After talking with Professor Fox and agreeing to be contacted by owl, Lynn was kicked out of the ward.
Dumbledore then went inside and spoke with Professor Fawkes about something.
Lynn stayed outside the ward to tease Phoenix Fox, who was also left outside, but it didn't seem interested in Lynn and ignored him.
Before Lynn could wait long, Dumbledore came out of the ward, waved for Fawkes the Phoenix, called Lynn over, and led him away from St. Mungo's Hospital.
After returning to Hogwarts, Lynn's school life returned to normal.
Every morning he would get up and practice spells with Cedric Ian and the others by the Black Lake. During the day he would attend classes and spend his spare time studying the various dark magic books that Professor Fox had left in his office and given to him after he left.
Occasionally, he would also visit the Room of Requirement to experiment with dark magic that was inconvenient to practice in public.
My days are so fulfilling, it makes me want to go back to my high school days in my previous life.
Time flies, and the end of the semester is just around the corner.
lunch.
Looking at the scoreboards of the various colleges in the auditorium, Cedric couldn't help but complain about the one with significantly more green than the other three.
"How exactly did you guys rack up your scores? Why are Slytherins' scores so much higher than ours?"
He was also a diligent student who tried to earn points for Hufflepuff in every class, but the gap between him and Slytherin's scores not only failed to narrow but actually widened.
Lynn kept his head down, cutting sausages without pretending to be mute, while Ian glanced at him sideways. He and Lynn were in the same grade, and sometimes the two houses would take Potions class together, so he naturally knew why this situation occurred.
"Of course, it's because Slytherin has a good student and a good headmaster." He emphasized the word "good" and said expressionlessly.
Lynn defended herself without changing her expression.
"How can points earned through skill be called 'farming'? If you're so capable, why don't you also earn points for your own academy in Herbalism and Charms?"
Cedric and Ian remained silent. They wanted to as well, but unfortunately, Professor Sprout and Professor Flitwick weren't as inhuman as Snape.
Speaking of this, Lynn looked up at the ceiling of the auditorium with a worried expression.
"How can I get Professor Snape to praise me just once?"
Cedric and Ian exchanged a strange look, then Cedric looked Lynn up and down and shook his head.
"Something's wrong with you."
"What's wrong with that? What are you thinking? It's just my personal collecting habit; I want to collect all the praise and bonuses from all the professors at Hogwarts. What's wrong with that?"
Although Lynn's explanation was far-fetched, it wasn't entirely unacceptable, Cedric shook his head and sighed again.
"It's easy to get Professor Snape to give you extra points, but getting him to praise you is much harder than getting praise from Professor Dumbledore."
Getting Snape to praise someone is incredibly difficult. Lynn has been competing with him for a whole semester, and his Slytherin grades are almost double those of the second-best student, yet he has never seen Snape say a kind word to him.
"Let's not talk about this anymore." Lynn stopped worrying about Snape's attitude. It was just a few potion talent points anyway, so he could just give them up.
"The exams start tomorrow, how are your preparations going?"
All three of them usually had good grades, except for Ian, whose grades were slightly worse. However, Ian's grades were only worse compared to Lynn and Cedric. Even in Ravenclaw, where the learning atmosphere was the most intense, he was considered one of the best in his class.
Moreover, although Ian also liked to go to the library, most of the books he read were rather strange. He always liked to flip through some bizarre stories about the magical world and some unorthodox curses.
Looking at these things wasted a lot of his energy; otherwise, Ian's grades would have been even better.
When this was brought up, everyone's expressions relaxed, and Cedric raised an eyebrow.
"You know, I taught myself all the second-year spells as soon as school started, and I forced myself to learn Transfiguration. Professor Fawkes taught Defense Against the Dark Arts quite well, and I felt pretty good about it. Herbalism was taught by our headmaster himself. As long as Professor Snape doesn't make things difficult for me in the end, getting O's in all subjects shouldn't be a problem."
Ian nodded, indicating that he wasn't under any pressure.
"The knowledge taught at Hogwarts isn't too difficult; if you pay a little attention during regular classes, you shouldn't have any problems with the exams."
While they have it so easy, for other young wizards, final exams are the end of the semester.
That afternoon, the Weasley twins came to Lynn, asking him to borrow their Charms class notes from Cedric. They wanted to try cramming at the last minute to see if they could pass tomorrow's exam, so they wouldn't be disliked by the professor at school and get scolded by their parents when they got home.
"Final exams are the enemy of all students!" George said angrily.
Beside him, Fred nodded in agreement.
"If I ever become the headmaster of Hogwarts, I will definitely abolish final exams and prohibit any professor from assigning homework!"
Lynn rolled his eyes and handed them the notes he had borrowed from Cedric.
"If you become headmasters, then the British wizarding world will have no future."
Cedric is now studying the third-year Charms course and doesn't need to review his second-year notes at all. When Lynn asked to borrow them, he thought Lynn wanted to study ahead of time, so he generously offered to give them to him.
"Don't forget to return it to me when you're done reading it. I'll use this notebook to preview things when I'm at home during summer vacation," Lynn instructed them.
The twins patted their chests to assure him that they would return his notes intact after the spells exam the next day.
After saying goodbye to the twin brothers, Lynn returned to his dorm room. While having lunch, he also grabbed a steak, which he chopped up and put into Xiaomai's bowl after returning to his dorm room.
Having not tasted meat for months, Umaru's eyes widened at the sight of flesh, but she still retained a sliver of reason. She tilted her hamster head back, looking at the smiling Lynn with a bewildered expression.
"After eating bread and cookies for so long, no one can stand it anymore. It's okay, eat up."
Xiaomai was immediately moved to tears, but even though Lynn had already become suspicious, she still had to keep up the act.
She peeked out and pretended to be puzzled by the beef in the bowl, as if asking why it wasn't cookies today.
"You don't like it? Okay, I'll throw the meat away and replace it with cookies." Lynn made a gesture as if to take her small bowl.
Umaru wouldn't let him succeed. Like a hungry rat pouncing on its prey, she jumped into the bowl and, like a starving ghost, grabbed a piece of beef and started gnawing on it.
Savoring the delicious aroma of meat, Xiaomai felt both satisfied and a little scared.
Old Chira, where have you gone? If you don't come back soon, I'm going to... be bought off by Lynn...
Mmm, the meat smells so good!
One more chapter, and the first volume will be over. It's already reached 150,000 words without me even realizing it! Wow!
