100. Sealing Spirits and Imprisoning Souls
Early in the morning.
The little girl ran over to Lynn and told her about what happened last night.
"...They've been completely fooled! If Filch catches them, Professor McGonagall will definitely expel them!"
Lynn brought her a bowl of pumpkin juice so she could drink it and catch her breath.
"Ton ton ton..."
Hermione drank a lot of water in one go, which was also because she had been talking all morning and was really thirsty.
"Don't worry," Lynn reassured you. "Even if Filch had caught you, Professor McGonagall would have just given you a severe deduction of Gryffindor points; she wouldn't have expelled you."
"That won't do either!" Hermione exclaimed angrily.
"They really went too far!"
"I know, I know."
Lynn was like she was soothing a cat with its fur standing on end.
"Then we'll just ignore them from now on. There are plenty of Gryffindor students; it doesn't matter who we befriend."
Hermione muttered again.
"But they're too naughty. They're like little monkeys, always jumping around and causing Gryffindor to lose points. I don't want Slytherin to win the House Cup this year, even with me in Gryffindor."
Lynn shrugged.
"Then why did you tell me this? We're competitors now. Professor McGonagall and I have a pretty good relationship. Aren't you afraid I'll go and complain to Professor McGonagall?"
The little girl raised her head and said confidently.
"Of course you wouldn't! If Harry and the others were all like you, I wouldn't have to worry about these things every day."
Lynn ruffled her hair and then chased her away.
"I think she's acting a little strange towards you?" Cedric suddenly said.
Lynn looked at him: "Something's not right."
"Just like... just like how Moni did to Kurot back then," he said, scratching his head.
Lynn looked at him with half-closed eyes.
"What are you thinking? Our relationship is more like that of siblings next door. How come it's like Moni's relationship with Kurot?"
Monnie is the current Hufflepuff prefect. She had a crush on the current Ravenclaw prefect for two years, and finally mustered up the courage to confess her feelings this year and they got together.
Cedric didn't argue with Lynn.
So he was talking about unrequited love. How could someone as awkward as you, who rejected a senior's confession so bluntly, understand a little girl's unrequited love?
Lynn's first lesson today was Professor Quirrell's Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
This year's defense class was truly awful. The professor on the podium, who had already sided with Voldemort, acted like a clown. All he did in class was stammer and read from the textbook, and then keep explaining to everyone that the big scarf on his head was a gift from an African prince to thank him for helping him get rid of the vengeful zombies.
He was a joke, lacking any of the demeanor expected of a Ravenclaw elite graduate.
Fortunately, Lynn was prepared; he hadn't originally planned to learn anything in this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
So later on, he didn't even come up anymore.
He was very busy this semester and didn't have the time to waste with Quirrell in the classroom.
At that moment, Lynn was searching all over the castle for a ghost—Peeves.
"Have you seen Peeves, Mr. Knight?"
He was asking about the murals on the castle walls. The figures in these murals could move freely between any frame in Hogwarts; they were the most knowledgeable people in Hogwarts and also the eyes and ears of Headmaster Dumbledore.
The knight in the painting heard Lynn's question and seemed very angry; he brandished his lance.
"I don't know! How could I care where that scoundrel is! Yesterday he tried to draw a turtle on my armor with an ink brush! Luckily, Blood Man Barrow passed by and scared him away, otherwise a valiant knight would have been dishonored!"
Lynn had no choice but to ask the other murals one by one.
In the end, it was an old witch with a hooked nose who told Lynn where Pippi the Ghost was.
"It's in the hallway near the kitchen entrance. It stole a basket of rotten eggs from the house-elves, intending to use them to attack the students when they get out of class. If you're going to look for it, you'd better be prepared to change your clothes, because it's really wicked."
"Thank you for reminding me, Mother-in-law."
After Lynn obtained Peeves' location, he rushed to the corridor at the kitchen entrance.
Sure enough, Peeves was hiding behind the corner, carrying a basket of rotten eggs, ready to ambush the Hufflepuff wizards who would be heading back to their lounge after class.
It spotted Lynn first and immediately threw a rotten egg at him with great excitement.
"Look what I've found! A truant Slytherin wizard! Are you skipping class to taste rotten eggs?"
Lynn tilted his head slightly to dodge the rotten egg. With a smile, he slowly drew his wand, not forgetting to greet Peeves.
"Hello there, you mischievous devil."
Peeves wasn't afraid at all when he pulled out his wand; he even made a face at Lynn. It was a ghost, and the little wizard's magic couldn't harm it.
Just as Peeves reached for the next rotten egg, Lynn raised his wand.
Goodbye, Mischievous Ghost.
"Sealing the spirit and imprisoning the soul."
……
Harry and Ron overslept today.
Last night they outwitted Filch in the castle and were terrified by the three-headed dog on the fourth floor, so they slept until ten o'clock this morning.
Breakfast time had long passed, so they prepared to go to the kitchen to find something to eat.
"Seriously, Hermione is really annoying. She cares too much about school rules and grades, and she loves to nag. She's not our mother, yet she tries to control us all the time. No wonder nobody wants to play with her."
Ron grumbled as he yawned.
Harry thought for a moment, then said.
"It's not that no one wants to listen to her rambling. I ran into her with a young wizard from Hogwarts when I was in Diagon Alley, and they seemed to have a very good relationship."
Ron stared wide-eyed, his face filled with disbelief.
"He's quite the warrior! Who is he? From our academy?"
Harry shook his head.
"No, I remember he said he was a Slytherin student, a second-year student, and his name was something like Lynn Belloc. According to Hagrid, he was the best young wizard in his year."
Ron, however, didn't take it seriously.
"So what if they're the best? All the little wizards in Slytherin are bad guys like Malfoy."
As they were talking, they suddenly heard a noise coming from around the corner of the corridor.
They peered over the corner and saw Peeves throwing rotten eggs at a little wizard.
"Hey! That's him, he's the Lynn I was talking about." Harry recognized the young wizard.
Ron, on the other hand, looked on with anticipation.
"Let's see how Peeves will mess with this best little wizard in his class."
However, what happened next left them stunned.
"Sealing the spirit and imprisoning the soul."
The scoundrel from Slytherin raised his wand and cast a spell on Peeves that they had never seen before.
Mischievous Ghost was instantly turned into a ball!
The little wizard named Lynn picked up the ball and, like kneading clay, shaped the ball-sized Pippi into a small ball the size of a billiard ball.
The little devil screamed weakly as he was stuffed into a small glass bottle!
