Chapter 72 The Skill of the Soul Ring, White Tiger Vajra Transformation

Chapter 72 The Thousand-Year Soul Ring Technique, White Tiger Vajra Transformation (Part 5)

"Let's go take a look. [I hope readers will remember our domain name here]" Tang San led Xiao Wu toward the shop.

The shop door was open, and the interior appeared somewhat dim. As the two entered, a peculiar energy fluctuation immediately caught their attention. This energy fluctuation was similar to that of the Spirit Hall, but weaker. Thanks to Grandmaster's instruction, Tang San knew this was due to the presence of a soul tool.

Soul tools all contain soul power fluctuations. If they are not used and bound to someone's own soul power, the soul power will be released externally.

Soul tools are mostly not offensive and can only perform simple auxiliary functions. Even so, soul tools are extremely rare. All surviving soul tools can be considered antiques because their manufacturing methods have been lost.

There was only one person in the shop, and no counter. Some items were hanging on the three walls, all of which looked very old and not valuable at all.

The only person was sitting in a wooden recliner, his eyes closed, swaying with the chair.

He looked to be about fifty years old. Although he was not young, he was very strong. The sturdy-looking recliner creaked as it rocked under his weight.

This person has very distinctive features: a slightly protruding chin, wide cheekbones, a flat face, and a somewhat hooked nose. If one had to describe it with an analogy, one could only say that his face resembles a shoe sole. Although his eyes are closed, he has a somewhat cunning look.

He wore a pair of black-rimmed crystal glasses, the frames of which were rigidly square, giving him an odd look no matter how you looked at him.

Tang San and Xiao Wu's entry into the shop did not wake him; he continued to sway evenly in the recliner.

Xiao Wu looked around curiously. "Xiao San, are these all soul tools?"

Tang San shifted his gaze from the middle-aged man to the items hanging on the wall and said honestly, "I don't know either. Unless you test each one with your soul power, you can't tell just by looking."

As he spoke, he walked to the wall, his gaze falling on a crystal the size of a human head. His gaze froze for a moment.

The crystal looked unremarkable; it was transparent, but contained large patches of dark yellow impurities. It hung near the door. Yet, this very crystal caused Tang San's heart to race instantly, and his eyes to flash. He never expected to see such a crystal in such a shop, in such a location.

Xiao Wu naturally noticed Tang San's change. "San, why are you looking at this piece of junk crystal? It's probably hard to find a worse crystal out there. This crystal has no luster, poor transparency, and no color. Amethyst is the most precious. You're not planning to buy something like this, are you?"

To Xiao Wu's surprise, Tang San nodded affirmatively, "I want to buy this crystal, but I don't know how much it costs."

"Not expensive, one hundred gold soul coins." A lazy, slightly magnetic, husky voice rang out. Perhaps because the speaker had a slight lisp, his words were a little unclear. Fortunately, only Tang San and Xiao Wu were there, and the shop was very quiet, so they could clearly hear what he was saying.

Tang San didn't say anything, but Xiao Wu suddenly turned around and said, "This broken crystal costs a hundred gold soul coins. You might as well just rob it."

The middle-aged man in the recliner opened his eyes but did not leave his seat. "One hundred gold soul coins is the cheapest price I can offer. Pay up if you want, otherwise please leave."

After saying that, he closed his eyes again.

Xiao Wu was furious and was about to go forward to argue, but Tang San grabbed her, saying, "Fine, I'll buy it."

Over the past few years, Tang San has accumulated some savings. He spends very little money and saves most of his income. Especially after reaching the level of a Great Soul Master, the monthly subsidy he receives from the Spirit Hall has increased to ten gold soul coins. Now, Tang San, along with Xiao Wu's entire fortune, has more than seven hundred gold soul coins.

"Xiao San, are you alright?" Xiao Wu raised her hand and touched Tang San's forehead to make sure he didn't have a fever.

Tang San gave Xiao Wu a look, then gently shook his head. His right hand lightly brushed against the Twenty-Four Bridges Under the Moon at his waist, and a purse containing exactly one hundred gold soul coins appeared in his hand. He turned and handed it to the middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man didn't even open his eyes. "You don't have enough money."

Tang San said, "This is indeed one hundred gold soul coins."

The middle-aged man's indistinct voice said calmly, "But my crystal costs two hundred gold soul coins."

This time, Xiao Wu couldn't hold back any longer. "You're extorting me! You just said one hundred, and now it's two hundred. No wonder you have no business. Xiao San, we're not buying anymore, let's go."

Tang San shook his head at Xiao Wu, then looked at the middle-aged man and said, "Are you sure you don't want to change it anymore?"

That crystal might be useless to others, but to him, it was more important than rare and precious treasures. He would buy it for whatever price he had, not just two hundred gold soul coins, but even ten thousand.

The middle-aged man said lazily, "Alright, five hundred gold soul coins, no change. Pay up and take it, otherwise please leave."

From one hundred to two hundred, and then from two hundred to five hundred, even Tang San's patience was wearing thin this time. He put away his money pouch and said to Xiao Wu, "Let's go."

Xiao Wu glared fiercely at the middle-aged man. "We should have left long ago. Dealing with such a cunning person is an insult to our intelligence."
