Chapter 218 Stealing the Going Merry

"You want their pirate ship?!"

Uchiha Touyu looked at Nami with a shocked expression, then glanced at the Going Merry, his expression almost breaking down.

Nami, the little thief, was a bit puzzled. Why was Uchiha Touyu reacting so strongly? Could it be because of the Marine hero Garp?

That makes sense... that naval hero is Luffy's grandfather after all, and since he stole Luffy's pirate ship, he might have some other ideas...

"Is it because of Mr. Garp? That makes sense. Although these people are indeed pirates, they haven't done anything truly evil. In fact, they've done quite a few good deeds, and they don't even have a bounty. It's all because of that old man..."

"Great, fantastic, I fully support this idea!"

Uchiha Touyu's contorted expression quickly transformed into excitement. He placed his hands on Nami's shoulders, a thrilling smile spreading across his face.

"It's up to you, Nami! We'll get them drunk first, then just sail away!"

Although the Going Merry was much larger than a small sailboat, it was still considered a small vessel, and two people could operate it.

Of course, what Uchiha Tou really wanted to know was, after Nami stole the Straw Hat Pirates' ship, in what direction would the story of this world take? It felt so interesting!

Oh... you mean in the original story Nami stole the Straw Hat Pirates' ship? Then it's alright.

Although Nami is just a young girl, after spending so many years on the high seas, her alcohol tolerance is quite impressive. Getting pirates drunk and then stealing their treasure is a common method this little thief uses.

Sanji is a complete simp; Nami only needs to smile a couple of times for him to lose his bearings, and getting him drunk would be a piece of cake.

Luffy doesn't need much explanation. Even if you put sleeping pills in the meat right in front of him and say it's seasoning, he'll still say the taste is a bit strange while eating it all up.

Usopp is smart enough, but too timid and loves to brag. If you can stop him while he's bragging, it's easy to get him drunk.

The only difficulty is that Zoro, who is quite vigilant, is currently seriously injured and went to rest and sleep immediately after eating.

Zeff's cooks aren't part of the Straw Hat Pirates, and even Sanji is only somewhat interested and not yet a member of the Straw Hat Pirates, so naturally no one would help the Straw Hat crew watch the ship.

So after a banquet, Uchiha Tou and Nami, carrying two human-shaped bounties, infiltrated the Going Merry and sailed away.

Anyway, there wasn't much else on the small sailboat. Uchiha Tou took the supplies and his change of clothes, Nami took some oranges and orange saplings, and then left the small sailboat there.

An hour or two later, a chef at a floating restaurant accidentally discovered that the Going Merry had been sailed away, leaving only a small sailboat behind. He quickly ran to wake up the Straw Hat Pirates.

"What?! The Going Merry has been sailed away!!"

Upon hearing the news, the Straw Hat Boy jumped three feet high in fright. Before he could even run over, his head had already smashed through the window and reached the side of the boat.

Sure enough, the Going Merry next to the floating restaurant had vanished without a trace, leaving only a pitiful little sailboat drifting in the sea, as if mocking him.

"Damn it... my ship!!!"

"Usopp, Zoro, get up quickly! Our ship has been stolen!!"

"What!?"

Zoro regained consciousness immediately, but as soon as he got up, he felt a sharp pain in his chest and had no choice but to lie back down.

There was no way around it; this guy had just been slashed by Hawkeye. Even though the world's greatest swordsman showed mercy, Zoro's injury was still quite severe. If it were a normal person, even someone from the pirate world, they would have to lie down for four or five days.

Zoro's physical abilities are far superior to those of ordinary people, and his recovery ability is also extremely strong. If he could rest for a night, he could basically recover most of his injuries. However, Zoro has only had two or three hours for meals and rest, so his wounds have not yet healed.

"The Going Merry!! Damn it, those damned thieves, those two guys, I knew they weren't good people, they even stole a pirate ship!! That's outrageous!!"

