Practical Classroom: Kaoru Hanayama's Classroom of Merit

Chapter 58 Doctor: I want to call the police!

The medical room on the luxury cruise ship is much better than those in ordinary clinics on the street.

The young female doctor on duty, Iori, was sitting at her desk gazing at the sea, humming a recently popular song in high spirits.

(No matter how you look at it, this job is like winning the lottery!)

She muttered to herself as she picked up the cup filled with hot black tea.

The passengers are all outstanding elite high school students gathered from all over Japan.

There were no elderly or seriously ill patients, and the ship was state-of-the-art, so the swaying was barely noticeable.

Even if someone gets injured, it's at most a slip and a scrape from falling by the pool, or heatstroke from playing too wildly.

Looking out at the vast blue sky and sea, it almost gives you the illusion that you're enjoying a luxurious vacation while being paid.

Iori silently gave herself a victory sign, her thoughts already drifting to the high-end spa and the luxurious French dinner that evening.

With a light "beep," the automatic door slid open quietly.

"Here you are, here you are! What's wrong? Are you seasick?!"

Iori smiled a friendly, professional smile and turned her chair toward the entrance.

Then her thinking went literally short-circuited.

Standing outside the door was a huge man covered in blood, his face etched with countless horrific scars, radiating an overwhelming sense of oppression beyond reason.

"…………Why?"

In the man's arms, he was softly holding a silver-haired girl with pale lips.

The strong smell of blood and the scent of the sea instantly filled the air in the infirmary.

Behind him stood another girl, soaked in seawater, her eyes swollen and red.

(Killer?!?)

A deafening alarm sounded in Iori's mind.

(Wait a minute, what does this mean?! Why is there someone on this ship who looks like the final boss of a yakuza movie?! And he's covered in blood! Is the child in his arms still alive?! Or is he a corpse?!)

Iori's legs trembled uncontrollably, and her hand, hidden under the table, moved toward the doctor's call button.

(Wait! If it's about disposing of a body, wouldn't it be faster to just throw it into the sea?! Why did they specifically move it to the infirmary? Are they trying to get me to perform an illegal operation?! Like, the kind where they say, "Feed the doctor, take the bullet out"?! What should I do? If I press the call button, will they just break my neck?!)

Iori was completely lost in her thoughts, her face pale and frozen in place.

Hanayama gently placed Sakayanagi, whom he was holding, on the examination bed next to him.

Contrary to his rough appearance, the movement was surprisingly delicate and quiet.

"……doctor."

Sakayanagi lay on the hospital bed, calling out in a weak but clear voice.

"Looks like I've gone a little too far... I do carry my heart medication with me, but could you check me out?"

(She's really just a regular emergency room student!!)

Iori desperately resisted the urge to collapse to the ground, and hurriedly put on a doctor's expression.

"Yes, yes! Of course! You're the child with the heart condition report, right? Let me check your vital signs, just a moment!"

Just as Iori stood up to get the stethoscope and blood pressure monitor.

Huashan spoke in a deep voice.

"doctor."

"Ee! Yes, yes, I am!"

Turning around, Iori couldn't help but let out a distorted voice under Hanayama's oppressive aura.

Hanayama didn't do anything out of line; he simply gestured with his chin towards the shrine huddled by the door.

"Get this guy a cup of hot tea and a dry towel. He fell into the sea and got chilled."

"I'll make the tea right away! The towels on that rack over there will do!"

Iori hurriedly went to the water dispenser and handed the hot tea to Kamuro.

Kamuro took it with a slightly embarrassed expression and began to dry his soaking wet hair with a towel.

Iori then checked Sakayanagi's vital signs. Although his heart rate was slightly fast, his breathing was gradually returning to normal, and no signs of danger were observed.

"Looks like it's nothing serious. It's just overexertion, which put a temporary strain on your heart. But just in case, you should rest here for at least a few hours."

When Iori breathed a sigh of relief and informed him of the diagnosis, Hanayama nodded gently.

"Really? Then let her sleep a little longer."

Huashan said only these words before turning around and heading towards the exit of the infirmary.

He made no attempt to explain why his clothes were covered in blood.

"Wait a minute, Hanayama, you stop right there."

The one who called out to the retreating figure was Kamuro, who was clutching a towel tightly.

"Weren't you injured and bleeding just now?"

"This kind of abrasion can be healed with a little saliva."

"You idiot, your opponent is a shark! You should at least care about your own health, you moron."

Kamuro seemed speechless, muttering softly.

(Huh? A shark?)

Iori stopped moving.

(In the sea with sharks!? No way, this person survived being bitten by a shark!? Is that why he's covered in blood!?)

Upon hearing Kamuro's words, Hanayama seemed to find it troublesome and raised his right arm to show her.

"This one?"

Iori cautiously peered at the arm, unsure whether it was from being scraped by the shark's file-like skin or from being rubbed by its teeth, but there were indeed large areas of abrasions on the forearm.

But those are scars of the past.

The wound has completely closed and a thin scab has begun to form.

For an ordinary person, the wound would have been painful for at least a few days to a week, but Huashan's wound healed on its own in just a few tens of minutes.

(What kind of regenerative ability is this!? Is this person really not some kind of mutant from the movies!?)

Iori could only open and close her mouth like a goldfish, unable to make a sound.

"The bleeding has already stopped."

Huashan lowered his arm and snorted as if it were no big deal.

"It's more important to take a shower now. Otherwise, I won't even be able to smoke a cigarette properly."

Huashan pointed to his shirt, which was now a complete mess.

"I'm leaving now. I'm leaving the little girl's matter to you, doctor."

With those words, Huashan walked through the automatic door, leaving behind only the fishy smell of the sea breeze, and left the infirmary.

"What's this, that guy?"

Kamuro sighed softly and gripped the warm teacup in his hand even tighter.

Beside her, Sakayanagi, lying on the hospital bed, also had his eyes closed and a small smile on his face.

Only Iori, completely clueless about the situation, remained standing there dumbfounded.
