Douluo Amon: I am the Heavenly Venerable of the Dragon King.

Chapter 38 The Establishment of Class Zero in the First Grade

After having breakfast, the students arrived at their classrooms. They were then notified that each first-grade class would be holding a grade-level meeting on the playground.

Although Xie Xie's arm was injured, his condition had stabilized, and he still had to attend classes.

Wu Changkong remained stern-faced as he led the students of Class 5, Grade 1 directly to the playground for assembly.

The current Class 5 of Grade 1 is quite different from what it used to be. When they came to the playground, the eyes of the other Grade 1 classes all turned to them.

The main focus was on Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Gu Yue. As for Nan Fusheng, he received some attention, but not much, since he was just a minor supporting character in the previous battle.

Soon, all five first-grade classes had arrived. Nan Fusheng noticed that Zhang Yangzi was not among the students in Class 1 of the first grade. A broken leg would obviously cause more trouble. Wang Jinxi, like Xie Xie, had bandages on his hands.

At the very front of the procession, not only did the Dean of Students, Long Hengxu, arrive, but the Dean, Yu Zhen, also came in person.

After gesturing to Dean Yu Zhen, Long Hengxu announced loudly, "Today, we have convened this temporary first-year meeting mainly to announce two things."

First, due to the special circumstances of this year's first grade, the winning first grade class will not continue to participate in the subsequent promotion competition. The first grade rankings will be adjusted according to the promotion competition rules. That is, the original first grade class 5 will be moved to first grade class 1, and the other four classes will follow suit.

They're not allowed to continue participating in the promotion tournament? The students in Class 1 of Grade 1 couldn't help but stir. Not being allowed to continue participating in the promotion tournament meant that the rewards they gained from challenging those who were above their level would no longer exist!

Long Hengxu continued, "In view of the outstanding performance of Class 1 of the new first grade in this year's promotion competition, all students in the class will be rewarded with a Class A meal every day for the rest of the semester."

Upon hearing this, the commotion instantly turned into cheers. What was the concept of a Class A meal? It was incredibly nourishing! Putting aside the taste, it would greatly benefit their cultivation. Most families couldn't afford Class A meals, so providing free meals for the entire class for a semester was an absolute grand gesture.

Ye Yingluo, who had become the homeroom teacher of Class 2 in the first grade, looked even more gloomy. She was clearly not in a good mood.

Long Hengxu shouted, "Quiet!"

The cheers gradually subsided.

Long Hengxu continued, "Due to the outstanding performance of this year's first-year students, the academy's board of directors has decided, after careful consideration, to establish a pilot class for the first-year students and select the most outstanding students to join."

The class is tentatively named Class 0 of Grade 1, with Teacher Wu Changkong as the homeroom teacher. Students in Class 0 will be selected from existing classes, currently totaling seven. Class 1 of Grade 1 consists of Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, Gu Yue, and Nan Fusheng. Class 2 of Grade 1 consists of Zhang Yangzi, Wang Jinxi, and Wei Xiaofeng.

In the future, if any students in this grade demonstrate similar outstanding performance, they may also be added to Class Zero.

First grade, class zero?

What the hell is this?

The students present were all stunned. In the history of Donghai Academy, there had never been a Class Zero before! And with Teacher Wu Changkong as the class teacher, what did that mean?

Tang Wulin and his three companions were surprised (Nan Fusheng was pretending), and Wang Jinxi and Wei Xiaofeng on the other side were equally surprised. Their eyes turned towards Tang Wulin and his companions at the same time.

Wei Xiaofeng's eyes were filled with hatred and loathing, while Wang Jinxi's gaze was fixed solely on Tang Wulin. His expression was complex.

Wu Changkong remained expressionless. In fact, he had been notified immediately after the academy's board of directors made its decision last night.

Actually, there were only six members in Class 0 of the first year, and Nan Fusheng wasn't originally included. After all, Nan Fusheng's performance throughout the battle wasn't particularly outstanding, and it would have been more convincing to include Wang Billy in Class 0 of the first year than Nan Fusheng.

It was Wu Changkong and Dean Yu Zhen who said that Nan Fusheng should also be included, because the four students in Class 5 of the first grade were already a unit, and they should either go in together or not.

Dean Yu Zhen was also deeply troubled by this, and asked Wu Changkong to give him a better reason, otherwise he wouldn't be able to convince the crowd.

Wu Changkong only replied with one sentence: "That child's soul skill is so powerful that even I can control it. His martial soul still has great potential for development."

Dean Yu Zhen was also speechless at Wu Changkong's words. How could he not know where Wu Changkong came from?

Since even Wu Changkong thought highly of Nan Fusheng, what else could he say? Besides, the newly established Class 0 of the first year would also require Wu Changkong's guidance, so he had no choice but to agree. In any case, it would just mean one more student.

Even Wu Changkong didn't expect to do this. Did he really have such high expectations for Nan Fusheng?

At this moment, even Wu Changkong didn't notice that within his sea of consciousness and on his martial soul, a total of three Time Worms were emitting a soft white light.

It emitted a kind of fluctuation that he himself could not perceive, slowly influencing his thoughts.

Long Hengxu said, "In addition to the two notices, there is also a penalty decision. In yesterday's promotion match..."

In the competition between Class 1 of Grade 1 and Class 2 of Grade 1, the students on both sides failed to uphold the principle of "friendship first, competition second," resulting in four students being seriously injured. The eight students who participated in the competition were given a serious reprimand.

Furthermore, all potential rewards for the eight participants were stripped away as a deterrent.

Stripping away the reward? It seems like there's no real reward for winning a promotion tournament within the same grade. It's just promotion!

Long Hengxu's words were quite stern, but they didn't seem to carry much of a real sense of punishment.

"Dean, would you like to say a few words?" Long Hengxu said in a low voice to Yu Zhen beside him.

Yu Zhen nodded and said loudly, "Classmates, I believe you are all very curious as to why we established Class Zero of the first year."

This is because the students around you who were selected have already far surpassed your level in terms of individual ability. If they were to continue to be nurtured at the same level, their talents would be buried.

This tells you that if you want to shine in the future, you must put in more effort.

I hope that more of you will join Class Zero in the near future and become the most outstanding talents in our Donghai Academy.

Alright, dismissed. Class teachers, please lead your students back to their classrooms. Director Long Hengxu will temporarily serve as the homeroom teacher for Class 1, Grade 1, until a new homeroom teacher is elected. Teacher Wu Changkong and a few students from Class 0, Grade 1, please stay behind.

Amidst surprise, envy, jealousy, and resentment, the five first-grade classes returned to their respective classrooms. Only the principal and a few teachers and students from the newly formed first-grade Class Zero remained on the playground.

"Children, come here." Yu Zhen waved to the crowd.
