Chapter 180: The Battle of New York

Chapter 180: The Battle of New York (Avengers: Endgame Edition)

At Mount Hua, Yue Buqun looked at the internal energy effects of version 3.0 and, after a moment of silence, chose to switch to this skill without hesitation.

Why bother with the trading system in version 3.0? Just switch to version 4.0 directly.

While Bai Ye was chatting with the group, three days passed quickly, and the voting results were released.

After various reports from different regions, a total of 20 billion people voted to awaken.

This massive number of people is a huge undertaking compared to the 2 Awakening Machines that were rushed to be built.

Now the whole world knows that a war with an alien civilization is about to begin in a few days. In order to have sufficient self-defense capabilities, all regions must awaken as many people as possible before that happens.

Soon, under arrangement, the first batch of awakened individuals were selected through a "fair and impartial" lottery.

The list of candidates is as follows:

Victor Doom, Kingpin, Stark, Peter Parker...

Yes, the lottery was indeed conducted fairly and justly according to the proper order of power and status.

Inside the White House in Washington, D.C., as the use of the awakening device ended, Stark's miniature reactor stopped supplying power, and the orange light inside disappeared once again.

Stark stepped out of the machine, gently twisted his neck, and felt that his body hadn't changed much.

"When is the best time to awaken your abilities?" Stark asked Reed, who was standing to the side.

"To allow the body time to adjust, it is expected to take 1 to 3 days," Reed said.

"Is that so? I hope it doesn't have any superpowers that make me ugly, otherwise I'll have to give up," Stark said hopefully.

Kingpin, who was standing to the side, couldn't wait any longer and said, "Hurry up and start it, is it my turn now?"

Rodriguez, standing to the side, also began to look forward to it.

Just as Kingpin was about to enter the machine, a staff member reported, "Mr. President, Mr. Ebony Maw reports that the teleportation device has been completed."

As soon as he finished speaking, the expressions on the faces of the group froze, and Kingpin also stopped entering the machine.

Rodriguez nodded slightly and said, "I understand, I'll be right there."

"What a pity. If it had been a day or two later, we could have seen two billion superhumans fighting against aliens," Stark sighed.

"How about we activate the portal a little later? After all, the initiative is on our side," Kingpin said.

"Forget it, it's better to resolve it sooner rather than later." Stark shook his head, opened the group chat, and tagged Bai Ye in it.

[Playboy]: @DeepBlue, Ebony Maw's teleportation device is set up. When are you coming over?

"Is it all done?" A calm voice sounded from behind Stark, startling him.

"Why have you been disappearing like a ghost lately?" Stark said. "New York has been completely cleared out. The teleportation device is on the roof of my company's new building, but why would you think that?"

Stark looked at White Night, not understanding why he would set the teleportation address in New York.

"Hmm... I guess you could say it's a remake of the storyline." Bai Ye said something seemingly out of the blue, leaving the others completely confused.

The next moment, as the world spun around them, everyone in the White House was surprised to find that they had instantly arrived in New York, and right in front of them was Ebony Maw's teleportation device.

Stark looked around in surprise at the drastically changed environment, wondering what level of strength Bai Ye had reached.

"If it's alright, let's begin," Bai Ye said to Ebony Throat.

The other party immediately nodded, then activated the device. The next moment, a blue beam of light shot into the sky, creating a pale blue spatial passage hundreds of meters long in the sky.

Meanwhile, New York City had long been emptied out, so the streets were deserted and incredibly quiet and desolate.

But a moment later, four men of different builds and appearances suddenly appeared on a street.

Stark took a deep breath and looked at the familiar New York streets in front of him. Everything was exactly the same as it had been ten years ago. Around him were the Hulk, Captain America, and Ant-Man.

"Wait...why is it so quiet? Is there something wrong with the time?" Ant-Man asked in surprise.

The other three who were lost in thought were all jolted awake by his words. The Hulk, now one with Banner, looked around. The streets were orderly, but quiet like a ghost town, with not a single person in sight.

"That's right, we have indeed returned to New York during the Chitauri invasion," Stark murmured, looking up to see a blue spatial portal prominently displayed.

In the passage, countless Chitauri filed out and flew downwards.

"Our past has been altered?" Captain America asked, puzzled.

"No, that's not it. I've already explained it very clearly before." The slightly aged Stark calmly shook his head and said, "What we call time travel is not going back to the past, but coming to a parallel universe with a similar environment to the past."

"For example, Thor and Black Widow, although they also travel through time like us, they arrive in a different parallel universe."

"It's possible that a new variable has appeared in this parallel universe, or perhaps our own universe is the anomaly. Either way is possible," Stark said seriously.

"What do we do now? Everything has changed." Ant-Man was somewhat anxious; the location of the Infinity Stones might have even changed.

"No need to rush, at least the location of the Space Stone hasn't changed." Stark shook his head and said, "On Friday, hack into the current network and compare the changes between the two timelines."

"Yes, sir." A calm voice came from beside them, and not long after, Friday gave the report.

"Sir, based on our comparison of historical events across the two timelines, this universe has never been the same as our original universe from the very beginning, and it contains multiple inhuman races such as mutants and vampires," Friday explained.

Surprise flashed in their eyes; they had never heard of any of these things before.

"But according to my investigation, although the history of the entire planet is different, the historical context is roughly the same. The difference can be traced back to the appearance of a man named Bai Ye three months ago."

"White Night?" The group murmured the name, and the next moment a projection appeared from Stark, showing all the major events of the past few months in visual form.

"I've been chosen by that White Night to be the president of the planet?" The middle-aged Stark couldn't remain calm, his face full of surprise.

The other three stared at the timeline before them, a timeline different from their own, filled with astonishing facts: the entire Earth was ruled by a single person.

"boom!"

Just as they were browsing through the movie version of the first 179 chapters of "Getting Infinitely Stronger Starting with Marvel" on Friday, a huge roar came from afar.

The group looked up at the sound and saw the Chitauri fleet in the sky suddenly struck by a heavy blow and instantly shattered into countless fragments.

"Who did that?" The group asked in surprise.

Friday calmly replied, "Sir, it is indeed White Night."
