Chapter 405 The God of Death Speaks!

Chapter 405 The God of Death Speaks! (Full of personal opinions, proceed with caution if you are sensitive to such content!)

Only a very small number of living beings are qualified to know what kind of connection exists between the land beneath their feet and the starry sky above them.

When Zhu Ziyang first learned that he actually lived on a giant sphere, he was incredibly shocked and felt a complex mix of emotions, yet it also seemed perfectly reasonable, as if this was how it should be.

Douluo Star, the name of the sphere where the Douluo Continent is located, as mentioned by the God of Death. It is an ordinary yet extraordinary planet under the starry sky known as the Dragon God Realm. The Douluo Continent is just one of the many continents on Douluo Star, albeit the most special one.

The God of Death told him that whether it was Douluo Continent, Martial Soul Continent, or the other five continents on Douluo Star, they were all originally part of a single continent, which they called the Continent of Gods. During the Great Calamity of the God Realm, the war among the gods caused the Continent of Gods to split into seven continents, resulting in the current land and sea layout of Douluo Star.

The God of Death also told him that Douluo Star was once the main star of the Dragon God Realm, and was once a truly divine star.

Generally speaking, no planet can exist in isolation at any given moment. That's why the starry sky is the main unit that constitutes the universe. Under a starry sky, there are often hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands of planets. Therefore, planets are the basic units that constitute the universe and the main carriers of life in the universe.

Therefore, the structure of the universe is very simple: countless stars make up the starry sky, and countless starry skies make up the universe. That's it, very simple.

But is this really the case?

The God of Death bluntly stated that it was impossible; it was only possible in an ideal state. The real universe was actually a void, within which existed countless faint lights—the starry sky. Beyond these countless lights lay an endless expanse of blackness, which was called the abyss.

Therefore, the real universe is actually a painting. The canvas is gray, representing the void. The main color on the canvas is black, representing the abyss. The paintings on the canvas are scattered, not so bright, but indispensable points of light, representing the starry sky.

This blunt statement greatly impacted Zhu Ziyang's worldview, but the God of Death stated that this was something he had to accept in order to assume the position of God King.

The Dragon God Realm, where Douluo Star is located, is an inconspicuous one among the myriad stars. The highest level of life there is only the God King level. There are countless such stars in the universe, just like the sands in the desert, small and numerous. Even beings at the God King level can barely set foot in the void. It is basically impossible for them to freely roam the universe.

The God of Death once smiled and told Zhu Ziyang that he was both lucky and unlucky.

Fortunately, he was born on Douluo Star. As long as he successfully inherits the position of the God of Death, he can possess the strength of a God-King and receive rewards without having to cultivate hard.

Unfortunately, he was born on Douluo Star, where the cultivation system of the Douluo God Realm has a huge flaw. Godhood can rapidly raise a god's strength to a certain level, but this is actually a cultivation system that has long been eliminated in the universe. True godhood should be a leap in the level of life, not an accumulation of cultivation levels.

For gods in the Douluo God Realm, the divine position is both a crown and a shackle. It restricts their leap towards a higher level of life. Therefore, the God of Death warned Zhu Ziyang not to rely too much on the power of the divine position. If possible, he should not use the power of the divine position before he cultivates his own life level to the God King level. Only in this way can he avoid being bound by the divine position.

A divine position guarantees your lower limit, but the upper limit of a true god should not stop there, so said the god of death.

In the Dragon God Realm, the only god with the best chance of breaking through to the God King realm and reaching a higher level is the Dragon God. However, the Dragon God is not a native of the Douluo Starry Sky. He came from the void and happened to witness the birth of the Douluo God Star. It was at the beginning of the second era after the opening of the Douluo Starry Sky. The accumulation of an era allowed the laws of the Douluo Starry Sky to successfully give birth to a god star. The arrival of the Dragon God witnessed the birth of the god star.

Thus, the Dragon God, possessing the strength of a God-King, reached a cooperation agreement with the newly born God Star. The Dragon God was responsible for teaching the young native gods on the God Star, while the God Star provided the Dragon God with a divine realm for him to participate in the path beyond the God-King level. In this way, the Douluo Starry Sky became the Dragon God Realm.

After the Dragon God and the Divine Star reached an agreement, the Dragon God took great responsibility in teaching the eight native deities, like a loving father, even though the Dragon God himself had only just come of age. The eight young native deities relied heavily on the Dragon God and obeyed his teachings without question.

And so, about 50,000 years passed, and all eight native gods of Douluo Star came of age. Under the witness of the Dragon God and the God Star, they each became husband and wife, laying the foundation and origin of the Douluo God Realm. They were known as the Eight Kings of the God Realm!

The origins of the Eight Kings of the Divine Realm are actually quite simple.

At the beginning of the creation of Douluo Starry Sky, Douluo Star was born in the center of the starry sky. On Douluo Star, a spring appeared, from which two completely opposite primordial sources continuously flowed. They quickly formed a Tai Chi around the spring, dividing Douluo Star and Douluo Starry Sky into two equal parts. Finally, the original spring also split in two, moving up and down, transforming into the two "fish eyes" of the Tai Chi.

