Chapter 71 First Encounter with the Masked Man

The thick fog that had been blown away gradually closed in again.

Instead of rushing in, Uchiha Hikaru used the Flying Technique to fly towards a large tree at the edge of the mist, intending to observe it further.

But the two Kaguya clansmen who had attacked her earlier quickly chased after her.

Thanks to the protective power of the Corpse Bone Pulse, and the fact that Uchiha Hikaru's Wind Release technique was merely a casual use, they suffered no serious injuries. During their charge, their skin repeatedly tore open, revealing countless fragments of bone, before they leaped upwards towards the tree trunk!

call--!

The wind is blowing!

Uchiha Hikaru tilted his head, gracefully dodging the bone blade that was swinging towards him.

next second.

With a "crack," the thick tree trunk was snapped in two by the Kaguya clan members!

The instant she lost her footing, Uchiha Hikaru used the Flying Technique to glide towards another large tree seven or eight meters away. But the third person in the arena had already stealthily moved there beforehand, gripping a long sword tightly in both hands. When she was only a few meters away, he leaped forward and slashed out with incredible ferocity!

call out--!

Amidst the sound of wind breaking, Uchiha Hikaru glanced back, her three-tomoe jade pendant flashing slightly, causing the man to lose his composure instantly, and the blade in his hand grazed past her by mere inches.

In the instant they passed each other, Uchiha Hikaru casually swung a hand chop, slamming the dangling assassin to the ground. He then flew a few meters forward, landing lightly on another tree trunk before turning back to look.

"...The Hozuki clan?"

Uchiha Hikaru glanced at his right hand.

When that chop landed, she felt something damp, even sticky, unlike what she would expect from a normal, fleshy body.

really……

As his gaze swept across the scene, he saw the third assassin transform into a puddle of water and crash onto the forest floor, dissipating the impact of his fall.

After that, he and two Kaguya clan members surrounded him from three directions and launched a fierce attack on Uchiha Hikaru!

"kill!"

It can only be said that there are objective reasons for the existence of the Blood Mist Village.

Putting aside Madara and Obito's schemes, a considerable number of these ninjas from the Hidden Mist Clan were indeed bloodthirsty psychopaths with mental instability. Compared to them, the Uchiha clan of Konoha could only be considered docile lambs.

The long blade flashed, and bone bullets flew in all directions.

Large trees were cut down in half, kicking up clouds of dust.

Faced with the dense killing intent, Uchiha Hikari didn't even raise her hand. With her feet moving nimbly, her body dodged all the attacks like a petite cat. Only when the attack became impenetrable did she casually throw out a capsule, and then, with her right hand outstretched, she held a black longsword in her palm.

—Oni-kiri, the divine sword!

Since acquiring this sword, Uchiha Hikaru has not yet tried to use it in battle.

just now……

Perfect, let's use them to test the knife!

The moment the hilt of the sword was in his hand, Uchiha Hikaru's aura suddenly changed. He stopped dodging and instead swung his sword at the same speed as, or even faster than, the three assassins!

"Flame Breathing - First Form... Shiranui!"

"The Third Form: All-Encompassing Qi and Flames!"

"Thunder Breathing - First Form: Thunderclap Flash!"

Although the idea of "Ten-Day Breathing Technique" was still in the exploratory stage, Hikaru Uchiha's swordsmanship skills had been greatly improved through exchanges and sparring with the Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.

At this moment, with the activation of the mutated "Chakira", her aura rose rapidly at a visible speed. The sword light, carrying flames and gales, enveloped her entire body, not only blocking all attacks from all directions, but also quickly turning the tide and beginning to suppress the three Hidden Mist Ninjas.

Within a few dozen seconds.

The bone swords held by the two Kaguya clan members had been broken several times, and one of them even had half of his arm severed by a single blow.

As for the Ghost Lantern Clan member, he didn't possess the powerful physical abilities of the Corpse Bone Pulse. He had already dodged fatal blows twice using water transformation and appeared slightly out of breath.

"...As expected, even the Mangekyou Sharingan cannot replicate this secret technique with Yin-Yang Release properties."

Hikaru Uchiha withdrew his gaze from the Hozuki clan members, feeling slightly disappointed.

That being the case...

"Magic Illusion: The Shackles Technique!"

With just one glance, the three Hidden Mist Village ninjas froze in place.

Just as Uchiha Hikaru was about to ignore them and go into the thick fog to take a look, a slight fluctuation of chakra suddenly emanated from the two Kaguya clan members.

"This is……"

"burst!"

next second!

A tremendous roar erupted!

The numerous explosive tags affixed to the clothes of the two assassins were all detonated. Instantly, intense flames spread wildly in all directions, engulfing the space within a radius of several dozen meters, including that of Uchiha Hikaru and the Hozuki clan member! A massive plume of smoke and dust shot into the sky!

Amidst a thick cloud of smoke.

The Hozuki clan member, who had used a water-based secret technique to offset most of the impact of the explosion but was still seriously injured, staggered and ran wildly.

Behind him, a dark red Susanoo burst forth, unleashing an unstoppable sword strike!

"Wind Breathing... 108 Strikes - Heavy Cannon Slash!!"

At that moment, the dark red greatsword, enveloped in layers of chakra and aura, cleaved out a massive semi-circle of sword energy vertically forward! With the support of "Wind Breathing," this sword energy swept dozens of meters away in one breath, carrying an unstoppable penetrating force that cleaved all the trees it touched in its path in two!

Even the thick fog that shrouded the vast forest was dispersed, creating a vacuum zone several meters wide and nearly a hundred meters long!

The Hozuki clan member was sent flying far away, his body severed in two mid-air.

As the thick fog and gaps in the trees gradually parted, Uchiha Hikaru's gaze sharpened, and he caught sight of a figure dressed in a black robe deep within the fog at the edge of his vision!

"really……"

It's Uchiha Obito!

In an instant, Uchiha Light unleashed his full speed, manipulating Susanoo to leap nearly a hundred meters. Before the mist could close, he swung a "Crimson Flame Slash" imbued with flames, aiming at the figure! A fiery hemisphere, even larger than the previous "Heavy Cannon Slash," spread out in the air!!

Because of the trees blocking their view, their eyes did not meet immediately.

Then, we see Obito Uchiha, wearing an orange vortex mask, first use his intangibility ability to dodge the Crimson Flame Slash, then immediately close his eyes, have White Zetsu seal the gap in the vortex mask at his right eye, and use Kamui to disappear spinning from the spot.

The last second.

A large windmill shape appeared in Uchiha Hikaru's right eye.

Amaterasu!

Driven by his eye power, a massive amount of black flame appeared out of thin air, enveloping Obito's body and drawing him into the Kamui dimension. Only a few embers remained, scattering and landing on the surrounding grass, quickly turning into a pitch-black sea of fire.

"...They run really fast."