Usopp rushed out immediately upon receiving the news, only to find the ship's original location now empty, and his eyes immediately turned red with anger.

Because the Going Merry was a gift from Kaya, Usopp's childhood friend, the ship is extremely important to him. He is probably the person in the entire pirate crew who cares about the ship the most.

"Luffy, we can't let these ship thieves get away with this! Let's go and get the Going Merry back!"

Usopp, who has always been described as timid, this time grabbed Luffy's protruding head and shook it wildly:

"No matter what, we can't let those petty thieves take the Going Merry. Let's get going, Captain!"

Luffy's head was being shaken back and forth, and he shouted loudly:

"Wait, wait, wait a minute, Zoro hasn't fully recovered yet..."

"It's alright, Luffy."

Leaning on his famous sword as a cane, Zoro slowly walked out of the cabin:

"Let's set off together! I can recover on the road."

"Uh, alright then! Sanji, do you want to board the ship and come with me? Our pirate crew happens to be short a cook!"

As if struck by a thought, Luffy turned to look at Sanji and asked with a grin. Sanji sighed and stubbed out his cigarette.

"Idiot, still want to board your ship? Your ship has already been taken away. I've never seen such a down-on-his-luck pirate crew, and such a stupid pirate captain."

"I can't help it if you're all so stupid, how can I just leave you bunch of idiots alone!"

After saying that, Sanji flicked the cigarette butt away, turned and walked into the restaurant, speaking calmly:

"Wait a minute, I'll grab some supplies from the restaurant. To catch up with them, I need to make sure I don't go hungry first!"

As Sanji entered the restaurant, he immediately saw Zeff standing opposite him. A slight hesitation crossed his face before he spoke to the man he saw as a father figure:

"Old man, I'm going to do something for Luffy and the others, I'll be back later..."

"No need to come back!"

Zeff shook his head, looking at Sanji with a somewhat wistful expression, as if he could see the future:

"You're old enough, it's time to venture out to sea! Let's set sail with that Straw Hat kid, he may not look very smart, but he's definitely a very good captain."

"Old man, what are you talking about? I don't want to leave the seaside restaurant..."

"Are you content with this? The sea restaurant is just a place for me to retire. Even when I was young, I would never have thought of spending my whole life in a sea restaurant."

"I know you've always felt guilty about my broken leg because of what happened back then, but it was my own choice. And since I've already given my leg for your life, then take my dream and set sail on the high seas with me!"

Sanji paused for a moment, then reached up and wiped his eyes.

"Old man, why are you suddenly getting so sentimental? I'm just... just going out to sea... even if I leave with that straw hat kid, it'll only be for a few years at most."

"Alright, a real man shouldn't hesitate once he's made a decision."

Zeff waved his hand, seemingly a little impatiently, turned around, and slightly raised his head:

"Get along well with your new friends and go pursue your dreams!"

When Sanji and a group of cooks came out with bags of food, Usopp had already fixed up the entire small boat, which was the very boat that Uchiha Tou and the others had left behind.

After placing all the food on the small boat, Sanji turned his head and glanced at the floating restaurant. He seemed to see the figure of an old man in the lights of the second-floor cabin.

"Let's go, let's set off!!"

With a shout from Luffy, the small boat's sails billowed, and it sailed away into the distance. But then, Usopp, who was piloting the boat, seemed to remember something, turned his head, and glared at Luffy.

"Luffy...where should we go?"

"Of course, we're going to retrieve the Going Merry!"

"But...where did the Going Merry go?"

"Uh... this..."

For a moment, the two stared at each other in disbelief. Then, as if realizing what had happened, Luffy's face showed an expression of extreme terror.

"No...no...I don't know...I don't know either!! What do we do? What do we do?! The Going Merry is going to be stolen!!!"

Sanji: "..."

Is it too late to go back and apologize to my father and say that I want to be a chef?

"Stop arguing, you bunch of idiots!"

