83. The Dark Lord? Does he even deserve the title?
Lynn and Professor Fox were held at gunpoint, raising their hands in surrender.
Even at this point, Lynn didn't forget to complain.
"Didn't you say that wizards hate professors the most?"
Professor Fox shrugged.
"There are always unexpected things in life, and unfortunately, we've encountered one today."
"Stop talking nonsense." Rozier pointed the gun at the bench next to him.
"Sit still and don't try to do anything funny. Don't doubt whether I dare to shoot or not, because you can't afford the consequences."
Lynn and Professor Fox sat obediently on the bench, not daring to test Rozier's limits.
Meanwhile, a panel visible only to Lynn was rapidly updating in front of him.
Side quest complete!
You have regained your magic and gained a tremendous boost!
[Quest Rewards: Magic Power Index 3, Legendary Value 1]
On Lynn's attribute panel, the number representing the magic power index suddenly changed.
First it changed from 4 to 6, and then it changed from 6 to 9!
It's just a little short of reaching the maximum value of 10!
An indescribable sense of fulfillment rose within Lynn.
The sudden surge of magic gave him a sense of euphoria, as if Dumbledore were nothing more than a buzzing old bee in his presence, and Voldemort were nothing more than a powerless, furious, noseless monster.
Lynn felt not excited about his own thoughts, but rather frightened, and he quickly banished these illusions from his mind.
He is still young and has a bright future ahead of him; he doesn't want to die so soon.
Although the magic had returned to his body, Lynn dared not move rashly.
He had no idea what was happening; as soon as he entered the church, something that felt like a small cross suddenly appeared in his hand.
Then his magic returned, but Professor Fox and the nun with the shotgun next to him showed no reaction.
Clearly, he was the only one who had regained his magic.
He hadn't figured things out yet, and even if the magic returned, so what?
Was it that he chanted the spell faster or Rozier pulled the trigger faster?
Without a doubt, if he showed even the slightest sign that he could use magic, he would be riddled with holes the next second.
To get out of this situation, we need to wait for the right opportunity.
"Excuse me... ma'am, may I ask what grudge we have? Why are you arresting us?" Lynn hesitated for a moment before addressing Rozier, ultimately deciding not to call her "grandma" in the first place.
Rozier scoffed.
"What grudge do you have? Isn't it obvious? I am a saint, and you are Dumbledore's professors and students. Isn't that a huge grudge?"
"But so many years have passed, even the second Dark Lord has died, why are you still fixated on these things?"
Rozier chuckled coldly, as if he didn't mind chatting with Lynn for a while.
"The Second Dark Lord? He doesn't even deserve that title. How can someone who hides his name and doesn't want anyone to say it be compared to Lord Grindelwald? His so-called pure-blood supremacy can only be enforced by force. He's just a brainless, mentally unstable madman. The group he leads will never succeed. They will only use killing to suppress resistance. They have no ideals, no beliefs, no program. Has any leader or organization like this ever established a long-lasting regime in history?"
But we are different. Lord Grindelwald leads us to a shared ideal and vision: we don't want to languish like rats in Muggle society! We want all wizards to live openly and honestly in the sunlight! We don't discriminate against non-pure-blood wizards, vampires, or werewolves. We believe we can unite all forces that can be united, as long as everyone is working for the future of wizarding!
But what happened? All because of Dumbledore! This man who was once Lord Grindelwald's most trusted friend! He defeated him, he made Lord Grindelwald lose his fighting spirit, he left us leaderless, and countless saints were arrested by the European Ministry of Magic. If it weren't for the last protection left to us by Lord Grindelwald, we might have died in Azkaban long ago.
Tell me, why can't I dwell on these things? How heartless must I be to let go of this deep-seated hatred?
Rozier's words left Lynn speechless.
He didn't experience Grindelwald's era, so he can't really comment on it.
He also wouldn't believe Rozier's one-sided story, that the saints' actions were all for the good of the wizards, or that Grindelwald's ideals were truly so noble and selfless.
Besides, there's no point in discussing these things now. Grindelwald's era is long gone, and all that's left are these saints, who can't possibly cause any trouble.
"So what do you plan to do with us?" Lynn asked, blinking her eyes like an innocent little rabbit.
Rozier smiled slightly, but her demeanor combined with that smile was rather frightening.
"Of course, we'll dismember you all and then mail the dismembered bodies to Dumbledore."
Her voice was gloomy, sending chills down your spine.
But Lynn said it with a relaxed expression.
"The more you say that, the less likely you are to hurt us."
"Why?" Rozier stared at him.
"Because if someone like you really wanted to kill us, you would have shot us the moment you met us, you wouldn't have waited until now."
Rozier snorted coldly, without refuting Lynn's words.
The church fell silent. Rozier, gun pointed at them, waited in silence.
Not long after, the church doors were opened.
Leon, Smith, and a bewildered Simon walked into the church, cursing and swearing.
"We've searched the entire city but can't find those two bastards. They're really good at hiding!"
"I can only rely on Rozier. Let her scold me if she wants. I've been scolded by her for so many years anyway."
"My cow! Waaah..."
As they were talking, they suddenly realized that the two people they had been searching for were now sitting under Rozier's gun barrel.
Smith and Leon were both shocked!
They ran around outside, risking their lives, but gained nothing. Rozier, sitting in the church, simply caught both of them.
Simon didn't care about any of that. The moment he saw Lynn and Professor Fox, his eyes turned red, as if he had seen an enemy.
"You two thieves! Where are my cows? Where did you take them?!"
