Chapter 691 Inspiration from Beyond the World!

The existence of the Douluo plane is very special. The pantheon of gods within the Dragon God Domain can actually be called the Douluo pantheon.

In the vast world depicted by Lan Yuan, the Douluo Realm is the 'earth' within the Dragon God Domain, and the God Realm is the 'sky' of the Dragon God Domain. The advantage of the Douluo God System is that, at the Soul Master stage, the awakening of the Martial Soul determines the future upper limit, and at the God stage, the 'Godhood Awakening' determines the future upper limit. Although the upper limit is locked, the Douluo God System allows individuals to reach their own Godhood upper limit in a very short time. The speed of their cultivation improvement is so rapid that it feels less like they are leveling up themselves and more like the God Realm is automatically leveling them up for them.

The advantage of the Abyss God system is that it is almost never capped. The upper limit of the Abyss Gods is determined by the power of the plane; the more powerful the plane, the higher the upper limit of the Abyss Gods within it. However, the disadvantage is that the cultivation of Abyss Gods is very slow, and they often encounter bottlenecks, unlike the smooth cultivation of the Douluo Gods.

In addition to the Douluo God System and the Abyss God System, there exists a relatively obscure god system: the Dragon God System, which is also known as the Soul Beast System.

The advantages of the Soul Beast system are: endless lifespan + automatic growth of cultivation level with age, automatically raising the upper limit of the realm. The upper limit of the Soul Beast system is easier to raise than that of the Abyss God system! In terms of cultivation speed, the Soul Beast system may seem slower, but it emphasizes perseverance. At the God Beast stage, it is much faster than the Abyss God system, except for being inferior to the Douluo God system!

However, the downside is that the current soul beast system has three major hurdles: a 100,000-year lightning tribulation, a 700,000-year lightning tribulation, and finally, a million-year lightning tribulation that means saying goodbye to the world. The first two hurdles can be overcome using normal methods, but the third hurdle—the laws of the divine realm—almost explicitly states certain death.

"I once wondered if it was possible for a God-King in the God Realm to collude with a Soul Beast, thereby giving birth to a Level One Divine Beast that was close to the Dragon King. Theoretically, given enough time, a God-King might have such thoughts. But my intuition tells me that such a thing would never happen."

In other words, a soul beast with sufficiently powerful bloodline and abundant opportunities and blessings can reach the level of a dragon god in at least one hundred million years, even without doing anything.

However, as anyone who frequently raises spirit beasts knows, the cultivation speed of spirit beasts is often exaggerated.

For example, a spirit of heaven and earth with an incredibly powerful origin like the Snow Empress can increase her cultivation speed to ten times the 'standard speed'! In this respect, if Lan Yuan doesn't utilize his devouring talent, he will be far behind the Snow Empress.
