Occasionally, he would stop, point to a particular item, and the shop assistant would immediately take it down, pack it up, and hand it to his assistant.

Throughout the process, she was almost never asked for her opinion, but every item she picked out was the right size and style for her. In no time, she was dressed up beautifully, like a delicate ragdoll cat.

Lin Zhiyao stood in front of a shop window, clutching the lambskin handbag she had just received. She looked down at the burgundy skirt Shen Jin had changed her into that morning, then at the pink diamond above her collarbone that shimmered slightly in the sunlight in the mirror…

She was thinking that she should keep all these things safe and return them intact after the breakup.

"What are you spacing out for?" Shen Jin's voice came from beside him.

Lin Zhiyao snapped out of her daze and looked up at him: "No...it's nothing."

Shen Jin didn't expose her, but simply reached out and tucked a stray strand of hair that had been ruffled by the wind behind her ear, his fingertips brushing against her earlobe with a slight coolness: "Are you tired?"

"It's alright," Lin Zhiyao shook her head, then added, "It's just that there's a bit too much stuff..."

"Not many." Shen Jin withdrew his hand and turned to walk towards the next store. "I still need a few more items. I'll take them back and book a room to store them."

Lin Zhiyao subconsciously wanted to say that he didn't need to buy so much, but Shen Jin clearly didn't need to be consulted, so she could only lift her feet and follow him, walking side by side with Shen Jin.

By the time Shen Jin had bought enough, it was completely dark.

She was well taken care of by Shen Jin all day, so although her time was fully scheduled, it wasn't the kind of hectic schedule that made her feel overwhelmed. Time passed by without her noticing, and before she knew it, it was evening.

Finally, Shen Jin helped her change into a light apricot-colored dress he had just bought. It was made of satin, with a well-tailored waist and a length that just went past her knees. She held a handmade lambskin bag in her hands, and the texture felt wonderful to her fingertips.

Lin Zhiyao got into the car.

Shen Jin held her close, his hand on her waist, gently caressing and kissing her.

The car stopped in front of a high-rise building, and the moment the doorman opened the door, the evening breeze carried in the warm glow of the streetlights.

Shen Jin got out of the car first, walked around to her side, and naturally reached out his hand.

Lin Zhiyao's lips were glossy and moist, her cheeks were slightly flushed, and her almond-shaped eyes were full of affection.

"Come down, Yao Yao."

Shen Jin's voice was deep and hoarse, with a hint of unfulfilled desire.

Lin Zhiyao landed with Shen Jin's outstretched hand, and looked up at the gold lettering embedded on the building's exterior wall. It was a Michelin-starred restaurant.

Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows, the entire city unfolds its night view, with countless lights scattered like golden spots, and distant landmarks glowing with cool white outlines in the night.

The candlelight flickered gently on the table, amidst silver cutlery and a bunch of white lisianthus in the center, creating an atmosphere of refined ambiguity.

They were the only people at that table on the entire top floor.

The area has been cleared.