The Tai Chi symbol, representing the ultimate truth of the universe, appeared on Douluo Star. The yang pole is gold, and the yin pole is purple. The creation and destruction of all things flow between the two. The eye of the yang pole is white, and the eye of the yin pole is green. A simple and unadorned seed appeared at the position of the first eye, sprouting two identical buds. One grows upward, immersing itself in the white eye of the yang pole, and the other grows downward, immersing itself in the green eye of the yin pole.

Two ancient trees grow from two "fish eyes". Their roots are connected, but their branches and leaves are very different. The upper one is grayish-white, with no flowers or leaves growing on its branches and trunk. The twilight flows over it, leading to the end of the years. The lower one is emerald green, with lush and verdant branches and leaves. Vitality arises from it, inspiring the rush of time.

From the same original spring, four unknowable, invisible, ineffable, and indescribable beings emerged. They were very mysterious; the only thing that could be sensed was their aura: pure and immaculate pink, ink-black as night, dazzling colors, and cold, hard red. They awoke from the ancient green trees, frolicked in the golden spring, played in the purple spring, and rested on the ancient white trees. Among them, good and evil, reason and emotion, circulated.

After countless ages, they welcomed their teacher, the Dragon God.

Under the guidance of the Dragon God, they quickly mastered their instincts and learned to control their immense power. Ultimately, Pink and Black emerged first from the primordial land, becoming the god-kings who governed the good and evil of all living beings—the first god of good and the first god of evil. Color and Red followed closely behind, becoming the god-kings who governed the order of all living beings—the first god of emotions and the first god of agency, or rather, the first Rakshasa god and the first Asura god. The White Ancient Tree and the Green Ancient Tree, the Golden Spring and the Purple Spring, simultaneously emerged from the primordial land, becoming the four god-kings who controlled the creation and destruction of heaven and earth—the first god of death and the first god of life, the first god of creation and the first god of destruction.

Birth, death, creation, and destruction are the foundation of the world's existence; good and evil, reason and emotion, are the origin of the world's operation.

After the birth of the Eight Kings of the God Realm, the Douluo God Realm and the Douluo Starry Sky began to develop and expand rapidly. The power of the Nine God Kings spread the divine radiance under the starry sky, and native planets quickly submitted to the leadership of the God Realm. New gods greatly enriched the power of the God Realm. At the same time, unfamiliar races also delighted the Dragon God.

Soon, the Dragon God's offspring appeared in the Douluo Starry Sky. The Dragon God demonstrated the dragon's promiscuity and universal love to the eight God Kings. Almost every race in the Douluo Starry Sky left behind emotional debts for Him. However, no god could truly earn the Dragon God's sincere affection.

At this point, the God of Death couldn't help but complain about the Dragon God's scumbag behavior. When this guy went down to the mortal realm to harm young women of other races, he would usually change his form. His two most commonly used forms, a golden dragon and a silver dragon, were the source of the golden and silver bloodlines on the Douluo Continent.

Of course, the Dragon God also descends to the mortal realm at times. In these cases, his offspring often inherit more of the Dragon God's bloodline and power, resulting in better talent and greater strength. Therefore, the offspring of the Dragon God are collectively known as the Dragon God's Sons.

The exact number of the Dragon God's sons is uncertain, but many are quite famous. For example, there is Suanni, the descendant of the Dragon God and the Golden Lion; Yazi, the descendant of the Dragon God and the Heavenly Wolf; and Bian, the descendant of the Dragon God and the Heavenly Tiger.

Ahem, I've gone off on a tangent.

At its peak, the Douluo God Realm had nearly twenty God Kings and more than 360 planets under its jurisdiction. Before the Great Calamity of the God Realm, the gods of the God Realm were preparing to cross the void and venture into the abyss in an attempt to establish a connection between the Dragon God Realm and other star systems.

However, the Great Calamity of the God Realm caused all of this to vanish. The Dragon God severed his divine position and transformed into the Golden Dragon King and the Silver Dragon King. Among the eight kings of the God Realm, the God of Death and the God of Creation perished, the God of Emotions' divine position was damaged, and the other five kings were also seriously injured. The Douluo Dragon Clan, created by the Dragon God, was also destroyed. All nine Dragon Kings and the Dragon God's sons perished, and most of the gods of the God Realm also perished. The glory of the Douluo God Realm for millions of years was destroyed in an instant. Douluo Star was directly severed from the God Realm, barely managing to preserve itself and the God Realm. As a result, Douluo Star fell to the level of an ordinary spirit star, and the God Realm went from ruling the starry sky to being confined to its own territory, becoming a rootless tree.

In short, the beginning and end of everything originated from the great calamity of the divine realm hundreds of thousands of years ago. In fact, the martial spirit system on Douluo Star only appeared at that time. Countless divine bloodstains were spilled across the entire continent, and the human race benefited from this, obtaining the bloodline and abilities of the gods, and thus possessing martial spirits.

Looking back now, it's truly a pity, as the god of death said!
