Douluo Amon: I am the Heavenly Venerable of the Dragon King.

Chapter 217 Cthulhu, the Evil God of the Deep Sea

The life energy contained within the small ball was also the key to August's advancement to a 100,000-year-old soul beast in just three years.

"I absorbed a third of the life energy here. As for Leviathan, who knows where it has drifted off to now."

Nan Fusheng nodded. He didn't mind that August had absorbed one-third of the energy, since they were all his clones, and August did indeed need to be strengthened.

The life energy purified by the Time Worms is extremely pure and easily absorbed. August's race, the Tyrannosaurus Octopus, is also a race highly adept at absorbing energy.

There are only a few ways for a soul beast to advance: First, by cultivating on its own.

Second, they cultivate by hunting down soul beasts and then devouring their flesh and blood. Ten thousand years ago, ferocious beasts like Di Tian used a similar method to absorb the soul power of the Heavenly Dream Ice Silkworm for cultivation.

Third, one can improve their cultivation by consuming rare and precious natural treasures.

The vast majority of soul beasts cultivate using the second method, but this method requires time to hone their skills, since most soul beasts, except for those powerful races, do not absorb energy very quickly.

P.S.: (In the novel "Douluo Continent II: The Peerless Tang Sect", Huo Yuhao adopted two little Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bears and raised them into thousand-year-old soul beasts in just a few years.)

August was able to rapidly advance to a 100,000-year-old soul beast by hunting, devouring, and absorbing the life energy purified by the Time Worm.

However, the opportunity that allowed it to evolve into this human-like form was when it unexpectedly encountered several mermaids during its transformation from a 90,000-year-old soul beast to a 100,000-year-old soul beast.

That's right, it's a mermaid!

Logically speaking, mermaids, as spirit beasts, should inhabit the inland sea near the far north.

But August did indeed encounter several mermaids deep within the Tianhai Sea. To be fair, the mermaid race was indeed filled with handsome men and beautiful women.

Therefore, when August devoured them, he showed no mercy and also used the Time Worm's power to find out why these mermaids had appeared in the depths of the Heavenly Sea.

Hundreds of years ago, a powerful and evil spirit beast stormed into the center of the far north inland sea and wreaked havoc. It devoured many sea spirit beasts, thus angering the then-chief of the mermaid clan, a super spirit beast with a cultivation level of nearly 700,000 years: the Sea Princess.

Then a great battle broke out. The details are unknown, but the final result was that the Sea Princess was killed and devoured by that soul beast.

The mermaid race suffered heavy losses as a result. The soul beast seemed to harbor an extraordinary hatred for the mermaid race who worshipped the sea god, and it directly killed or killed many of the mermaids.

These mermaids deep in the Tianhai Sea were among the few who escaped at the time. Their cultivation levels were roughly around ten thousand years. However, because mermaids possess spiritual attributes and are considered humanoid soul beasts, they are highly intelligent.

Even though August encountered these mermaids, whose cultivation was only ten thousand years, their intelligence was by no means inferior to that of humans.

Upon learning this information, Nan Fusheng immediately thought of the Demon Emperor. After all, there were only a handful of soul beasts on the entire Douluo Star that possessed the strength to kill the Sea Princess.

However, these are all things to be discussed later. For Nan Fusheng, the most important thing is that after August devoured those mermaids, his original octopus body began to subtly change.

After advancing to become a 100,000-year-old soul beast, it completely transformed into this neither-human-nor-fish appearance. It looked exactly like the 'Cthulhu the Sea God,' only missing a pair of wings on its back.

His own clone had truly suffered many misfortunes. Although Chimera Soul Beasts were hybrid creations, and it was normal for them to grow crooked, this was going too far. Of course, in exchange for losing his good looks, he gained absolute power.

Although August's cultivation level is only a little over 100,000 years, the power he can unleash in the ocean is by no means inferior to that of a level 97 Title Douluo.

If you really want to run away, unless a Limit Douluo who is good at controlling water elements, or someone like Yun Ming or Di Tian makes a move, running away shouldn't be a problem.

"Well, while it's not quite good for combat, it's a pretty good helper for hunting soul beasts in the ocean and obtaining life energy." This is Nan Fusheng's definition of August.

It's a good helper to help him obtain life energy. After all, it's impossible for him to control clones and attack the soul-guided trains all day long, right? And in the ocean, so many soul beasts die every day, so it doesn't matter if August kills a few more.

During this process, August also witnessed evil spirit masters hunting spirit beasts on the ocean. However, he did not intervene, but merely watched from afar in the deep sea.

After receiving the small ball, Nan Fusheng used the door to seal it into his body. This was pure natural energy that he would use to increase his cultivation speed later.

Then, turning his gaze to the few soul bones, he waved his hand, and several Time Worms clung to them. Visibly, the radiance on the soul bones grew dimmer and dimmer until it disappeared.

Finally, it seemed to weather away, turning into dust, which vanished with a gust of wind.

However, Nan Fusheng felt no regret whatsoever; after all, they were just a few pieces of ten-thousand-year-old soul bones.

To others, these items might be priceless, but to someone like him who couldn't absorb soul bones, they were nothing but a pile of useless junk. It would be better to convert them into energy for him to absorb.

That's right, Nan Fusheng is unable to absorb soul bones. This is something Nan Fusheng has discovered through experiments over the past three years. Otherwise, do you think he would have given away his external soul bone, the Dark Gold Terror Claw?

After gaining control of the Invincible Age and possessing the abundant resources of the Spirit Pagoda in Tianhai City, Nan Fusheng also learned that a 90,000-year-old left leg bone was stored there.

Although the year was a bit different, Nan Fusheng at the time thought he could make do with it, since it wasn't like he couldn't change it.

However, when his main body absorbed that soul bone, he found that no matter what, it was difficult to establish a connection with it. In the end, he only succeeded in absorbing it by relying on the authority of "error".

However, the result was disappointing. When he tried to absorb the soul bone, his body automatically rejected it. Even if he successfully absorbed it, his body was simply drawing energy from the soul bone.

When Nan Fusheng cancels the "wrong" power, the soul bone is automatically expelled, and a large portion of its energy is absorbed, causing the soul bone's quality to decline.

Although initially puzzled, Nan Fusheng quickly understood the reason. His body had begun to follow the path of a divine being, which was why it started to reject those foreign objects.

As a mythical creature, his body has a natural aversion to this impure substance, which prevents him from absorbing the soul bone.

Fortunately, Shenwei and Lufa can absorb it, since good skills can sometimes appear in soul bones.
