Full-Time Magician: Demon Mage

Chapter 227 Lightning Arc Field

Chapter 227 Lightning Arc Field

As a demon, the night does not affect his actions; rather, the night is the demon's domain.

After crossing the area depicted in the geoglyphs and stepping onto the other side of the mountains, the scenery becomes completely different.

The mountain range is full of ridges, and hordes of demons roam around it. There are almost no traces of humans here, and it retains its ancient appearance.

Moonlight spills down, and the moisture rising from the earth, carried by the valley wind, gradually condenses into mist, spreading across the mountainside.

Even at the mountain peaks, one can see years of accumulated snow. Cold air masses from high altitudes are blocked year after year, sinking down and merging with the earth's energy to condense into dense water droplets.

Numerous water droplets converged at the lowest point of the valley, forming a stream. On both sides of the stream, various kinds of demons lurked.

As a Void Demon, distance was never an obstacle. Wang Teng simply followed the path and traversed hundreds of kilometers in half an hour to find the upper reaches of the Amazon River.

There are many branching ridges here, and the valleys are all similar. If you go deep into them, you may lose your way in no time.

Even so, some people still braved the dangers and came to this wild land.

"Smith, are you sure you're not mistaken about this valley?"

"Don't worry, Master Will!"

"I bet there's treasure here."

"If I weren't so incompetent, I would definitely keep this secret to myself."

Two sorcerers dressed in camouflage, their bodies smeared with various liquids and emitting an odor that even demons would find repulsive, hid quietly in a crevice in the rocks.

"Damn it, you've said that ten times today!" Will muttered angrily, thinking to himself that he must have been out of his mind to believe Smith's nonsense and come here.

"Alright, alright, Will, you should think about the wonderful life after you pull off this job." Smith smiled, not taking his attitude to heart.

Will's eyes glazed over for a moment, then he quickly regained his senses, his face burning with a gambler's fervor. "You're right, my partner!"

"That's right, a wonderful life is beckoning you!"

"See that black area?" Smith's eyes flashed with an eerie light as he pointed to the black flat land a kilometer below.

Will quickly took out his night vision goggles, rapidly rotated the dial on them, and through the vision tube, the darkness instantly turned into light. Although it couldn't compare to daytime, it allowed him to see his surroundings clearly.

"I saw it! Smith!"

"This place is also infested with Thunder Vulture Demons! Oh God, this is a demon's lair! We're going to die!"

Snapped!

"Damn it, keep it down!"

Smith slapped him hard across the face. Didn't this idiot know how dangerous it was here? He was still yelling and shouting.

He quickly released a mental calming spell to soothe the demon that had attracted his attention.

"I'm sorry, I won't do it again." Will realized his mistake and quickly apologized.

Smith suppressed his anger; he still needed this guy's help, so he said, "Alright, now release your contracted beast."

"OK~OK..."

Will immediately opened the contract space, and a five-meter-long pangolin crawled out. Its sharp claws easily pierced through the rock, and its aura had reached the level of a warrior general.

"Proceed according to plan!"

Smith glanced at the pangolin with burning desire; with it, the distant mines would become a possibility.

At Will's instruction, the pangolin immediately began digging a burrow. Being a natural digging expert, even hard rocks couldn't stop its digging.

Soon a two-meter-wide opening was formed, and the advance was very fast, covering more than 100 meters in half an hour.

Inside the cave, the two followed behind the pangolin, which dug and squeezed soil into the walls.

A green beam of light shone straight down from behind, preventing the digging from going astray, and the entire cave sloping downwards.

"They're truly two talented individuals!"

Wang Teng stood above the cave entrance, watching them dig their way into the dark ground. If there weren't any demons underground, they could have easily succeeded.

However, he doesn't plan to go in for the time being. With these two as vanguards, he can save himself the trouble.

Four hours passed quickly, and it was now almost dawn.

After calculating the time, Wang Teng entered the cave and quickly moved forward. Dozens of meters underground, he heard Will and Smith cursing loudly.

"Fuck!"

"What a huge joke!"

"Damn it, Smith, didn't you say it was fine?"

"We need to find a way to deal with these lightning strikes quickly!"

"If I had a solution, would I need you to remind me?"

"Then hurry up and think of one!"

"I don't need you to remind me!"

"Then hurry up and deal with these lightning strikes!"

"I can't solve this!"

"If you have no other choice, just think of something!"

……

Will pointed his index finger at him and roared angrily. He had been digging hard all night and was about to reap the harvest, but the lightning blocked his way.

Smith clutched his head, his face a mixture of anger and despair as he stared at the cave the pangolin had dug out. The walls were a dark purple, and lightning flashed continuously inside.

Both of them had their hair standing on end, and you could even smell the burning. Their armor and magical artifacts had been shattered by lightning.

The pangolin was more resilient than the two of them and kept digging forward, occasionally even spotting lightning-type magic stones. The dark ground ahead was clearly a mineral vein.

However, the deeper they went, the more intense the lightning became. Even the pangolin could not withstand the prolonged electric shocks. After digging more than 30 meters, it was paralyzed by the electric shocks and could not move on the ground.

Seeing the duck right in front of you, only to find you can't open your mouth, nothing is more painful than that.

Will looked at his contracted beast and felt his heart bleeding. It was so far away and he couldn't bring it back. Once inside, he might not be able to get out.

After a while, he felt he might need to change his contracted beast.

"Let's go back. We need armored magical artifacts with higher lightning resistance, otherwise we won't be able to get these resources at all."

Smith's eyes darted away. The price of the high-powered armor and magic tools was ridiculously high. If he had that kind of money, why would he need to mine?

Without a contracted beast to excavate, it's simply unrealistic for a mage to do it himself. He felt it would be better to sell the information about this place.

This way he can still sell it for a good price. Just because he doesn't have the ability to develop it doesn't mean that those super-level mages don't have the ability to develop it.

However, this would significantly reduce his gains.

"What nonsense are you spouting! Don't you want my contracted beast anymore?"

"If you dare give up, believe me, I'll shove you up a donkey's ass!"

Will's eyes were bloodshot, his predatory gaze fixed on Smith. He had no reason to let go of either the invaluable mineral vein or the contracted beast.

The only way to get him to give up his current wealth is for him to die!

Smith frowned. This gambling addict had no manners whatsoever. He wiped the spittle off his face. If it weren't for the possibility that he might still need him...
