Chapter 89 Unseen Magic

Chapter 89 Unseen Magic

"Ahhhhhh!" Two voices screamed in unison from both in front of and behind my head, a very shrill and eerie scream!

Professor Quirrell was hunched over, trembling all over.

His hands were outstretched like chicken claws, with muscles and bones protruding and covering his eyes. He wanted to touch his face but dared not, and could only scream in agony as he endured the pain.

Voldemort was in an even worse situation; he didn't even have hands! He just kept making faces and howling.

Almost two or three seconds later, Professor Quirrell's fairly round head was covered with large red sores!

The red is bright and clear, vivid and intense, like a volcano about to erupt—layer upon layer, some large and some small!

Although [Nawi's Failed Scabies Potion (Green)] is only a green-quality card, its effect is surprisingly good, perhaps because it is a one-time use item.

Even Voldemort fell victim to it!

On Voldemort's noseless face, from his forehead to his chin, grew twenty or thirty red bumps of varying sizes, all connected together.

Even on the nose, there were several large bumps clustered together, which actually looked very much like a red nose!

You're Buggy the Clown? The man even the user of the Face Fruit has to give face to?!

"Ahhh! Damn it!!!" Voldemort howled.

He doesn't actually feel much pain; he mainly receives some from Quirrell. But he can cut it off on his own, so the pain is only momentary.

However, the fact that Yan was embarrassed and even developed a face full of red bumps as a result was a huge blow to the Dark Lord's pride.

Voldemort was once so powerful, able to command the winds and stop children from crying at night. Now he has to suffer such humiliation?!

Although in the Albanian forests he could only possess small animals and eke out a living in dirty, damp places, isn't it different now?

He can't bear to suffer this humiliation again! This is a second violation that brings back painful memories!

At this moment, Voldemort disregarded everything else and directly controlled the magic within Professor Quirrell's body, shouting, "Avada Kedavra!"

Voldemort didn't even finish reciting the incantation before releasing a green spell, and it came from his mouth!

This demonstrates a terrifying mastery of the Killing Curse!

If Ted is strong enough, he can use his Appraisal ability to see that Voldemort's Killing Curse is already level 9!

To go further, one must embark on one's own path of slaughter.

Voldemort's act of spitting out and devouring a large melon startled Ted!

Fortunately, he was cautious and never showed himself. Instead, he observed himself by reflecting off a magically made ice mirror, hiding behind a pillar.

The spitting attack, like a giant melon, slammed heavily into the pillar. Despite being a non-destructive spell, it blasted a chunk the size of a human head off the stone pillar, cracks spreading outwards. The entire pillar was now teetering on the brink of collapse!

That Avada Kedavra took a lot of energy; Professor Quirrell's face turned pale almost instantly, and even a few wrinkles appeared at the corners of his eyes!

It's obvious that Voldemort's forced casting of the spell was tantamount to using Quirrell's life as a weapon.

The angry attack failed, and Voldemort calmed down considerably.

Although I like it and am good at it, Avada isn't very suitable for the current situation.

This kid is hiding very well; single-target spells are unlikely to be effective.

But for the Dark Lord, once he decides to attack, he has a plethora of methods at his disposal.

Voldemort was no longer concerned about Quirrell, who was possessed by him.

Forget about treasuring talent and sharing glory, to hell with it! Voldemort just wants Ted dead!

He took direct control of Quirrell's body, assuming a bizarre, arched posture to cast a spell: "Fierce Flames!"

In an instant, flames erupted, turning the entire underground space a fiery red!

The final challenge set up by Dumbledore was located in a vast, underground circular space.

The room rises like a tiered classroom, with the lowest point in the middle where the Mirror of Eris is placed, and the highest point around it is a ring of supporting stone pillars with a diameter of one meter.

At that moment, Voldemort cast a spell, and accompanied by Quirrell's agonizing screams and howls, the entire space burst into flames!

The flames flickered dark red, swaying and twitching incessantly, spreading and flowing everywhere as if they were alive.

This is a dark magic that Voldemort created in his early years by modifying "Blazing Flames," and it is a prerequisite for learning "Fiercefire Charm" later.

The Fiendfyre spell is not actually that difficult to learn; any normal adult wizard can learn it.

But the real difficulty of this magic lies in its control.

Fiendfire is an extremely dangerous and active flame that is generally uncontrollable once summoned.

It's like a living thing, frantically burning everything flammable to strengthen itself. It can also transform into various fiery beasts and run around until nothing can be burned anymore.

Even stones can be heated for a while in many cases!

Moreover, ordinary anti-curses and water cannot extinguish the fierce fire; it can even burn on water.

Therefore, when the Fiendfire Curse goes out of control, it often results in a massive, widespread disaster. Consequently, many casters have burned themselves to death.

Grindelwald nearly burned down the entire city of Paris using a modified version of Fiendfyre.

Because it was extremely difficult to control, Voldemort created this spell before he researched Fiendfyre after graduating.

This spell has an extremely strong control over flames; once you become familiar with it, you can better control the Fiery Blaze.

The reason Voldemort didn't use Fiendfyre directly was mainly because he was worried that Quirrell, whom he was possessing, wouldn't be able to withstand it.

Once Quirrell's body collapses, Fiendfire will be out of control. At that point, the Philosopher's Stone will be gone forever.

This raging fire is perfect for the moment, as it's easy to use and control.

A ring of viscous, orange-red flames erupted and ignited the area around the underground space, then spread inwards, slowly shrinking in size.

Fortunately, Ted's many preparations for passing through Snape's purple flame gate had not yet expired, which allowed him to avoid the first wave of damage and avoid being burned alive.

However, there was no hiding behind the pillars anymore; all the stone pillars were now surrounded by flames.

He rolled out from behind the stone pillar, exposing himself directly in front of Voldemort, with blue smoke even rising from his body.

Ted kept a close eye on Voldemort's every move, and took the opportunity to activate the cards [Restore Energy (Green)] and [Fake Lucky Coin (Green)].

A surge of energy flowed into my exhausted body, and my strength suddenly returned.

The magic power that had been almost depleted was replenished once more. I felt much better.

Ted waved his wand to cast Ironclad Charms and Wizard Armor on himself, then continued to watch Voldemort cautiously, sweat beading on his forehead.

This is a ruthless and powerful Dark Lord, whose strength is unfathomable!

I might die if I'm not careful! There's definitely pressure.

However, Voldemort did not continue his attack. He maintained that bizarre posture with the back of his head facing his face and his whole body arched backward, making people's sanity drop wildly.

"Unseen magic," he murmured to himself. Voldemort had noticed the difference in the "magic armor."

Voldemort's mastery of spells and dark magic was probably even greater than Dumbledore's, so he naturally saw the difference in the concepts and foundations of the mage armor at a glance.

This is something completely different from the current magic system.