Zoro, who was resting on the small sailboat, perhaps unable to bear Luffy and Usopp's silly antics any longer, pushed open the door, came out, and threw out a note:

"It says here that they went to Loguetown! If we want to find our ship, we all need to go to Loguetown together!"

"Huh!? Oh, I see!"

Luffy patted his chest, a relieved expression on his face:

"I didn't expect them to leave us a note; they're actually quite nice!"

"Idiot, they're the ones who stole our pirate ship!"

Usopp, enraged, grabbed Luffy by the neck and shouted:

"And don't trust the enemy so easily! They might have some kind of conspiracy!"

"Even if there's some conspiracy, we have to go! No matter what, we have to find the Going Merry."

Zoro crossed his arms and spoke coldly, his eyes filled with fighting spirit:

"I'll steer the boat and lead everyone to Loguetown to meet this ship thief!"

"Get away from the helm!" ×2

In an instant, Luffy and Usopp stopped arguing and directly pinned down Zoro, who was trying to take the helm, thus preventing them from getting lost all the way to Laugh Tale.

Having set their sights on a destination, the Straw Hat Pirates didn't hesitate and set sail in their small sailboat, following the direction of Loguetown on the sea chart.

In Loguetown, Uchiha Tou and Nami, piloting the Going Merry, docked at the port.

The pirate flag on the Going Merry has been taken down by Uchiha Tou. That thing was just a source of ridicule and would attract a lot of attention from the Marines.

Although Uchiha Tou didn't care much about the East Blue Navy, he obviously didn't want to cause any trouble. Most importantly, he wasn't a pirate yet; he was just planning to set up an adventure crew for fun.

As the gateway island from the East Blue to the Grand Line, and the execution site of the former Pirate King Roger, Loguetown is extremely important both in practical and symbolic terms, and naturally, the Navy would guard such a place.

The naval base commander guarding Loguetown is named Smoker, a Logia-type Smoke-Smoke Fruit user, with the rank of Colonel, and is probably the strongest naval officer in the entire East Blue.

In the original work, Smoker once chased the Straw Hat crew so hard that they had nowhere to run and almost captured Luffy. If it weren't for Luffy's father coming to his rescue, Luffy would probably be spending his time in a pirate prison.

However, the Smoke-Smoke Fruit is almost the least effective among Logia-type Devil Fruits. Back when Haki didn't exist in the world of One Piece, it was naturally invincible.

Unfortunately, with later updates, Smoker quickly became a relic of the past—even the Flame-Flame Fruit was no longer eaten by dogs, and his Smoke-Smoke Fruit was even weaker, which many people probably couldn't even compare to a Zoan-type Devil Fruit.

Now that Uchiha Touyu has mastered the Haki power after the version update, with his current strength, he is not afraid of Smoker, a Logia-type user who doesn't have much offensive power.

"Let's go, Nami, let's go check out Loguetown."

Looking around the dock, Uchiha Touyu spotted quite a few pirate ships and couldn't help but mutter to himself:

As the entrance to the Grand Line, Loguetown is where all these pirate ships dock directly, brazenly and without any attempt at concealment.

In the original story, the residents of Loguetown also said that after Smoker arrived, he vigorously cracked down on pirates, and there were far fewer pirates than before. Even the sword shop owner said that his business plummeted after Smoker came...

So, just how chaotic was Loguetown originally? Was it a pirate island? And this is the most peaceful East Blue; one can only imagine how chaotic the other seas must be.

"Alright...hehe, let's take these two captured pirates to the naval base first!"

Nami chuckled twice and pulled Agin and Kriku out. Their injuries had only been treated hastily, and they had only been given some alcohol and no food for the past two days, so the two of them were not very strong and could not resist.

Nami may look like a petite, slender, ordinary girl, but she is actually quite strong. It's just that the entire Straw Hat crew are superhuman, which is why she appears to be a delicate little girl.

With Nami's strength, carrying these two prisoners was not difficult.
