Chapter 90 The Strange Human-Faced Demon Spider

Suddenly, a strange sound came from the darkness ahead.

Without any hesitation, Dugu Yan's first spirit ring suddenly lit up, and a dark red linear energy shot directly towards the direction from which the sound came, exploding instantly and simultaneously igniting the surrounding trees, illuminating the area.

By the light of the fire, Dugu Yan looked closely, but there was nothing there.

Her attack missed.

The thought had barely crossed her mind when she heard a rustling sound coming from the darkness on her left, only this time it was much louder than before.

Is it a snake? Or some other arthropod?

At this moment, the knowledge she had acquired finally gave her the feedback she deserved.

The next second, she decisively left her original spot and ran quickly towards the location she had just attacked, while another lava beam shot towards the approximate location on the left where the sound had come from.

Since it's still unclear what kind of soul beast the enemy is, the only place she can be sure is the one she just attacked. Staying put is undoubtedly the worst option.

Another explosion followed, accompanied by a burst of flames that ignited the surrounding trees. Dugu Yan still couldn't see her opponent.

The opponent moves very fast; this is information she can confirm through two attacks.

Since that's the case, then let's set everything around us on fire.

In this situation, anyone attempting to cross this natural protective barrier to attack her would inevitably be injured by the flames, which would also significantly improve her field of vision, allowing her to further confirm the enemy's identity and location.

Without hesitation, she acted. As the lava beams ignited everything around Dugu Yan as if they were free, she finally saw what the enemy looked like.

Outside the circle of fire, there was a large spider that was constantly running around the circle, seemingly looking for a suitable opening to break through.

Using the gradually brightening firelight around her, Dugu Yan sized up her enemy.

This spider was completely covered in a shiny black carapace, making it clearly unusual compared to common spider spirit beasts.

Its body is extremely large, with a main body diameter of over 1.5 meters and eight spear-like legs that are over 3 meters long.

Spider? Although its species cannot be fully identified yet, spider-type soul beasts generally rely on poison and web spray for their attacks, making them relatively weak to fire.

With this advantage in my favor, Dugu Yan's confidence surged.

Great, the next step is to identify its species, find its weaknesses, and take corresponding measures based on its attack methods.

Thinking of this, Dugu Yan's first spirit ring lit up again, and a dark red beam of light kept chasing and bombarding the spiders on the outside.

Han Li, who was hiding in the shadows, nodded as he observed Dugu Yan's response.

So far, her performance has been quite good. Although it's been somewhat conventional, it's still a normal academic fighting style. Its strength lies in its stability, and it's only a matter of time before she wins.

Whether it was due to his jinx or not, the moment his thought arose, the situation on the field instantly changed.

Perhaps annoyed by Dugu Yan's constant attacks, and surrounded by flames it hated most, the spider stopped dodging and slammed on the brakes, stopping abruptly in place.

Having withstood the blow from Dugu Yan, it leaped towards the center of the fire ring with a powerful kick, its eight long legs still ablaze.

That's right, in this situation, it actually jumped up.

Its unusual behavior not only made Han Li, who was hiding in the shadows, widen his eyes, but also made Dugu Yan, who was attacking, pause for a moment.

However, she quickly realized what was happening.

Regardless of the type of spider soul beast, their soft abdomen has always been their common weakness. Although she didn't know what was wrong with this spider, she couldn't miss such an opportunity.

She immediately aimed at the spider falling downwards and unleashed her full power.

The second and first spirit rings flashed in succession, and a dark red beam of light, much thicker than before, shot rapidly toward the live target in the sky.

At this moment, she finally identified its species: it was a human-faced demon spider.

On the lower abdomen of the leaping spider, there were some white lines that contrasted sharply with its black body, and these white lines formed a ferocious human face.

On its lower abdomen, eight small eyes, gleaming with a faint purple light, were staring intently at Dugu Yan below, filled with rage.

Seeing that Dugu Yan had once again launched the flames it hated, it was not to be outdone and its abdomen tightened slightly.

The next second, a large white net, its exterior stained with a faint blue-purple liquid, shot out from its abdomen and collided with the dark red beam of light in mid-air.

Upon contact, the two objects exploded violently, and fragments of the spiderweb, still burning, rained down onto the battlefield below.

Seeing this, Dugu Yan frowned slightly. A blood flame rose from her body, enveloping her entire body and burning away any residue that fell on her.

However, it was this very action that caused her to miss her best opportunity to attack.

With a loud "boom," the fiery human-faced spider landed, kicking up a cloud of dust.

For some reason, this human-faced demon spider harbored an unusual hatred for Dugu Yan, and even now, it did not take the opportunity to deal with the flames on its body.

Instead, it tilted its head back again, and another spider web, laced with deadly poison, shot towards Dugu Yan.

Left with no other option, Dugu Yan had no time to dodge and could only stand still, her body enveloped in blood flames as she chose to unleash her soul skill to clash with it.

Taking this opportunity, the human-faced spider quickly swung its eight long legs, using an extremely stylish S-shaped movement to dodge Dugu Yan's subsequent attacks while rapidly approaching her.

Seeing the crazed human-faced spider disregarding its own injuries in order to approach her, Dugu Yan sighed and could only flap her wings lightly to leave the ground.

Even so, the human-faced spider below still refused to give up.

Even after its last web-spray missed its target, it ignored the flames on its body and continued to leap up from below, attempting to attack the lone goose in mid-air.

This strange behavior, coupled with the ever-growing flames on its body, created a peculiar scene in this Soul Beast Forest.

At this moment, Han Li and the two titled figures, who were hiding in the shadows, also flew into the air with strange expressions and came to Dugu Yan's side.

The group watched in silence as the Braised Human-Faced Demon Spider continued to leap up and attack like a flea, unsure of what to say.
